Quote:This will make a few folks angry, but wth.He did mention a few times that he was (or had been) a Champions system PnP players, and essentially that was where Statesman (and I believe Nemesis) took form originally. Having 2 masters degrees he's obviously no dummy either. So again I'd have to agree with you on that point.
Having two degree's doesn't make you smart, it means that you are willing to spend time and money on a piece of paper. Just about anyone can do it. It's more of a willpower and time sink than anything else. My wife is doing her doctorate right now. Her current professor (and I use the term loosely) has no clue about Elementary School teaching and the methods used. So she is having to write what he wants instead of what is correct. Obviously this person who has a doctorate should not have one, but somehow he muddled through. Education does not make one smart. Experience makes one smart. Education just gives you the tools to get the experience.
My problem with Jack is that he will say anything to get the money rolling. As far as I can tell he has no ethics and very little in the way of morals. Add to that the fact that he is as hard headed as a hammer and you have someone who really just doesn't give a rat's behind about the customers other than to relieve them of their excess cash. I might try it, but it's pretty doubtful.
BTW River, 3.2 patch is out which lowered the mounts to 20. Not that it helps a lot since you still need about 50 gold to get one and I don't know many 20's with that much gold. It's still World of Walking slowly until 20, then it's the World of riding slowly. -

I hope you didn't get too attached to it.

The global chat thing seems to be related to the issues that Protector has been having this weekend. I experienced it several times while on Protector, but not once while I was on Victory.
-
I put a thread over in the Technical issues forum. It wouldn't hurt to go complain over there. It's a bit more likely to get noticed.
I tried to do a Numina Taskforce earlier. The entire team totally DC'd three times. The scary part was where we had Jurassic down to literally one hp and got a long LCMS message. I was about to scream when it finally came back with a task force complete dialog.
Totally useless trying to do anything on Protector for me. After the task force was over I went back to the Talos train station and it took me five minutes literally to make it to the Hospital to park the character.
Freaking ridiculous. -
Even after the Emergency Maintenance last night we are still having issues. It's so bad you can't hardly play on the server. Five to six LCMS messages per mission, plus at least that many stutters where the connection is interrupted.
I'd say it was my connection, but the whole team is experiencing it at the same time and we are scattered all over North America. One in Toronto, one on the West Coast and two on the East Coast.
Please fix the mapserver issues. -

It will be interesting to see how the Devs solve the side switching/money question. I can see several possibilities.
1. even trade- you have 1 million influence you get 1 million infamy
2. total loss- you change sides, you lose all your money. start over.
3. exchange rate- you lose x percent of your cash when you switch sides.
I'm sure there's other options but, as always, we'll just have to wait and see.

You missed option #4.
4. You keep what you have and start gaining the other type at 0. Basically once you switch sides you have both influence and infamy.
Totally illogical, but it is an option. -

Haha! You're as old as I am again.
Happy BDay Zek. -
Happy Belated BDay Charlie!!!

Well there is Network Maintenance tomorrow morning so maybe this will get smoothed out.
I know that the entire group that I team with regularly has been having this issue for the past two issues. Before that coX was pretty smooth. Now it is a laggy pit of despair when in an ITF. I know that the ITF is laggy any way especially in Lag Vally, but it used to not be quite this bad. During the Rikti raids last weekend it was horrid. rubberbanding and bouncing all over the maps.
*crosses fingers that this gets fixed soon™* -

Join globals. I assure you that Protector, my home for 5 years now, is NOT "all AE".
Find your own team - get down into the threads below, get on the globals, arrange things, get in supergropus, etc. Get to the right zone. People who are interested in PLAYING the game, will be in their correct zones already. Don't hang out in Atlas at 40 (say) and wonder why you can't find a mission team.

The list of global channels to join is stickied at the top of the Protector forums along with a calender and various other sundry important pieces of information.
If you can't find a team on Protector or Justice, you really aren't trying and you won't find one on any other server either. -
Why does it matter if you have a Rad or a tank or any other AT/Powerset for that matter?
I have done ITF's with every team makeup possible and never failed. To say that any one powerset or AT is needed is ludicrous. Cold does a gret job of debuffing. So does Thermal. And Pain. Just about any At/Powerset can tank on with the right setup. There are a few exceptions to that, but my regular group goes without a tank fairly regularly with a Kinetics doing the tanking chores. Does he die once in a while? Yes, but it's doesn't happen often. And no he is not Purpled out. I don't think he has a single Purple set in his build.
For that matter debuffing isn't a must have at all. Get one toon to move the healing Nictus away from Rommy and beat him down with sheer damage. Not that hard, nor does it take much longer. About 10 minutes longer max for all four fights than having a debuffer.
Another strategy that works is to have a tank hold Rommy and blast away from range. Works quite well if everyone but the tank is out of the range of the healing nictus.
One of these days maybe folks will get it through their noggins that there is no one set strategy needed to successfully do a Task/Strike Force/Trial. There are strategies that make it easier, but there is always more than one way to win. All it takes is thinking about how the game behaves and the tools that are provided. -
We did a (nearly) all VEAT ITF a few weeks back with a kin for endurance support. It was amazing watching the enemies just fold. The AV's caved like butter with just the little bit of debuffing the kin provided.
I'd come along, but my VEAT is on Victory. -
You can only have one power activate per keypress. The only exception to this is using Powexec_Auto.
The Incomplete and Unofficial Guide to Binds covers the rules for this behavior. If you are at all interested in keybinding it is a great companion. -
Oh the joys of Websense and social networking sites being blocked.
