Day Job Badge Question

Are there any requirements to start earning day job badges? I ask because I know I'm going to try some other characters eventually and realized I should probably go ahead and create them now so I can earn towards a day job until I start actually playing them.

There are only 2 requirements to earning Day Job badges:

1) The toon must be logged out (duh )
2) The toon must be logged out in a Day Job badge location

Other than that, it just depends on WHAT DJ badge you want. Most are obvious thematically, but check out ParagonWiki.com or Badge-Hunter.com for more specific information. Best of luck!

As of I16 there is a third requirement. For at least one Day Job Badge, there is a level requirement before it will be granted. You can earn credit, but you won't get the badge. This is the Vanguard base Day Job, and it prevents people from earning Vanguard Merits before 35.

Also, you must be at least level 15 to earn Predator (since that requires logging out in a PvP zone, and Bloody Bay is the lowest such zone.)

Likewise, you must be at least 35 to get Cimeroran, and 25 for Chronologist (Ouroboros)

And my retired USAF Reservist is not too happy that Pilot requires one to be a villain. They really need to get rid of Commuter and replace it with Pilot (plenty of choppers heroside that we can log out next to)

Also, to charge up a badge power you have to earn the badge first. This means logging in to get the badge and then having time logged out for the badge power to charge.

If it takes 21 days to get a badge and 10 days to charge it. Being logged out for 31 days will *not* get you a fully charged badge power. You have to log in at 21 days for the badge to 'ding' and be applied to your toon. Then another 10 days logged out to charge the power.
