[QUOTE=Arcanaville; That's not an idle guess. Its something that, off and on, I've put actual time into thinking through. I even have a rough idea of how the framework would work. It all comes down to normalizing the value of every kind of attribmod of every power in the game relative to the primary balancing metrics of the game: specifically kill speed and survivability envelope. Rather than trying to balance thirty thousand powers in the game, you'd only need to balance about 50-60 "micro-powers" that all other powers are constructed out of. That's like a six month project, rather than a sixty year one.[/QUOTE]
I so want to playtest that game. -

Been a fan of Wild Cards for years, I definitely recommend them.
Also worth a read is Superheroes, a superhero anthology. -

I too will be giving this pack a pass.
Value for price is simply lacking when compared to the previous booster packs.
Either lower the price or add content if you want my money. -
Quote:In light of these, I support option 1.Just so we're completely clear, the hypothetical 'new' pieces would look 100% identical at distance, use essentially the same geometry, and differ only in the sense that they look crisper/cleaner/sharper up close. There would be absolutely NO impact to a toon's theme because there'd be no discernable aesthetic change.

Castle, thanks giving us this opportunity for input. Some great ideas so far. I'd like to add:
Trick Arrow: a non-tech look for the arrows - maybe energy arrows or arrows tipped with mystic crystals
Archery/Trick Arrow: the KoA wrist crossbow animation and costume part
Devices/Traps: again, something less high tech looking for those origins it clashes with.
Ninja Run: something that doesn't shout "I'm an anime ninja", perhaps a "beast run" animation and a "trained athlete" animation. -
Here are a few of my favorites that no one has mentioned yet:
Sinfest
Something Positive
Skin Horse and Narbonic
Freefall

Except if you pay by credit card, the name registered to your Battle.net account is the one on the card. So how exactly are you supposed to give Blizzard a fake name?

This mask, which according to the costume text files is called "Mask 1". It differs from the currently available masks in that the mask does not cover the chin and lower jaw.

There were also a bunch more masks labeled "Mask 2", "Mask 3", etc. Some of those got renamed when the new masks were put in, but I doubt this was the only one left out. -
(I know, like you haven't seen enough of these right?)
I just ran into an issue the other day, it may be more about production than marketing, but I figured you could at least forward it to the right place.
A buddy of mine plays CoH casually, and for his birthday last week I wanted to get him something game related. Since he doesn't own any of the Super Booster sets I thought one of those would make a good gift.
Except it turns out there is no way to gift a booster pack. The online purchase can only applied to your own account not someone else's account. Nor is there any kind of NCsoft gift card I could purchase in its place.
It seems to me that creating some way to gift booster packs and the like could only help sales. -
Great idea. I didn't know about the "dialog_" command.

Looks like I hit the Jackpot!
If I am a winner, I permit NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited to use my name, likeness, photograph, hometown, and any comments that I may make about myself or this contest that I provide for advertising and promotional activities. I also certify that I am at least 13 years of age and am eligible to participate in this contest. -

Okay we're all here. Now where's that jolly old elf?

Specifically with the Nemesis Staff, the animation seems to be turned upside down. That is the staff is pointed toward the ground when it appears and is then swung upward. I haven't tried out the Blackwand yet.
Steps to reproduce: use the Nemesis Power, it was occurring 50%-75% of the times I used the power. -
Speaking of that old thing, I'd love to see an official and updated stand alone costume editor from Paragon (the City of Hero costume editor had to hacked to read it in English). Maybe with some sort of yearly licensing so you get updates when Sexy Jay and crew create new items.

But, but you just got here!! (Checks calendar, sees Niv has been here a few of years now.) Oh, never mind.
Seriously, congratulations on the new position and good luck. You'll be missed here.

Welcome Syfy.
Lots of great advice in the last few pages which I won't bother to recap.
But I will toss out one piece of advice which has tripped up a few of my frinds when they started out. If you look on your zone map you will see symbols such as T (tram) and F (ferry), these are used to transition to other zones and, unlike some MMOs, you can use them even if you've never been to that zone before.
Also this game is very forgiving, don't be afraid to try different things out. -
