Umbral is the man to go to when it comes to DM/Regen, and for all sorts of other Scrapper things too. Looks like you don't need help anymore, since you've found that already.

Right. If it's Umbral, it's top of the line and very well thought out. The trouble is, if it's been five years since you've played, you're not going to be able to afford it. Plus, you might want to know WHY its a good build.
Now, we could try to explain what you want and why you want it. But my suggestion would actually be to start with a cheap but well-designed SO build. The point is to get your feet wet again and get a feel for Dark Melee/Regen's strengths and weaknesses, so that you'll have a much better understanding of why we're building a particular way as the price starts increasing.
On the other hand, you may have 50 million lying around from last time, and you can do much better by spending some of it. So if you want, we can jump right to your first step up from SOs, perhaps a 20 million influence build with IOs, frankenslotting and non-level 50 cheap sets.
Mind you, I probably shouldn't say "we", because it probably won't be me helping you for the most part - I don't have a Dark Melee/Regen, and my expertise is kind of divided between the really cheap and the really expensive, because I level up really cheap, and then sometimes spec into something really expensive. So the in-between stuff is probably best left to others.

The link the Guides post seems to be dead, so...
It's been about 5 years since I played. I have my very old level 50 scrapper, and I am trying to figure out how to reslot skills, and what skills I should have for the most effective build possible.
Can anyone help me out with a more current link or a link to the character planner with a sweet build?
