Fire/wp vs fire/reg late game
regen!!! just cause i dont like WP...
To my knowledge, it is most beneficial to you to choose a Kat/ or a Broadsword/ when choosing */regen, because those primaries have the ability to soft cap your melee defense. If you choose Fire/Regen, you're really going to have to go all out with IOs to get defense for all three positionals, and in doing so, I'd imagine you would have to sacrifice a lot of recharge and damage.
If you're going fire and you want to solo AVs, I would probably go with Willpower.

Ok I narrowed my next project down to these two until we get some new power set to play with in between my fire/sd
Late game if any one has any input
I can get both close to the same regen rate not exact but close using IO's etc so that is not a big issue (I come out overall more with wp but nothing to make me go wow) endurance is equal
With WP I planned out some builds I can get to 33% on type positions or close to on all the defenses plus 52% resistance to s/l a little resistance to other stuff psionic resistance and a plus some defense debuff resistance from heighten senses
con: no heal for big burst damage
fire/reg
I basically have two heals in recon and dull pain plus dp gives me a hp boost
i can get to roughly 20-22% to all three positional defense
I basically have two tier 9's with no crash in MOG and IH
About 24% s/l resistance with tough resilience stacked
con: no defense debuff resistance
So how does fire/wp and fire/reg hold up under stf; ITF and solo AV's
yes yes I know my katana/wp at 24 would be better at surviable but man I love fire and it's damage I am hooked

Regeneration has no debuff resistance to anything for that matter lol.

I have three level 50 scrappers, each of which has a niche:
Fire / Regen,
Spines / Willpower
Dark Melee / Super Reflexes
If I wanted to solo an AV, I'd go with the DM/Reflex scrapper. But this one wasn't that much fun to play until I got all three endurance IOs equipped. Now she's soft capped three ways, and can sustain the offense. She runs exclusively on level 50 content: SR does not exemp well IME, since you suffer when you lose Weave and when you lose entire categories of defense.
If a team with a tanker or controller wanted help with an AV, I'd choose the Fire / Regen. This one is made for pure damage: superior single target and decent AoE. I have tried to focus purely on offense here; trying to focus on defense would not yield returns equal to the expense.
To run a tough MA mission, the Spines / Willpower is the one I'd choose. This is my herdswoman; she holds aggro, can take an alpha, and has three different ways to debuff mobs with -recharge.
The Spines / Willpower and Fire / Regen both have Task Force Commander. The DM/SR never will, and in any case benefits the least from hit point bonuses.

As you see I have 5 scrappers at 50 I have two /sr's one is a dm/sr but right now my fire/sd is my av soloer and team he does both well for damage
I retired both my /da's I need another project to keep going until I get electric/sd on scrappers
I look at the numbers and I got an idea how they will perform but that is not the same as playing high end like I have with the other sets I am not worried about IO cost since neither will get a purple set and I can farm posi for anything I can't buy
Pinnacle
