uh, BlackArachnia?
I don't think yours is actually turned off at the moment. -
Well, seems I've missed the contest by a narrow amount . . . but, if you're feeling generous, throw an @ to the front of my forum username (North American servers).
Congratulations on being an addict too, Leo! I don't know the exact date of my in-game anniversary, but I know I'm not going anywhere any time soon. Well, not without another FUI9 . . . -
Sprunk up your life© with NEW® Sprunk Lite!
Now in environmentally friendly® Sprunkified metal cans!
An even greater Convention presence might be good. Hire four or five new employees who reside in the four corners of the u.s. (and maybe a fifth in southern Ontario), whose sole task is to visit the many various conventions which take place and offer a Paragon Studio presence.
Maybe hiring new people isn't the most cost effective way to do it, but I figured it'd be cheaper than flying people from your HQ all around your country, and possibly beyond. -
So, assuming all that money was made from selling yearly subscriptions, we could guessa-ma-tate approximately 87,878 subscribers! Then, I don't know how many of you folks out there utilize the same shopping method I do . . . soooo . . . random average of the earlier estimate of 40,000 . . .
63939 subscribers?
Would the marketing team ever, under any circumstances, release the real number? I can't think of any arguable reason that someone in marketing would be likely to agree with. -
Just tracing back to the subject of campiness . . . it certainly has its place. Personally, though, I think that place is over in Champions Online.
Not going to suggest we remove any of the campy stuff from this game, since even at its worst/campiest, this game holds great merit in its capacity to validate many varying perspectives. However, I know I would certainly be pleased with quite a bit less camp moving forward.
People toss around the label of "comic book game" quite a lot. I see this massive game as offering so, SOOOO much more than that. With very little tweaking, we really could be looking at the finest in revisionist post-modern reality media. Limiting this game to "comic book" concepts, I feel, is a terrible disservice to the astronomical potential this intellectual property holds.
But, as I said, the greatest merit of this game is we can all read in to it what we want. The Devs have been careful enough at avoiding a constraining label. -
Castle, is it possible the mission writer actually _intended_ for the Green Mitos to have -50 Hold Protection? Could that possibly have been the specific mechanic employed to fully simulate that Hamidon was in a weakened state?

I think Base Raids might have been more popular if Prestige costs weren't so prohibitively high back in the day. If any upstart Group of about 15 or 20 people could have a Raid-enabled base in the span of a month, then the feature probably would have been more well-received. As it stood, the only Base Raid I even managed to be part of was during City of Villains Beta.
If Bases simply became optional (stressing this word here. OPTIONAL) mini-PvP zones, I think it would go a fair way to offering some exciting gameplay. No need to make them Raids, for Items of Power or anything, really. Just the opportunity to use some of those base Defenses. Maybe create a "Capture the Flag" mode or something? King of the Hill? -
Well, another Canadian here, hoping to meet some Devs in person.
If not this year, then perhaps 2011 or 2012?
http://www.hobbystar.com/fanexpo/
or
http://www.animenorth.com/main/
I only suggest the latter because, despite having a focus on anime and manga, there is a substancial attendence of folks from gamer communities. For instance, there are plans for a sizeable Steam/TF2 community to gather all its members (including those who live overseas) and visit in 2011.
Also, if the IGDA hosts any interesting event in the area, or if you think it might be fun to come for the T.O. Game Jam ( http://www.tojam.ca/history/2010.asp ), then that would be fantastic too! -
I meant the security setting that prevents all cookies, period. Some people may have it active without even knowing it.

Actually, I believe it was stated that it would take 1 week for ONE morality step. Ergo, assuming you go Villain -> Rogue -> Hero, that's two weeks. If it's Villain -> Rogue -> Vigilante -> Hero, that's 21 days. Same length of time to earn a Day Job.
Of course, one would hope that if the latter method was the one used, then you would be able to Respec in to Epic Ancillary Power Pools at the Vigilante phase, and not have to become a full Hero. -
There are also potential issues of customized security settings for your browser and version number.

I think what Zombie Man posted is supposed to say "The Coming Storm." Instead all the spaces were condensed and it looks like a little like "╟╡╞║╣╪."

Dang! I was up to 81 on my first, original hero, but I used a few recently. I was hoping to go for the record.
Although, I still have a costume slot which uses the legacy business suit! -
Blood Spectre . . . you know the post I made where you replied with "Not as much as you think" right afterwards? Well . . . a single +rep on me there netted more than twice my accumilated rep at that point. I went from having just earned my second green, to five greens total.
So, afraid to say that it's ended up being MORE than I originally thought. I was going to guess it would max out at like 100 per rep change. -
Or someone who unintentionally irked someone else who has a sizeable rep reserve. As I understand it, the more rep you have, the more your vote affects others' rep.

Ah, but don't forget Veteran Reward Attacks, Origin-Specific Attacks, and potentially Temporary/Craftable attacks!
And really, if we COULD make enemies eventually give up in a futility induced rage, that would make it allllll the sweeter. -
Actually, there is a way to make it so you can do a Teleport-single-target attack, but it would be sloppy: Limit the number of targets in the classic AoE Teleport attack to 1.
Chances are you'll never hit your intended target in a crowd, but it could work, sorta. -
You know, the Heroes of Might and Magic town building idea that was brought up is a really good one.
It would introduce a mini-game seperate from the level grind, which is apparently something quite a few players have complained about. It could be implemented in such a way that everybody's got the option for one (even heroes, with a whole Fortress of Solitude, or Batcave approach). And it could be a really nifty time-sink.
Of course, the resources to implement that might be astronomical. Still, it is absolutely an idea with merit that should really be looked in to.
Anyone want to write up a proposal design document for posting? -
Man, I'd TOTALLY want to play as an Invulnerability / Willpower Villain! I could survive ANYTHING and take Aggro like nobody's business!
-
I'd be fine if the market never came back. Although, expanded (or even unlimited) Salvage and Recipe inventory space would be a VERY nice thing to have right about now. Well, a very nice thing to have /at .

OH GOD, SAM! IT BURNS! IT BUUURRRRNNNNSSSS!!!
. . . and I don't think Golden Girl will take the fskin' hint. -
My first Flawed Clone was Stone Armour / Bane Spider Mace.
Lemme tell you, that's actually a really remarkable combo! Didn't just hold her own with Ajax, she also aggro'd all the Wyvern and stood toe-to-toe with them while I sat back and watched.
My latest one was Dark Blast / Martial Arts. Face-planted in less than 30 seconds. -
A concept I enjoy is that of the anti-villain. One who is "evil" for the sake of being the whetstone on which the heroes hone themselves. A prolific and powerful, but "lesser" evil than what could come to bear should that power ever wane. A gadfly and a goader, who threatens to destroy, but really just wants to see others being creative.
But in roleplay and game immersion, I have villains of every kind. Over 75, at least. Some are sadistic. Some are masochistic. Some are misguided. Some are trapped (for now. Thank for almight Devs for Going Rogue!) Some choose to be where they are. Some are simpletons. Some are grand schemers. Some are just thugs for hire. Some are selfish. some are selfless. Some don't even have a concept of "self." Some are amoral. Some have their own morality. Some are even immoral. Some see themselves for what they are. Some don't.
When it comes to content in this game? "Everything for everybody."
I don't want the Devs aiming their villainous content (or ANY content, for that matter) at some arbitrary "average." I want content for every conceiveable villain (hero, vigilante, rogue, and others). The amount of content, understandably, should reflect the amount of demand from players for that particular kind of content. To that end, since the latest Villain Arcs in Issue 17 really hit the mark, moving forward, more content should treat Villain Characters with this level of respect.
More, but not all. All the content should range in variety and give us the opportunities to pick and choose. Content should be all manner of DIFFERENT experiences, not just more and more of the same catered to the "average."
And I want it all. -
Read you loud and clear!
Hear that, folks? All we have to do is keep bugging the Devs!
"If there turns out to be a manageable compromise, and the player base continues to show interest, of course we'd consider it."
This CLEARLY means we just have to keep repeating ourselves until it happens.
So!
David, you wonderful and kind individual, we'd like greater costume piece parity for all three player character models, with absolutely no limits based on gender/sex.
Yes, I'm serious here. More serious than the stuff I said at the start of this post, but . . . um . . . yeah.
