The only real giant "monster" threatening Paragon City is Lusca. I'd like to see a massive mutated earthworm rising from the ground or an irradiated praying mantis or something unique like that.
im down for this. bring on the miniature giant space hamsters!

er, i meant giant, radioactive bugs. really i did.

go for the eyes Boo! go for the eyes!
  3. news. good, bad, or otherwise on a weekly or bi-monthly basis.

revamping the 1-20 content for blueside.

    more SFs for the villains.

    boomtown revamp/rebuild.

more costume pieces... because obviously 3 hours tweaking my alts isn't long enough.

there are one or two alts that i wouldnt mind participating in something like this, moreso if we got the in-game statue or something as a permanent reminder of what we did. but to be honest, id rather actually make some sort of contribution to the story end of it then just be randomized character plugged into the mission. like a reason the character was chosen, something specific the character did, not just the random twit who managed to raise his hand when everyone else stepped back.

it's a nice thought to think you could do something with a lasting impact on an MMO.

bah, i liked Mar-vell's son taking over. The run by Peter David was pretty good. The other ones ill agree were kinda lame.

In comics, no-one stays dead except Bucky. And even Bucky got better.
technically bucky never died. that itself was a retcon. originally Cap and Bucky survived the end of the war and were active well into the 50's. but then i dont think death should some insurmountable obstacle when it comes to comics anyway.

Kinda like how we knock people unconscious with swords in City of Heroes.
barring being ripped in half or atomized, being unconscious or dead look pretty similar in comics.

actually, he even says it to Kilowogg that he left them enough power to survive. how they were supposed to use it without the rings, im not sure, but he did leave them alive. the worst he did before getting to sinestro was cutting off Boodika's hand.

Direct action has always been verboten to the little green monkeys, at least until Oa was reborn and the Guardians along with it. It was one of the things that nagged me about the story, but given what id seen of the blue bastiches beforehand, it didn't seem that far out of character for most of them.

Were enough Kangs. Apparently they got themselves wiped out if the notes in Avengers Forever are to be believed. BTW, for folks who are sick of some of the older Avengers retcons, id suggest reading Avengers Forever if only because they manage to get their hands on most of the inconsistencies throughout the years and turn the whole damn thing into what it is one of my favorite Avengers stories That and the notes after every couple reprinted issues make for as much amusing reading as the story itself.

If you get depressed or get hammered, fine. But tragedy doesn't give someone the right to inflict tragedy on others.

And that's why the Guardians determined him unfit for duty at the time. Or are we supposed to be okay with the unstable man remaking the universe as he sees fit?
and it was by THAT point, some time well after the events in Emerald Twilight that Hal really became the villain Parrallax. The Guardians had been noted for pushing Hal too far before, and IIRC, he'd even 'quit' the Corps for sometime letting Guy & John stand in as GLs for the sector. Was the Emerald Twilight story rushed, yes. But it wasn't a 'crazy/not crazy' switch that was flipped that turned Hal to Parrallax.
  13. cant disagree with some of those, especially the One More Day garbage. even now i still won't pick up an issue of spidey. hell, it took JMS coming onboard Amazing to get me to read spider-man after the maximum clonage garbage. (mind you i LIKED most of the clone storyline until that point) but id rather not see a total reboot, a clean slate wipe. good stories can be (and are being) written with what's going on, and id rather see the current mythology built on, then watch them wipe the slate and retread the same dozen or so stories until they decide it's time for another damn reboot.
  14. double xp? dammit, i barely have enough time at levels with the xp im getting n*DING!* dammit... i think i just lev *DING* ... oh come on it was just one *DING!* now its getting ridic*DING!*..

    GRAGH!

    "The One"
*shrug* i can understand it. i dunno, mebbe im jaded. it just feels so easy these days to coast a character to 50. the bright side is the level grind is down, the not so bright side is i seem to level that much faster past stuff i want to do. for me the game gets going from the second im out of tutorial and can start whupping people. i know there won't be any changes coming down the pike anytime soon if ever, just voicing something *I* want. figured that was what we were shooting for round these here parts.
  17. dammit, i already spend two hours working on costumes! now im going to spend another couple hours just on power customization. not like i didnt ask for this, but i need to see the outside world eventually!

    wait...ill play by a window!
  18. ah hell, may as well chime in. new beginner missions/arcs for heroes running from 1-10, either a new zone or another one or two beginning contacts for villains. Couple more Villain-side exclusive SFs. I like the idea of more zones for villains, but then i see all the near-empty hero zones and would rather see some of those just opened up to villains. (like Boomtown, split into 3 sections. 1 each for Hero and Villain PvE, and the center or 3rd section is H/V PvP)

couple new powersets for each set, and not just proliferation. i've seen good ones suggested all the time, so ill leave what sets for who to people much better at it than i am, as long Magnetic and Energy Control sets are involved.

this is the one that may or may not get me shot, either dial back the xp gain or increase the amount of debt, or decrease all the ways to knock of debt. maybe it's just me, but we level so fast sometimes it's way WAY easy to miss content even if you try to take it slow. i know there is turning off XP, but i dunno, that doesnt seem like the fix im looking for. but that's just me. otherwise, im always good with more cooler costume pieces, and one day allowing us to slot the origin specific inherent powers.
  19. normally i don't care so much about getting handed the star, and when i do try to do as many missions as possible, not just mine. haven't yet had the amusement of really rummaging through AE yet with a team, been a busy couple months for me. just not all that fond of starting up the team myself, because what normally happens is i end up recruiting one or two other folks right away and end up waiting on someone else, and by the time THEY join, one of the first folks to join bounced on off.

not saying i haven't gotten some great PuGs going, just it can be real damn annoying at times. so what it boils down to... i is lazy.
  20. *sigh* well, there go my hopes for the "full speed collision" AoE power.
  21. dammit, i just got around to using stuff from the Tech booster pack. now i need to use stuff from the science and magic packs too? that's not FAIR!!! *sniffle* my creativity is lazy and i only have so much caffeine!
  22. wasn't going to be canceling CoX anytime soon, though it's good to see them offering the 12 month subscription with the bonus months again. didn't have the cash the first time around, but i should be able to scrape it together before the end of the month. would be nice to get into closed beta, but it's the beta, i don't see where all the complaining about not getting into when it first gets going is coming from.

  24. dammit, and i really wanted pancakes. ah well, time to burn down a dunkin; donuts and rummage for wake-up wraps. mmmm, bacony.
  25. i was told there would be pancakes and rum.
