Try putting your build in your search comments - sometimes it helps when people are looking for a particular build.
But as previous posts have stated, after joining a few teams, people will starting asking you if you want to team as they will have known how you've played - (provided you've made a good impression) -
Don't be afraid to put people on your friends lists also - especially Global Friends list - so you can ask for team if they're on. -

The only time I've been 'happy' with taking Flares is on my /fire dominator because I have to

OK Mr, you win -.- I was tired.
Even if it was optional at low levels, I still would have taken it for the reason I specified. -
The only time I've been happy with taking Flares is on my /fire dominator and it fits in nicely in my attack chain, causing my Domination bar to fill up at quiet a fast past - but saying that, that's what I aim for: to build Domination asap.
But as a corruptor, your aim is to get rid of everything asap.
Fulcrum Shifted Flares, anyone? -
Might take a while, but with your AoEs + Fulcrum Shift, you'll be defeating mobs at quiet a fast pace...you don't want that?
Also, because it's an AoE, it'll help you defeat mobs quickly, especially when used with Fire Breath and Rain of Fire because of your Scourge effect.
I say get the fiery ball of doom. -

Thanks for the numbers MaX. I thought it was less. In any case, imho the -def is not that big a deal in PvE except for a few mobs (or if you're trying to play way above your level). Same thing with RI, you mainly use it for the ThT_Debuf and really only enhance the Deb_Debuf if you have spare splots (or PvP).
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm, I'm sure the -def adds up when used with Earth powers. According to NoFuture, they give -20% to def, so combined with FR...o_o
At least if you're not gonna use it for the debuff, use it for the knockdown - you can never have enough control -

With both AM and Conserve Power in your locker, and maybe a little liberal slotting, would there be an arguement for non-Stamina?
[/ QUOTE ]
I would say take stamina.
Having both Conserve Power and AM is nice because you can alternate between faster end regen, and end discount. Since end regen from AM isn't as effective as the endurance discount, that's where stamina helps. -

ooh, only bad illusion controllers don't know how to manage knockback.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like my knockback...for me anyway, it's a [safe] method of controlling.
-
Hmmm The controller epic definitely increases the amount you heal...
-
I think you mean Power Boost - Conserve Power gives End Discount for a short while.
It boosts "disorients, holds, immobilizes, knockback distance, fly, run" by 100%. The villain version also grants +100% def and +100% Res according to a hero builder. -

Oh, and here I was hoping for something good.
[Edit] Found this though, havn't had the chance to read it all

Increased Dominator Melee damage modifier to 0.75 -- this increases their melee damage by 6.7%

Welcome back to the game mate -
I felt a lot more safer with SI than I did with GI.
It's a toggle so I can turn it off when I want and don't need to worry about it "running out". - Yes it uses more end, but it's nothing too drastic when slotted with ENDREDs.
If I could take both, I would have done (I like to be team friendly but also enjoy soloing), but I ended up going with SI. -

i think /ff is being overlooked, dispersion enables you to prevent all the squishies from being held/disoriented as well as all the def boosts. An earth bubble would be hell to solo but would be great team support
[/ QUOTE ]
Force field is a nice set. Problem with it is many people find applying the bubbles tedious and don't keep their team mates buffed. Some people drop the deflection and insulation field.
An example just today. I was in a mission with a SG colleague and a FF mastermind. He used the shields on his pets, never on his team mates, untill asked by my colleague to buff. He then used the shields once on my colleague. In the meantime I was keeping him and the rest of the team buffed with my shield. So even trying to set an example didn't help. We decided to go help some lower lvl heroes in the COH SG lvl.

Well said. What do you (not you, paragon, but everyone in the thread) mean about support? I know, you are speaking about support powers, but, support concept can't be associated at a single teammate. Support is a team-wide good way of play. My troller can support well with holds, heals, pa, etc... only if tankers support me taking aggro and blasters/scrappers kill fast, that is the best damage diminishing control power
IMO.
If you want to be a support player, be sure teaming with players that support you.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wanted to say this but didn't get round to doing it.
Support = Lockdown/Knock up/Knock down/Knock back/Phase Shifting/Whatever else = Forms of Control
By doing the above, you are supporting your team. Each set has it's own way of supporting, some better than others - but they all "support" the team in some way. The question then probably changes to, "Which has the best/most means of control".
Obviously it's also the player who makes the character, so as long as you do things effectively, you should be able to support your team no matter what you do.
Saying that, Ice control's secondary effects are that it slows mobs, and Earth control reduces mob defence.
If you're thinking more helping team members on a more player-to-player basis, well, that's what our secondaries are there for. -
[ QUOTE ]
Id agree with you that Earth tops the lot for "control" (maybe alongside mind)
However, we are talking "support". Some of the Fire / Ice powers debuff/damage - not control, but great support.
[/ QUOTE ]
Righto, I understand you better now. -
Earth/Storm is great for teaming as you have many, many tools to keep your foes occupied.
Mind would be another great primary.
@Cognito, Fire and Ice control do not have the same capabilites as Earth for controlling! Ice is more closer to Earth, but I'd say Earth tops them all for control. -
I would take out the EndRed in Psionic Dart and replace it with an ACC.
You don't need to slot Entangle with damage enhancements. (Personally I don't think you even need that power to be effective)
Put an extra RECHG in Seeds - this is going to be your opener.
With Vines, I would slot it 2 ACC 2 HOLD as it's more useful when fighting +3s. No need for recharges as Mass Holds have become "Oh Sh*t!" powers.
Take out the DMG enhancement in Creepers. Replace it with ACC.
No need for a RECHG in Fly Trap!
I would slot Drain Psyche for EndMods to begin with, until you get Power Sink.
This is my personal preference and what I've found to work both with being a plant/ and a /psi.
Seeds last a pretty long time with that slotting, especially with SOs. PS will finish them off quick enough, especially since they will be attacking each other too.
Sorry if I appear blunt, I'm rushing!! -
Didn't realize you'd posted that Dark Elf!
I have a Gravity/Psionics dominator too and got to 40 without stamina.
Like Mias_Elfling, Drain Psyche and Domination covered my Endurance issues. -
Currently, I have Strangler, Seeds of Confusion, Vines, Spirit Tree, Carrion Creepers and Fly Trap. I used the respecs to test out the other powers and found them to be pretty, in a word, useless within my playstyle.
Strangler deserves the whole six slots - 2 ACC 2 REC 2 HOLD.
Vines is my "Oh [censored]!" power, and so don't feel the need to slot more than 2 ACC. I may slot an extra ACC in the future though, because when I use it, I want to make sure it hits. I use it more to hinder enemies, rather than a full-on hold, ie i may follow it up with Seeds as soon as they're recharged.
For creepers, 3 REC 2 ACC should do the trick, add a slow for good measure if you want. I went against IMMOB because the point of the creepers is to knockdown (A better method of controlling than immobilizing) I would go against damage because, a] You're whole secondary is damage and b] The creepers do accuracy checks, as amongst everything else, a vine spawns for ever defeated mob. Also the vines throw thorns which slows down mobs, so you want it as a form of control first.
With Seeds, you can go with 3 REC 2 ACC, adding an extra slot for ACC or CONFUSE DURATION. (The former works fine for me)
The pet is more annoying than useful - I think I like him as more of an accessory- anyway....3 DMG 2 ACC should be fine.
I took Spirit Tree because I had nothing else to take - I feel is does help in weird way, although causes a massive obstruction. 3 HEALS is the way to go. The team shouldn't be bad enough to put RECS in this, unless you're planning to PvP. -
Plant/Fires have all the fun as a dominator -
Great controls, Amazing damage (for a dominator :P), AoEs/Cones that you can use safely - I couldn't ask for more! (Well, maybe, but that's for a different thread)
This is the only dominator I have which I don't find difficult grinding with - heck I even enjoy soloing with him which is very very rare.
You are very squishy, but, as a plant dominator, you have your ways of mitigating damage using sleeps, immobilizes, holds, knockdowns and confuses. If you are careful, you can go a long, long way.
They're gameplay IMO is a bit more agressive and head-on than controllers (at least in earlier levels - until controllers get their Epics.).
Any other questions regarding the set, feel free to ask. -

I don't think faster domination is the right solution either, I just think it is the one the devs will go for.
[/ QUOTE ]
_Castle_ from the US boards mentioned it will be a "general buff, though the nature of the change will help on Recluse SF".
So I agree with you - I think domination will be built faster/slower depending on the type of mob (Minion, Lieutenant, Boss, etc...).
