Since there is a patch today, I was wondering if those 10 extra merits made their way into the build. I cannot seem to find mention of it in the last couple of patch notes.
Can't hurt to ask, right? -

Cut the XP in half for everything and soon people will find that farming regular missions works out better.

You know how often i see this comment and i cant help but as WTF is the point then? Look this really becomes a arguement about farming v not farming IMO. And what your basicly saying is make farmming a normal mission better then an AE mission.
I can just as easily, and have many times, run a level 2 to portal corp (infact its even easier now with SG teleporters) to get PLed in a farm as i can run a block to get to an AE building. Now you ask how this impacts though new players? Easy when running farms in the normal world, i have to pad a team up to get good spawns. So what do i do? I search for lowbies and ask them to join in for acouple minutes. Or even make a team and pad it with lower levels. Point being that i take 4-5 players off the grid to maintain a real world farm, when i need no one but my 2 accounts to maintain a AE farm that i am happy with my personal progress from.

Actually, it was being used as an example of what would happen. the rest of the quote is.

I am a farmer. I admit it. I farm SF's, TF's, missions. I farm for what I need to farm for. I am NOT anti farming. I AM anti-sucky player however, and that is what AE in the lowbie zones is breeding.
When I take three level 50 MM's on a SF, and not a single one can control their pets, I have a problem with that. When I try to help out a lowbie and teach them a few things, and the next thing I get is a tell asking you to help them level in AE, I have a problem with that.
And seriously, If you have to get people to pad for a normal mission farm, you are farming the wrong missions. There ARE some that will give you huge spawns no matter how many people are on the team. No, I'm not going to post them. -
I mean that they should start thinking of ways that the systems can be abused, misused and exploited. They are not thinking outside of their box in my opinion. Seriously, if you are going to allow people to do whatever they want, why would you think that they would not look for the easiest route to "victory" possible? Because they say so? Not gonna happen.
This latest exploit is laughable, and the n00b players coming out are horrid. -
What they needed to and still do need to do is start thinking like gamers and not like developers. So many things concerning AE should NEVER have seen the light of day. Cut the XP in half for everything and soon people will find that farming regular missions works out better. But then, the forums will assplode with people complaining about blind invites, PL spam in PI, bridge and fill requests all over again.

Not sure if this has been posted or asked. Concerning the Recluse stike Force.
After assaulting the Vindicator's base, you defeat Ms. Liberty. Upon exiting the mission there is a popup that says Arachnos troops take her away. The Very next (Final) mission has her laying at Statesman's feet. How and when do they get her back, and why would they just leave her laying there under Atlas? -
hmm, I am would love to, but I would want to be Calvin (AKA Ice9), but have no AR Heroes on this server.
Make it an SF, and I'm all in -

finished Kalinda's Arc that I had out leveled
[/ QUOTE ]
Bingo bingo bingo, we have a winner.
Presumably the arc (being for lowbies) is hard-coded (so to speak, I know it's probably an improper use of the term) to reward only TOs, and not a level-appropriate-typed enhancement. This is specifically the example I was thinking of, though at the time I could only think of Montague on blue-side. Yes, a contact like Kalinda would probably act the same way. Voila, high-level TO. Maybe you can snipe a transfer.
[/ QUOTE ]
May be hard coded, but if you pick up a mission at the right level, you can get the Nasty elder snakes which only spawn at 46+ I believe when you are in the 20s. . .or was it 30s. . . I had this happen to me when I was either going for my cap or my aura on one of my toons, had to complete the old arc first. About craped my self when I walked in and saw an elder snake standing there looking me in the face. . . I had to call in help needless to say.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's exactly what happened to me. I was lulled into a false sense of security by all the 34's in the early spawns. I figured, this will be quick enough, Opened with shield charge right into a lvl 46 Elder brick wall -
Jerk hacking, Rare dupin.
I would ask to see a screen shot of his enhancement screen. -
[ QUOTE ]
What were you doing, out of curiosity? I'm betting you didn't get it as a mob drop, but as a reward for a mission completion.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty Sure it was an Arc drop. I had just finished Kalinda's Arc that I had out leveled. Through the magic of Confusion, my level 39 Brute fought level 34 snakes, until the they jumped to level 46 midway. Then got a level 37 TO for completion. Not sure how that all worked out but hey, I now have a lvl 37 TO to go into my "rare" bin along with a few lvl 53's, and from back in the day. -

AE buildings out of Atlas, Galaxy and King's Row, yesterday.

This.

Yeah.
Let's also Nuke 'em in Mercy and Port Oakes.
Edit to add
[ QUOTE ]
This means Atlas Park, Galaxy City, King's Row, Mercy Island and Port Oaks. People keep citing "But I've done it levelventy billion times!" and conveniently forget that the POINT of this is to keep NEW people from getting sucked into the cycle of powerlevelling to 50
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. Those people who have done the lowbie Dev content oodles of times should know how to get to where the AE buildings are safely. -

Goliath, I *must* know how you get the custom font on your character name display. Does it also work for other UI elements?
[/ QUOTE ]
I use TweakCoH. There are separate settings for overhead text and GUI text. You've gotta play around with the font sizes a bit in some cases to get it looking just right, though. As for the overhead font itself, it's called Red Circle. I think it's included in the fansite kits; I downloaded it from a font site.
And regarding TweakCoH: it's a great program to have even if you don't intend to mess with the fonts. It enables you to change all the in-game display, graphics, and audio settings for both the live and test client while out of game; run various network diagnostics; and has some demo tools.

I've done the LGTF plenty of times over the past couple years, but he has never been this much of a problem before. Is this a bug? Is he supposed to be able to use Unstoppable that often, that quickly? What the frak?
[/ QUOTE ]
Although it is never gonna happen, it would be very, very interesting to see datamining concerning how often the Reischmann TF is actually being run. Right now, I'm thinking "Comparatively not much, probably."
All the time I get this:
"Hey wanna run ITF?"
"STF forming, want in?
"Lady Grey forming, want in?" [and dammit, this ALWAYS happens when I have NO time to devote to a TF.... oh well, one day....]
"You in for KHTF?"
"How 'bout a SpeedEden?"
I go to Cimerora: most of the time there is a team idled near the ITF contact, waiting for someone to zone in. Or its "ITF want in...?" there too. ITF every day, all the time.
Teams spotted at the Reischmann contact in FF 3+ days after i15 hits: 0. All night, every night. On both servers I frequent heavily, no one is trying to form this TF. No one /tells me asking if I want in. I am uncertain I have ever actually even seen the badge on anyone's badge-sheet when I'm looking over their info! I am 100% serious when I say that I do not ever think I have actually seen it on someone else's badge sheet.
I know that this TF has been run successfully by a few, that isn't my point. But what the anecdotal evidence looks like from over here is that interest in this brand-spankin'-new TF is minimal at best, due to its bad reputation. This seems like an extremely serious design-flaw as well as a waste of developmental time to me, but what do I know.
I do know that until this TF/SF's multiple issues have been addressed somehow, I have no interest in running it. It would be interesting to know how many others feel similarly. We won't ever know, but it would be interesting. It seems like you better bring eight Rad/rads or expect the consequences.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is all off-topic, but the TF, or the SF?
Because I see people forming the TF pretty frequently on the global channels I monitor and it's been called "the new Katie" at least once due to the ability to speedrun it.
The SF isn't run nearly as often, but I still see those forming as well.

20 merits and caves argh! Once they add the merits, it gets added to my nightly rotation. -
I stand corrected. No wonder I see times the times that I do. Issue 7 taught me to take debuffs into every AV fight. Those early Super Arachnoids opened my eyes to the value of -regen.
-
I never noticed that. possibly because of Vanden's Icon pack?
-
I can't think of a single SF/TF in the high end game that doesn't require some sort of debuffing. Well maybe the ITF if you don't mind it taking forever.
-
I used to. I can't tell you if I have recently, as I don't even bother opening that window anymore.

Torak also had an avatar reminiscent of WarCraft III's Muradin and was a generally memorable and very pleasant character. I do wish he'd stuck around.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe that avatar was Jim Duggan, who was a wrestler in the 80's and early 90's.
[/ QUOTE ]
It was? Didn't he say that was him? I remember he even changed it to a newer picture of the same guy at one point. Can't seem to find his old avatar, as his account page seems to have lost its pic. Think you can find a pick of this wrestler dude so we can compare memories?

Didn't his Avatar have those creepy flashing eyes? -
Sorry Mr Ocho. These boards have been know to swallow posts on occasion. I'm not used to having posts deleted.

So I am not crazy. I just got a lvl 37 Damage on my 39 Brute.
Thanks -
A while back, training enhancements were pulled from the higher end game. Does anyone remember the level at which that cut off was? I was under the impression that it was in the 20's
