OK Devs, you have shown us that you do remember that you can add stuff to Ouro. How about adding the Villain stuff like
Like Paragon of Vice
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Willy_...hnos_Personnel
Srikebreaker
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Lorenz...#Badge_Mission
and
All Mayhems
With all the XP smoothing and supersidekicking going on, it is very easy to out level lower level villain content, and have no way of accessing it solo. As these are needed for accolades, I cannot see any negatives. -
-
I somehow missed this.
Welcome aboard.
Since you are doing AE powers, Can I haz my /traps back now? -
Quote:It will only get changed if it gets too easy. From Issue 9
"Moving forward, we also want to periodically re-examine the state of Hamidon. Since Hamidon is an incredibly powerful, sentient being, it only makes sense that it (he?) should evolve from time to time. If players discover a critical flaw that makes raids too simple or monotonous, expect to see Hamidon evolve again."

I am one of those people that don't care about xp but do care about content.
Do we have any idea when/if missions that aren't story arcs will make it to flashback? A lots of the cool and unusual missions are offered to you after you complete a story arc.
I am glad about the xp smoothing, not glad about the xp boost.
[/ QUOTE ]Anything can be made Flashback, but the "completed" star checks for A) Souvenir clue or B) the Badge. If we did missions that were not Story Arcs and not Badged, then they would never show complete.
That said, I have no problem doing this if you guys don't. Just let me know what missions you want on Ouroboros and I will do my best to get them there.
They will only change Hami when players trivialize it. -

Quote:ah crud. I wonder which toons I am going to forget this time.
Just a reminder - this badge will be awarded per character, not per account, so be sure to log those characters into the game starting next Saturday, May 1st, if you want them to get the anniversary badge!
You guys need to fix this. -
All I'm saying is that we need about 40 people in The Abyss on time for villain raids to happen again.
40 People. Really, just 40.
Is our villain population so low that the people that can dual box are having to bring 25% of the raid? If so, how can that be corrected?
(*cough* Hero Side too)
I appreciate that there are people that do not like Hami raids. Heck, I know someone that doesn't but has still been showing up to help out. I appreciate that too.
Getting the word out. Perhaps we should we ask to have a Hami Raid post stickied and use that only. That way it can stay on page one. That's the only thing that I can think of as far as that goes.
I doubt the raid will be changed. For those that don't like it, I will say that it's a thing of beauty with high rewards (53 merits *more than RSF* or HO) and can be done very fast. Faster than the RSF actually, with no zoning. -

I'm being so critical of the "Getting the word out" issue because I'm in the same boat that others have mentioned, I usually don't know about a raid until just before it's going to happen (and I DO visit the forums regularly). This last one, I was barely able to prepare in time.
I'm also sore about how "We got the word out" was "spamming channels as the raid was starting." Suddenly, I'm seeing "We tried everything we could, then after some debate, we decided to forego the Redside Hamidon..."
...
I don't remember this debate, and I play fairly regularly. Heck, this thread is the FIRST we've ever started talking about it, and it's happening AFTER a decision was made to abandon it (which has inspired a new lively debate). I didn't hear anything about it until this past Sunday, where the news was passed by people who may not be exactly "in charge," but they sure as Hell are listened to very closely.
that was the second time it was discussed.
this was the first

What happened was, we would raid hero side, and have a decent turn out. The next week the turn out would suck. Over the next few raids, villain side participation dwindled, and the turning point was the weekend that I lost power. -
Only people that have been banned do not have access to the boards. Even those people can read it.

Quote:Protector's considered the "small town" server, and lately we're adhering to the worst elements of that mentality for some odd reason. We treat newcomers like outsiders,
Quote:we follow the lead of only a select few people... It's time we changed that. It's time we get back to being the friendly server I fell in love with.
Anyway, I think I am getting off the point. Anyone is free to setup a Hami raid, or any type of raid. It seems the only ones willing to do it are the "few select people".
Perhaps I should shut up, but I thought one of the purposes of these raids was to help people. Hami-O's are not as easy to get for everyone. For raids, 50 people can get them. I see people that are normally on the red side come to Blue Raids to help, but I do not always see the people that are normally Blue and were at a Blue raid, show up to Red raids.
That is what is grinding my gears. -

That is every attempted Kidengineer led raid for the year to date. It seems to me that we were alternating until people stopped showing up. Advertising has been on the forums, and I personally spam Protector Watch, Badgers Covenant, STF Masters, Jello Shooters , Broadcast and tells. The Hamidon channel is never used, I wonder if anyone even looks at it. These are the same steps used to advertise Hero raids. -
OK, people what's the deal with Villains and Hami? I started touching on it the other night in JS, but got kinda busy. What's the deal with participation on the red side? I saw mention of accolades and no villains in range, but that can't really be the issue now can it?
Hamidon.com is an open global channel that was setup for the express purpose of getting people in range red side. I have never seen anyone ask for help there. Accolades are not needed, but if you holler, I am sure that we can help there too. You do not need an uber build, a lot of my toons are still using SO's. All that is needed is for people to show up and pay attention to directions.
So I ask, what would it really take to get a consistant turnout for Villain Hami raids on this server? -

Quote:tl;dr:
Couldn't help but notice that when comparing the Hero Merit Rewards and the Villain Merit Reward pages from ParagonWiki, heroes tend to have higher amount of rewards per TF then villains per SF. Discuss.
Yup.
Been that way for a long time. Devs seem to have no intention on fixing the disparity. Heroes are happy. Par for the course.
The claim is that Villains can run all of their SF's in the time it takes for heroes to do some of the longer ones. I still laugh at that. Villains are penalized for the game design regardless of difficulty. Heroes can earn more merits by level 35 than a villain can by 40 without ever touching a story arc.
I don't see it changing any time soon.
Grabbing some popcorn now. -
Quote:I've told most of the people I hang out with already, but I know there's a few I missed, so that's what this is for.
I'm vacationing in Millennium City. There just isn't a whole lot going on right now and I17 doesn't impress me much. I'll be back when Rogue comes out, possibly a little before. This isn't the first time I've left for a spell (though it is the first since I started hanging out on the forums), and it probably won't be the last, but I always come back.
This is just a notification. Nothing sentimental, nothing emotional, nothing personal.
BBL,
Demon Shell
good luck with that vacation. Millennium city is a nice place to visit for about a week. -
I think something may be a little buggy with taunt. For the Hami raid, I was using taunt and blackwand. While playing, I have been watching things that are taunted continue on their merry way even with the starburst on their heads.
And I do see what you guys mean about shield scrappers and stealing aggro. I had one devil of a time grabbing aggro off of a 39 /shield scrapper.
Will do some more testing when I get home.
Thanks for the replies.
daggon typo -
Under what circumstances can a scrapper steal aggro from a tank?
Hami Raid on Protector, third bloom, mitos down. I am taunting Hami on my Invuln tank. Hami was perfectly fine shooting at me then a scrapper somehow stole the aggro. Any idea as to how that could have happened? -
Oh yeah, Great Raid Everyone. Nice job with the nuke grabbage, It made things less painful.
-
It's not buffs, it's AoE and cone capping. A nukes cap does not change if I remember correctly. I personally have mixed feelings about the AOE cap change.
-
Grabbed my nukes today, so we have 2 for now.

Every now and then I will check rep on a post. I looked and saw this gem
[This had nothing to do with farming, it had to do with PLing. You knew that already, though.] with a red dot attached.
Quote:Two birds, one stone. Farming does not equal powerleveling to me. Not even the slightest, you try convcing people on these forums that they are not one and the same and get back to me OK.Yank all the XP out and let it only give Infamy, tickets, and inspirations only. That won't stop the dedicated farmers either.
Oh, and YES!
I will PL my second account while ticket farming if I feel like it.
edit
Come to think of it, powerleveling IS farming. You are farming for XP. -
Quote:The patch should absolutely NOT be rolled back until they find a permanent solution.
I would think anyone who claims to care about the longevity of this game would understand why the devs had to put an end to people like me who made farms that turned AE into a shooting gallery.
I would hope for the long term benefit of the MA system people would be understanding of the temporary solution even if it hampers their ability to create original content.
I don't think it would be in anyone's best interest to roll AE back to a shooting gallery so some folks can fully express themselves by creating a mission with multiple hostage allies that would most likely not get played by more than 500 people.
Limiting your creativity in the short term to benefit MA in the long term seems like a very easy call to me.
But what do I know, I'm n00b.
I've only had an account for 21 months now.
So basically you want to let only those who can afford awesome builds farm. That's cool. This change does NOT affect my ability to farm one bit. I'm still capping on tickets and selling salvage for profit. This change is not hurting people who want to farm.
MA is on life support, I support putting it out of it's mysery. Yank all the XP out and let it only give Infamy, tickets, and inspirations only. That won't stop the dedicated farmers either. -
I used a bunch. I moved some less played characters from Protector to Virtue, Pinnacle, Triumph and Champion. Not because I plan on playing them more, just because I wanted more space on Protector. Too bad it was so long ago, I am almost full again.
