Well I just bought that Ninja Pack. I also noticed on the shopping page the Science Pack... but I couldn't REMEMBER if I'd already bought it or not. And none of the packs are actually NAMED in your account of course, they all go under the generic name of "perk".

So what the hell, I bought the Science Pack in case I forgot to buy it. It wouldn't let me buy it if I didn't need it right? So I bought the pack and applied it to my account.

Now, I'm pretty well off, enough so that I can throw a bit of money around... and I was curious... so I decided to buy the SAME pack again, and apply it to the SAME account, just to see if the site would recognize that I already have it and not allow me to essentially waste my money.

No deal, the site was MORE than happy to take my money twice and "apply" the same pack to my account twice.

I see something seriously wrong here. It doesn't bother ME, to be honest, because I have the cash to blow... but with it ONLY saying "perk" in the description on your account... how can people know whether they HAVE paid for something or not without actually going in game and looking for the "results" of the pack?

And what's to prevent people that aren't so smart from clicking to buy the same pack over and over again and totally blowing their money for no extra product?

I honestly believe this to be a serious flaw in the NCSoft store... am I the only one that thinks this way? Or do the "idiots" really deserve to be parted with their money without getting any benefit from the loss?

If it was a totally open world.... one side would "wipe" the other side out pretty quickly. What I mean is, one side which had a substantially larger population would bleed over into the other side and keep them from coming back to any sort of power. It would be in-game griefing on a MASSIVE scale.

I've never PLAYED a disturbing character, but I have played WITH one. It was on Justice when I was getting my villain to 50.

A little "girl" named Orchid Lily I think. Her bio said something about her trying to bring back her Mom or something with an ancient spell book ... but instead it killed her and "brought her back" as some sort of zombie/ghost thing. She kept talking to my character about her being dead, wishing she could feel anything... while at the same time saying that my character reminded me of her "daddy" that used to torture her and sexually abuse her, and she suggested albeit indirectly that I could do all sorts of nasty evil gross and sick things to her "living corpse". And she said "I don't mind, I'm dead after all, it doesn't bother me. Whatever makes you happy."

Needless to say it made for a VERY disturbing, creepy and surreal gaming experience for that double XP weekend. But she was a good player to have on the team gamewise, and to be honest, I couldn't bring myself to submit a petition... I was fascinated by just how far into the character this person went, they NEVER broke character not once, for hours.

If you haven't noticed, I once again changed my avatar and location today, so there might be something to what you said.

I want to throw some stuff in here for anyone to use the Undrn3t concept or ph1L0t1x in MA arcs or roleplaying or whatever. It's some background that I made on the character of ph1L0t1x for Orion Star's MA arc. Figured I'd let everyone that wanted to have a crack at it:

The powersets that I *imagined* him having when I created him were actually Electrical Control (which doesn't exist) and Electrical Blast. Since we don't know if we'll ever HAVE an Electrical Control set, and since we don't know just what sets/archetypes will be actually playable in GR, I have decided to make him a Blaster, using Electrical Blast primary and Electrical Manipulation secondary for the character. The blast colors are Bright Electricity, using the brightest Green for the primary color and the darkest Grey for the secondary color.

As far as his personality, the backstory I'm giving him is that he was an early resistance fighter before the Resistance was at all organized. He was captured and tortured for information by Neuron. The torture that Neuron used was actually similar to the "torture" that Synapse suffered at the hands of Crey, resulting in electric-based powers (Science origin). He then hitched a ride over to Primal Earth, and well the rest I've already said in my post about the Undrn3t. Synapse and Positron helped him to learn about electricity, technology, and how to control his powers. No one knows his real name, only the code name he goes by.

His personality is a hatred of being controlled in any way, and an intense hatred of Neuron for what was done to him and Cole for allowing it to happen and "destroying" his world. He is a freedom lover, and could have ended up being a poet, had Neuron's torture not iced over his heart. Now, in person, he's a cynical, rude (more "to the point" than rude exactly), and quiet freedom fighter. On the Undrn3t however, his "poetic creativity" allows him to make more impassioned speeches against Cole and the Praetorian Guard. So there is a big difference between how he treats others in person and how he speaks to them on the Undrn3t.

I find respect, including self respect, to be WAY overrated. It has never helped me in my life, even when I had it. Only ever caused me problems. I don't see the point, so I'm working on getting rid of it.

I hereby approve of the OP. Nice work, and succinct.

And me, I just don't let people bother me with their insults, it just rolls off. They can curse and insult me until they are blue in the face with no effect whatsoever. I don't feel the need to fight them 'for honor' or even get upset about it.

So does that make me spineless, or something else Bill? I'm really curious what your opinion of that is.

Old players come up with NEW names that haven't been taken all the time. New players can easily do the same.

If you are having trouble coming up with a name, it simply means you aren't being original or creative enough.

I never have a problem. Then again, I also almost always think of my name and check it before doing anything else, so there's that too.
