I doubt that will work, after all if everyone stopping attacking you don't lose the aggro. The problem is when you hibernating and then someone drops an Aoe, they may attack the someone. On the other hand if Frozen aura is a long duration taunt it may work.

Now I've thought about it I would get Ice Blast at 44 instead of Freezing Touch. Ice Blast and Block of Ice act as single target gauntlets, so you can use them with taunt for kiting AVs, something that is very useful in the 40s. Or you can use Ice Blast as a way of getting a single enemy that is targetting a squishy to attack you.

I got the two holds (and slotted with duration) for boss/sapper/*insert dangerous single mob here* and taking them out of the fight for a bit and communciating with the team to attack the big chunk of ice first!

I got ice blast as a long range aggro grabber, but maybe taunt will be good enough, not sure on the difference in ranges.

I'm very rusty on tanking and you all make good points.

It's a PvE only build.

The acc's in the few attacks I have are to ensure that they hit and help to maximise the use of gauntlet.

I agree with the re-structuring times of powers being taken, especially glacial armour.

It's for teaming only, not soloing so the only attacks that are there are to make us of gauntlet, not for dealing any damage.

I'm currently a level 13 Warshade. Character name is Wamdue.

I'm fun, friendly and I know how to play the game. I'm also on holiday for the next 2 weeks so am going to being online playing a lot. Anyone else around the same level who's going to be on a lot want to join me in going through the fun WS story arcs?

Teamed with a katana/regen with my broadsword/regen for about 30 levels (15-45ish), and can happily say my broadsword definetly out damaged the katana with dps.

Dominators are a suprise in PvP, very few heroes who PvP often expect them as mostly their against stalkers or brutes.

I've changed the whole tide of battle by logging on as my Dominator, especially if there are a lot of blasters running around, they soon get cut down.

Yes they're weak and unique to play, but they still have the ability to be devastating in the right hands.

I've got IH and MoG, and both of them are panic buttons that I rarely use.

IH is more a perperation panic button though, as it's not really much use when your health is low and you're getting pummeled. More of a "I'm going to tank this group!" button.

MoG is a proper panic button.

I forgot to ask originally, have you got resilience?

If you've already got boxing/kick then I'd get tough, if not get IH.

Yes, it's taken me 6 months to get to from 30 to 40...but i'm now really enjoying my char! So expect to see me on a lot more.

My god it's been a long time since I had this much fun on CoX. And CoV specifically, which I've never really liked.

Having played a controller to lvl 50 (in the early days when trollers were rare :P) I set about choosing a Dominator from the start on CoV - I knew they'd be a lesser chosen AT and I'd be quitely effective (which anyone who's teamed with me will agree too )

But due to the low hold duration, and facing carnies/DE which both seem to laugh at my futile attempts of Mind Controll - I gave up after doing a pure troller PvP build, all primaries, no secondaries and 3 travel powers.

All so I could annoy people in Sirens...annoy because they couldn't move, or were confused, but I couldn't actually kill.


I've just used my I7 respec and the game has opened up SOOOO much for me I've been having a whale of time. A mixture of Primary/Secondary and a new found love for Drain psyche has made me happy to play CoV again when all love for the game was dieing.

So what's this all about then?
So many wonderful fun events have happened over the past couple of years on Union, we really should have more. Unfortunately a lot of people don't want to put in the effort to organise something where a lot of people change their mind at the last minute and don't show up.

What sort of events have there been before?
Death races, Hami Raids, TFs, Conga Lines, Beach Parties. Union has never been a dull place, so why not have these events more often, get the community even more involved.

So what are you going to do about it?
I have decided to organise some BIG multi-people events on Union, to occur on the 1st Sunday of every month. Starting on the 2nd July.

What's the first Event then?
A Lusca Bash! (for those new to the game, Lusca is a giant octopus found in independence port that requires several heroes to take down)
You can be any level from 1 to 50 to help take down this giant octopus, we'll have plenty of people with recall friend to ensure you get there safely and Giant Monsters scale to what level you are so you can still pitch in if you're a low level!

But I've done Lusca loads of times
I want to start small to see how well this takes off. I'm giving people plenty of advanced warning to book out their diaries so no-shows should be a minimum. And even something this simple is a good way to meet new people and have fun!

2nd July (a Sunday) at 18:00 British Time

How are these events going to be controlled and organised?
Through this forum thread, and through the @Forumites global channel. Even the event grows large enough a seperate global channel may be created.

There are quite a few on the US Servers, even a Dominator has soloed to 50...

About 7 posts down from yours is a topic saying "BS/Regen PvP Build".
