  1. If you see me on, I'm up for it. But, July is too far away for me to plan for game time.
Either way, you're going to have a blast. Especially Eden. That's truly one of the best trials/tfs the game has -- of the ones that have been around since late 2006. I'm still working my way through the newer ones.

    Spring Cleaning!

If nobody else will tell you, or hasn't yet, let me be the first. It's a very nice thing to let us know. Thank you.
  3. For those of you who don't recall, ED refers to enhancement diversification. As a returning player (it's been far too long) I find that Paragon City's economy is totally revamped (from a depression to inflation!)- I've never had so much influence, but never been so unable to buy the things I wanted!

So, I ask myself, Apocalypse, the ranged damage "Superior" invention origin - is it really worth it? The damage these enhancements offer don't really stack up - do they? I'm asking from a position of ignorance.
I know numbers; I can do math. What I'm wondering is if that .75 % mez resistance or whatever tiny token number it might be (stacked with 0% on my blaster, lol) - is that worth the trade off of less damage?

My blaster is just about fully slotted with HO's. So, I don't really save any slots. Is the loss of damage and in some cases accuracy justified by the tiny bonuses?

I'm pretty sure the answer is "it depends", but I'd like to know what the opinions are.
  4. As someone who has taken a step away from the game (and, ergo, Liberty Server), upon my return, I feel I need to tell you all that my gaming experience has gotten better.

I tell you this because many of you are responsible - those on the LB and SisterhoodFriends channel have helped immeasurably.

Sure, the devs had their part, but I suspect that without the player base to give constructive suggestions, that part may not have been so large.

Now, let me put it in writing. Liberty, we have some very talented players! I used to think I was fairly capable, but there are some blasters and scrappers that have simply outclassed me. (I'll try to catch up, just need some more purple I/O drops.)

So, give yourselves a collective pat on the back.

Really? That would be very kind. So what might you be doing Tuesday or Wednesday evening? (June 1 -2)
  6. I'm in agreement. I left the game for awhile, and came back. There's a lot of things the devs have done very well, and with regards to badges, there's some things that are just plain silly.

As a returning player, I see a progress bar for a badge, I'll see what's needed to fill the bar, and try and get the badge. But, I really don't think that's what I'm paying my money for. I'm paying to see the effects of a kheldian nova blast. To hear the bitter freeze ray of my blaster. All these things go together with many others to make up the game.

I think, if we find ourselves logging on, just to leave the keyboard so we can get a badge, then we're being a bit silly, aren't we?
I have to admit, I've done all these things - rest in front of a level 52 natterling, or a level 52 carnie or CoT, just to get all that damage. Ridiculous really. In fact, I was under the impression that a damage taken badge was a badge to disdain. It was, before badges got really popular, a badge that said, "Look at me, I am so bad at this game, I get beaten up alot!"

So, my character has logged in on patrol over 3800 hours now, and that's with about 3 1/2 years off.
For me, I'm going to just let the badges stand there and do nothing. I'm going to play the game for the fun of it.

If the quest for badges frustrates someone - they should stop worrying about them. There are so many badges now, that you pretty much need to have about 600 for any hard core badger to take you seriously. Might as well just roll a defender, and enjoy the game for the fun of the bad guy's dialogue, the mood music as you travel from zone to zone.

    Have a nice day.

    digital copy

All very good answers, I thank all of you. I was debating on downgrading from Vista back to xp because it would use less memory, and at the back of my head is that huge download time. I guess I'll just have to pony up the cash and buy more RAM.

    digital copy

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I'm curious - how long will it take to download this digital copy of going rogue? Obviously, it will depend on dsl/cable connection and such, but I would hate to get this digital copy, and then find myself waiting for 12-14 hours, when I could buy a cd that could install it much faster.

Just looking for a rough guess.

Edit: Please forgive my ignorance of shorthand, but what's OP? As in "All Mentors will be OP in this channel, named "N P C" "

It does my heart good to read that you are volunteering. That's important stuff, keep it up!
  10. I look forward to the end of May.

I think AV is right about the distractions from this distraction, CoX.

Once everyone is back from Vacation, graduation and out of jail or whatever, then this will likely be attempted and be successful.

Anytime between 1030 PM -1:30 AM Central is good with me.

    Just wondering

If I offended, I do apologize. Despite the fact that English is my first language, I've yet to master it. I must have conveyed some notion that I didn't intend.
I don't know Micki, or GEL or Outlaw Womanbut I'm sure they are wonderful people and players. I don't know anyone on these forums, really, except Steele and Valor, and I have never met them in person, so I don't really know them either.

I meant to express that I missed those players, not that I shall treat you all with disdain because we've never teamed up or dealt a killing blow to the mitos and Hamidon together.

I will try to be more clear with my writing. I thank you for your patience in dealing with an insufferable lout such as myself.

I am available for teaming with anyone, when I have the time, (which is most late evenings) whether you have a pressing matter to attend to, or not.

In fact, I am looking forward to teaming with many of you; you can show this old blaster some new tricks.

    Just wondering

I haven't seen what used to be a fairly prominent SG in Liberty, nor a lot of pretty good players. Hakster, Peace on Earth, Secondary, Dianeces and other US Marines of Paragon. Anyone know if they're still in game?
  14. I should be coming in from work at about 1030 pm central. If you need a blaster, scrapper or controller, give me a holler. I'll likely be doing nothing except badge or base construction, so it would be a welcome interruption.
  15. I want to take a minute to apologize to those who I may have offended in my last post in this thread. I got to thinking about it after I left, and wanted you folks as a whole to know that though there are certainly some missions that I enjoy more than others, your efforts are not unnoticed, nor are they unappreciated. At least, not by me.

I guess I was reacting to something through my own individual filter and the wrong message came across. And you're absolutely right, FredrikSvanberg, I haven't been a part of the solution. My post did not help.

So, please, continue to plot, play and inform us of what should be addressed, if not altered. After all, if we don't tell the devs what we would like, then we might not have the wonderful game that we do. Consider my mouth closed, except to praise those who make the game fun.
  16. "Clearer TP beacons PLEASE. I use an overlay so I can read arcane ones but it really is guess work"

I have returned to the game after a very long time, and I was hoping that there had been a solution to this.

The bases, without PVP raiding really serve only a few purposes.
    1. Something to do - build it, design it, decorate it.
    2. Provide convenient transport from base to whatever zone.
The rub is, you have to figure out which beacon stands for what zone. You can click on the teleporter to see which one, or click on each of the beacons. Other than grouping the teleporters alphabetically, or by levels, (Galaxy with Atlas, Steel with Skyway, that kind of thing.), I've yet to figure out how to know which one to use without just memorizing them. And, once I do, what about newer members? Must there be a learning curve?

Please, don't misunderstand. I'm not complaining. I'm just wondering (and wandering the forum) to see if there is a better way to lay things out. Any ideas?
  17. Thanks very much, all of you. It helps me to remember that there are some actual people controlling the toons I see in game, and that some of them are quite clever (to put things like that together).
  18. Hmmm. Folks, let us simply be grateful that we have the MA system. Let us also be grateful that there are players who create content for us! For nothing more than the fun of it. (Ok, the badge might be their fun)

Let us not worry about how many stars we got or did not get. Very few of us could sell our opinions for money. That is to say, comparisons are just not a good idea. Someone will always fall short in a comparison in the natural world, will they not?

Just play the stories you like. Rate them highly if you think they earned it. If not, don't.

Perhaps the Hall of Fame is an ideal that you simply are not meant to achieve unless you're very, very good at creating the right story lines at the right time.

But, let's get very real. It is still the developers that have made this game as supernatural as it is. To think that I could be playing (insert any popular arcade game here) at an arcade for 25 cents a game! What is that, compared to the awesomeness of this game?

I'm counting my blessings, as of late. One of them is being able to play this game.
  19. I recall about 4 years ago, maybe 3 and 1/2. A gentleman who played a tank created a video with dancing freaks and other toons he played with. Anyone know where I can find that? I thought it would have been stickied for sure.
  20. Only 19 tailor sessions? I have 71! After building so many toons, I think I can get them right the first time.

    Hamidon Raids

I look at Hamidon Raids as church fellowship for my character. It's a social time, while blasting, or holding or dropping pets. Without Hamidon Raids on a regular basis, the folks that have only recently gotten to 50 may never know what it's like. Nor will they know what we are about.

The zone cap at 50 is definitely new, and disappointing. But, not insurmountable. It's a challenge. We'll adapt and try to overcome.

In the meantime, let's set a time - once a week or everynight - just so long as we have a time set. Let's be regular and consistent. No one time is going to be good for everyone.

I've still got my ill/rad troller on the rock in position. (plus other alts that could contribute in smaller ways. )
  22. I have returned after a prolonged absence. I've perused the Liberty forum and perhaps haven't read the same things or not in the same context. But, I wasn't really looking for anything to jump out at me.

I think that if there are ..issues that need to be addressed, before doing so, let's consider if this is something important. Other than profanity or ill-made costumes on characters, I can't think of too many things that would be worth getting upset about.

This is a game. A great game. And each player is a wonderful person, in their own way. As long as we remember (or figure it out eventually) that neither the forums nor the game chat channels are a place for a rant. A rant is best saved for Saturday mornings at large discount retail stores.

I applaud the original poster for trying to get folks to get along. If noone tells us where we're going wrong, we just might not figure it out on our own.
  23. Thanks. My Nvidia 7300 has been acting testy (lots of flicker from time to time), so I've been playing in safe mode. I just couldn't see it.

And thanks to DarkGob for giving me the benefit of the doubt.
  24. I'm not at all sure of what you're talking about. App as in application? To do what?

Might be nice to have a CoH coffee maker, or something useful..
