  1. This could be my individual perception, but I noticed that when I solo ToT'd, I got 14 costumes in an hour, 5 tips and maybe 20 tricks. When I teamed, I got one costume and one tip and countless tricks.

I don't seem to be alone in the thinking/observation that soloing the ToT process seems a better way to get the costumes, but teaming is a better way to get the defeat badges.
Not to mention the time it saves when trying for the banners.

What were your thoughts on the efficiency of the Fire/Rad vs the kinetic? (though the kinetic team still needs a few levels for any comparison to be fair)
  2. If there is any difficulty in getting a blaster (damage) or Controller (debuff ) or Defender (buffs ) or Tank (aggro management), I'll be happy to help. But, I've had a turn already and don't want to take a spot someone else wants.

Put me down for a last minute alternate. @Ukase Rex
  3. Here's what I did:

I started in a level appropriate zone with diff set at +1/1
I clicked on a door. Trick.
I clicked on a door. Treat -> Scrapyard Costume
The costume comes like a temp power. I activated it.
I clicked on a door. Treat. --> Hellion costume.

after maybe 4 or 5 doors that were treats, (maybe 5 weren't) I got a tip.
I did that mission, got a badge.
I ToT'd some more maybe 4 doors? Got another tip.
    rinse and repeat.

Took maybe 45 minutes to get the 5 badges plus the accolade. (and some nice halloween salvage and Very nice crafting salvage. )

Now to trade in the salvage.
  4. Is this where someone says reduce your settings to Horus? Yeah, I'm on top of the basic costume - where None is selected every time it's an option. No hair, no cape, no nothing but a plain ...I guess it's a tight jumpsuit. I can't bring myself to call it a leotard.
  5. Heh, I was never under the illusion that it would be for all. But, then again, I'm just an observer of all the foolishness. Matt may open it up to some of the ...controversial? mods of LB. As for the last part of the question, I wouldn't have the slightest idea.

As of right now, LB, LFA and SisterhoodFriends seem to me to be the exact same channel. Everyone pretty much belongs to at least two of the three, and they have pretty much identical TF forming requests.

    Enjoy your day. : )
  6. Well, if LFA lets just anybody in, they would have the same problems as LB. Would they not?
  7. 1) Are you interested in seeing regularly scheduled blueside Hami raids? Why/why not?

Yes. Because I like the idea of getting 53 merits in less than an hour.

    2) Are you interested in leading Hami raids/a raid team? Why/why not?

No. A couple of reasons. I have a difficult time typing out what to do, where to do when I have to do things with my toon. I'm a hunt and peck typist, and although I can get 30 wpm, with toon activity going on, monitoring battles, etc, it's just not something I would do very well. The other reason is connectivity issues in heavily populated events like hami and MSR. For whatever reason, I get the nap serve followed by d/c. Also, there's a good bit of detail and I haven't learned all of it because of the above 2 reasons.

    ********

Edited this in after a days reflection:
I could use binds, I suppose, to compensate for the typing issue. But, there is still a matter of connectivity during high population times. I'm working on this - shopping around for a new MB with memory - although I'd like to salvage the memory in this system, that may be wishful thinking. It's just going to take some time. For now, other expenses have a much higher priority.

You talking 1 or 2 AM eastern time?

Working the odd hours that I do, I'm real curious how many more players are on at that early/late hour.

I got invited to the new LFA channel. I was kind of dubious about this because I've seen a lot of attempts to start a new Liberty channel in the past, but I eventually agreed to join the channel. I turned down becoming a mod for this channel, however, partly because I'm not sure whether it will last, and partly because being a mod for LB is already more than enough responsibility.

A lot of drama erupted on LB after I silenced a former mod for rude behavior. This former mod logged in some alt account that still had op status, gave his main account operator status, and kicked all the current LB mods from the channel. I tried to keep relatively calm about this, as I was worried I'd do actions I would regret if I lost my cool. But the truth is, I felt pretty bitter and angry about the situation. I had put a lot of effort into trying to do a good job as LB moderator, and I know I've lost old friends and made new enemies in the process. Having a former mod abuse his power because he felt he shouldn't have to follow the rules really made me mad.

I had pretty much gotten reconciled to the idea that I didn't need LB and was better off without it, when one of the other mods asked me to rejoin LB and gave me back moderator status. Apparently the guy who was causing trouble left the channel after his tantrum, and we ended up picking up the pieces after that.
Honestly, PW, I think you probably earned a great deal of respect from a host of players for the way you handled the mod responsibility. If you lost friends over it, I'd say they weren't really your friends.
  10. Despite only 6 entries, I know there are many more creative types out in the land of Liberty. I know this because I read the bios of every toon I see, teamed or not. It's just that not everyone comes to the forums on a regular basis, and some just aren't willing to put the time in for a story that's simply not as good as the one posted previously.

    Grats to the winners!
  11. As there are no task forces in Praetoria, there's no real reason to worry about holding anybody up. However, I think it would be good if everyone that hits level 20 turn off xp until everyone else hits level 20.(Of course, you could keep xp on and just not go through the portal. )
If we have a few folks that aren't at that point, if the rest of us go hero side, those left behind won't be having very much fun, I wouldn't think.

I'm sure we'll cross that bridge once we get there, but it's something to consider.

    Why?

Sure, I get that, I'm working on the last crafting badge now - but I realize that I'll be playing this game for a long time. I don't need the badge today. Nothing will change that would impact my life if I had it or never could get it. So, I'm patient and figure I'll just craft the things my alts and sg folks might need or want. Sooner or later, I'll have the silly badge.

It's too simple, though. You know it will cost anyone a specific price to create this IO. There's no way around it. It's going to cost you that much. Why sell cheap when anyone else that wants one would have to pay that much? Sell it for the same price. They save themselves the hassle of crafting, and the expense of buying salvage if they would have needed it.

Supply and demand will, of course, have their impact. If everyone sold at the same price, it might take a good while for items to sell. So, folks sell cheap to get a faster sale. That, I get. But 1 inf for something that cost 440k? When I play the market, I ask myself, What if this was real money? Then play it accordingly.

When you price things that cheap, people will buy it and sell it for a normal price. Why give away your inf?
  13. Ukaserex

    Why?

I'm just curious. The market is full of things that are underpriced. If it costs 440k to craft an IO - why would anyone sell it for less. Even if you're a crafting maniac and can craft it cheaper because it's memorized, why would you sell it for less than what it cost to craft it?
If it's a sense of altruism, then do this with the purple sets, not the level 15 PBAoE's or level 20 accuracies.
    I just don't get it.
  14. Children - is any of this worth your time? My time?

LB has it's share of problems. This is because LB has people on the channel. The same thing that makes LB no fun is the same thing that makes LB useful. People.

LFA is a channel Matt created to hopefully spawn an environment without some of the more vocal ....jokesters trading insults. LFA will either do well, or it won't. I sincerely doubt that there will ever be a "perfect" channel for all of Liberty. We're too diverse in age and interests.

Now both of ya, pipe down, log in and play the game.
  15. Well, I was strange before I read the whole thing. There are several SGs that use vent and the only time they chat in the box is when they team with someone who's not in the group, as a courtesy to keep the non-sg player informed.

There's AlphAStryke, which has at least one married couple in it. They are selective, in that they won't invite just anyone without going through their process, whatever that may be.

There's AWOL - I know they have vent, but that's about all I know about them, other than their leader is a super nice fellow.

Project Obsidian Operations uses vent and play across multiple servers.

There are a host of others who I am sure would be thrilled to have an experienced gamer in the ranks. I'm sure they'll chime in.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to get you reacquainted with the changes.

  17. Thanks to Draygos, Amygdala and theOcho, and everyone else that helped with the CoP. Those that allowed us to use the vent servers as well, thanks very much.

    Hami Raid

I'm very surprised that with the reactivation weekend that more of the returning players didn't try for a piece of Hami. I've spoken with a few that were on LB, but perhaps some of them never were a member of the channel or just never heard about it.

I knew the raid would go well, simply because you took the time to "Cover all bases". I won't miss the next one.
  19. Didn't you have XP turned off for a bit, too?
  20. I'm having the same issue, on Liberty. I'm pretty sure the devs know what's going on, and as soon as they get a fix, they'll shut the servers for a moment, fix the problem and that will be that.
  21. The answer to your question is yes. Heroes will always dominate the playerbase, in my opinion, because it's more psychologically pleasing to play a hero. There's none of the gloom and doom that red-side has.

Just my opinion, nothing more. Totally without value. Still, hero side is where the action is.

I had no idea we could report people for foul language.

Let me take a moment to thank the original poster for asking our opinions on what's appropriate and what's not.

    My opinion:

Here's a caveat: If you have to ask, the answer is usually no. I can see talking a little trash if you're roleplaying a bad guy/girl. However, just because you're roleplaying doesn't mean I should have to be your acting buddy. I've got my filter on, and still I get a lot of trash through broadcast and public and private channels. People aren't deliberately trying to offend me, I just have an increased sensitivity to it as a Christian. Do what's fun for you, and try not to talk "salty" to kids. If you offend me, I just ignore you, and my problem is solved.
  23. Resistance or Loyalist? Or do these "choices" make no difference at all once you go blue side?

Sadly, I am scheduled to leave for work at 11 pm central on Saturday night. For some unexplainable reason, there are several churches in the area that want a billion dozen donuts. (not exactly that many, but it seems like it.)

Knowing that you are also overworked and are pretty much unavailable (or so it has seemed to me) until the wee hours, I'm not thinking we can do this. Too bad. However, perhaps another night? I've got 3 toons at 48 (zethan, Fire/rad 'troller), 47 (Cantankerous, Stone/fire tank) and 46 (Galactic Keggar, Clumsy/Inept Warshade), so any one of them could pitch in on a kill all or even a kill 7. Or 3. However many or few it takes.

Saturday and Sunday nights are the worst for me.

This is a convenient time. Not as convenient as Friday night, but I can and will make it to this.
