There there, Werner. *pat*
They talk in such a way as to incite such responses from decent-minded people who can't comprehend why they are behaving the way they are.
It happens to the best of us. -
Indeed. Being kat/regen, a decent bit of my DPS is killed by the need to use Divine Avalanche, along with weapon redraw after clickies, but even despite that, it's pretty high.
-
Out of curiosity, has anyone ever soloed 4 AVs at once? I think I might try that next...
-
Tried to two that Werner did, or the three that I did?
How was it on kat/fire? I never knew fire was any decent for AV soloing.
Edit: Also, insps/temps or no? -
Congrats! Not an easy feat by any means.
-
Nay! That's not the one I'm using. That looks more geared towards teaming and the like.
Here is the one you built for me.

As a side note, I have no problems with build copying, and I'm sure very few Scrappers here do. We're here, after all, to help one another, and when someone posts a build that looks optimized to the teeth for what you want to do, you might as well grab it. -
I am still using yours, and it has been working wonders. It was the first IO build that I had ever used, but I caught on pretty quickly.
Unfortunately, though, I'm still missing the PvP IO for +3% def to all, since it's been selling for upwards of a billion influence. Oh well, I've been doing fine without. -

Cg's man, out of curiousity, what is your build with your katana/regen?
[/ QUOTE ]
I can send it to you in a PM if you'd like. To be honest, Umbral is the one who built it for me, all I had to do was spend the money and then learn how to use it.
Thanks for the congrats all. I'm sure you could perform similarly, Werner, but I hear that you've shelved your Kat/Regen? -
Phew. It was a pretty fun fight, and it took me a few tries, but I finally did it.
After getting my solo AV count to 44, I figured I would try something new. I've seen a couple of signatures around here about fighting multiple AVs at once, so I figured I'd give that a go. As a Katana/Regen player, I kind of wanted to uh... beat what Werner had done with his Kat/Regen to my knowledge (no offense!). I'd seen his video of 2 AVs a while ago so I figured I'd give 3 at once a shot. The results were pretty pleasing.
The start of the fight.
Bobcat goes down.
Fighting Hro'Dtohz.
The Lord of War falls.
The last, boring fight.
Nemesis eats a Talsorian blade.
A chat summary.
The things Scrappers can accomplish! I'd like to again thank the people who helped me make the build that makes this kind of stuff possible, and thank the Scrapper community for being so awesome.
-
Do you happen to play on Virtue? :P
Yes, you'll be very happy to know Power Customization is coming out along with more proliferation.
Welcome back. -
Yes. Yes yes yes.
Umbral is the man to go to when it comes to DM/Regen, and for all sorts of other Scrapper things too. Looks like you don't need help anymore, since you've found that already.
Nothing to see here, folks. -
Indeed. I'm hoping that the power customization is applicable per-costume slot. If so, that's going to be amazing. Regen colors to match the auras/costumes of the each of my characters outfits?
Yes, yes please. -
If you're looking to solo a plethora of AVs, you will probably want to go with Fire/* or DM/*, since their damage types are resisted by very few AVs.
All of the other primaries can get it done just fine, but you are going to find that with lethal damage primaries, there are a quite a few AVs out there that will take a lot longer or just be plain unkillable because they resist your damage type.
If you are fine with this, by all means, choose any primary. Once you know what exactly you want we can help you further. -

besides werner and iggyi have never seen a regen solo avs without insps and temps. it will be nice to have another regen av soloer around
[/ QUOTE ]
Hello. There are others out there. Trust me. -
Happy Birthday!
I'll agree with the rest - the costumes are very well done. -
I can't speak for Super Reflexes, but for my Katana/Regen (who has a highly expensive build), Bobcat was the easiest AV out of all of the ones I have faced so far. I killed her on my first try, without any temporary powers or inspirations. I don't mean to bust your bubble or anything, but Bobcat has no resistance to lethal damage, so you are doing full damage to her whilst being softcapped against everything she has to throw at you.
Congratulations nonetheless, as it is still an accomplishment.
(edit: The opinion of a well known SR player was given as I was writing this, so, heed his words over mine)
-
Do you guys plan on doing this again sometime? I might like to join you.
-
To my knowledge, it is most beneficial to you to choose a Kat/ or a Broadsword/ when choosing */regen, because those primaries have the ability to soft cap your melee defense. If you choose Fire/Regen, you're really going to have to go all out with IOs to get defense for all three positionals, and in doing so, I'd imagine you would have to sacrifice a lot of recharge and damage.
If you're going fire and you want to solo AVs, I would probably go with Willpower. -
It depends on what you are doing and your personal experience with how much end you need. Most of the time, there is going to be adequate time between mobs for a good amount of recovery, and you won't need something like the Miracle.
Personally, I have a Kat/Regen with QR and Stam, so I have those slotted with performance shifters, end mods, and I still need a miracle elsewhere in my build. Why? Because I fight AVs, and constantly running every toggle to stay alive while using an endless attack chain tends to try to eat away endurance.
So basically, determine based on your personal performance so far whether or not you need to use it. If not, sell it. -
A good place to check for AV abilities and resistances is here. Just in case you want to check before wasting 20 minutes fighting an AV with 50% lethal resist.
Not that I've done that. >_>
