Well, wonders are never ceasing with my work schedule. Off on Tuesday night again! So, another MSR is planned.
April 12, Tuesday, 10pm eastern, using the league format. My main Ukase Rex will lead this time. Hope to see many of you - but honestly, given the lag this past Friday, not that many!!
Given that RWZ is one of the coop zones used for BAF and Lambda, I will try to start the MSR in RWZ 2, but if there is no instance of it, it will have to be in RWZ 1.
One way or another, I'm sure things will work out. -
With regards to the advice given by Hazy, Horus and Arbegla, not necessarily in any order:
My best advice is to heed their advice.
Also realize that the only failure is in not trying, despite what the words on the screen tell you when too many mind-washed prisoners escape. -
Thanks to all who showed up for the MSR. A little slow out of the starting blocks, using the League format gave me a bit of a learning curve.
It should save time for us in the future. The raid leader can invite everyone who's raiding to League, then move them to whatever team he thinks best.
I didn't do much of the moving folks around, except to have solo players moved to fill out other teams. Still, it's a nice option to have. -
What:MSR
When: Tuesday, April 5th 10pm Eastern
Who: Up to 50 toons, all levels and alignments
Where: RWZ, of course.
Why: Vanguard Merits, Shards for some, xp for the others, possible purple recipe drops.
Once again, I plan to tease the Rikti, letting them know what pylons we're gonna knock out before we actually arrive at those same pylons. My guess is they will once again, be too overconfident and amass no forces to stop us until we're actually on the ship.
Despite my silly desires to take the pylons out in numerical order, I'll be leading us through them in geographic order, counter-clockwise (sorta).
Pretty much just like last week, only this time, I plan to lead with Confidence. (my very first 50, emp/elec defender) -
Slowly, the rustiness is fading. I got one, got me a 5.0 rep bounty, whatever that is. Mind you, that was using all manner of empowerment buffs from my base.
That was one on one. After that, sadly, it was three on one, or maybe it was everyman for himself, but they decided to take out the weakest link first, lol.
Soon, in about a year, I'll have caught up after having been away for so long, then a little more time after that, I'll have to try and get cutting edge PvPish and all that. -
I almost forgot what few manners I have.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to make Tuesday's MSR a nice one.
A special thanks to Young Paragons SG for showing their support.
As for me, I got well over 500 Vanguard merits and three shards. Pretty nice for about 40 minutes. -
My new level 6 brute has the Atlas park mayhem mission. I won't run it until I catch some of you on so you can get it.
-
Personally, I applaud your efforts to share what you know about PvP with those that may not be educated in that arena, pun intended.
But, I think you should be aware that your scheduled time conflicts with our MSR.
I think you'll have better results in another time slot.
Still, I guess this would show how bad someone on Liberty wants to learn the mechanics of PvP. -
I feel like leading an MSR. Bring your silliest toon or, alternatively, your silly side.
Time: Tuesday, March 29, 10:00 pm Eastern
Despite my desire to get the pylons chronologically, I'll probably follow a more standardized route.
I know some of you are still trying to get the bomb badge, so I'm hoping that we have enough folks so enough Ritki will spawn to keep us busy for more than 30 minutes.
See you then. -
I'm very upset. I go to work, and the evil woman in charge of the schedule changed the schedule! So, I'm afraid instead of setting my alarm for 3central to make this event, I'm gonna have to sleep through it.
-
For the first time in maybe ...8 months, I've gotten Sunday evening off. If I can get to sleep soon enough after work, I'll be there, as well as the hami raid at 7pm eastern.
The first should be done well before then, I presume? -
Well, that explains why the PvP zones are mostly empty.
Thanks for taking the time to give an answer. -
Well, I got clobbered good and proper by a couple of toons, working together.
They have a sneaky tactic - they engage you in conversation, and while you type a response, they sneak up on you.
They clobbered my ill/rad pretty easily. My ice blaster fared slightly better, except I forgot I was invisible. It took me a few seconds to figure out why I couldn't target them when I finally saw them.
I can tell I'm rusty, (wasn't that great at it to begin with, unless I had a double dose of clear mind.) but, practice will lead closer to perfection. -
Are recharge times suppressed in PvP zones? My level 50 ill/rad has perma PA in PvE, but in Recluse's Victory, my PA recharge times were way out of whack, as was my AM.
Why in the world did they implement this if it's working as intended? -
I'd like to do this, but the churches of the Gulf Coast must have their donuts. Still, if I can sneak a nap in prior to the "kick-off" time of this game of kickball, I'll be there.
-
The wee hours of the night is the best time for me - on the two nights per week that I'm off. This Thursday night, for example, I expect to pass through RV and Warburg on at least one toon, sometime between 1 am and 4 am.(central)
-
I'm sorry I missed the fun! I think I'll start a patrol through RV and Warburg and announce it on the global channels while I'm passing through, maybe some of you will be on and try to harass me.
-
I think the reason this happens with the ITF more than others is because if you don't "speed" through - simply killing what's in the way can last quite a long time, particularly with the plentiful ambushes. The last two missions have a vast number of bad guys.
See, I had the star, but I wasn't the real leader of the team. I was just appointed the star because I was level 50. I didn't want to offend my global friend by simply changing objectives mid-course, not when it was emphatically stated before we started it was a kill-all.
With some toons, I prefer a "speed-ish" - but I'm sorry - only needing 20 minutes to finish a tf is ridiculous. It concerns me that in the future, data mining may result in this tf giving only 9 merits instead of 26. (Honestly, I don't even know for sure if they data mine such things but I'm thinking they must.)
I think a team leader should be flexible - to a point. Real life issues do occur! A sick kid is all the reason I need to change from kill most to speed run. When I recruit and lead, I like to speed through the first 3 maps, then kill all on the last one - AFTER the mission objectives are met, so those that want to leave can do so. It also makes sense to ensure you can actually deal with Romi successfully before you waste your time dealing with the rest of the traitors. I've been on a couple of teams that simply didn't have the stuff to deal with Romi.
But, please rest assured, if I recruit, I am not stubborn - I am flexible and if circumstances change, I'll let the team express their preference and then do what I think is right for the team as a whole. But in this case, I didn't think I was in a position to do the right thing without offending a friend. -
Fitz, I actually agree with you, hence the reason for my post. I think there should have been compromise as well - but, I felt that the terms were laid out, so if choice A - I offend a stubborn friend, if choice B, I offend the rest.
Heh, what I should have done was just log and claim d/c so that I no longer had the star.
Please make note that I'm not apologizing for anything I did or didn't do. I just regret how things panned out. Some folks have a block of time to play, and once a fraction of it is gone, they can't accomplish that one objective they set out to do. I feel badly for those folks. -
I just wanted to tell some folks that I'm sorry for the way an ITF turned out last night.
I joined a team for a kill-all ITF. Because the team recruiter wasn't level 50, I was asked to be the leader.
People are people. At the end of one mission, someone exited instead of remaining to "kill all". Others soon followed suit, leaving me and the recruiting toon with 25% more of the map to go.
If I had been the initial recruiter and team leader, I'd have just exited. But, the recruiter was and is a global friend and was very clear before we started - a kill - all, which is not easily confused with kill-most or kill some or speed.
So, I stayed to help clear.
To be brief, another player whom I have a great amount of respect for asked if it was possible to turn it into a kill most, rather than all.
I said it was okay with me - but it wasn't my call.
To make a long story short - the whole thing was a waste of time for me. No notice of the well, no completion. After two members quit, the others soon followed. I can't really blame them, even though they knew going in it was a
kill all.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm sorry things turned out so lousy. -
Thanks to Rianeva for leading a successful raid!
Oh, and, as a courtesy to the server, I figured I would let you good people know...
HMO Medic makes silly comments while raiding. -
I think, in an effort to encourage different leaders, I will sacrifice some sleep and plan to attend.
I've already got my EoEs. -
I don't "like" it, but I only have to deal with it twice. Once I load CoH, I keep it loaded until the Weekly TF maintenance and the Scheduled Thursday maintenance. It's not that big of a deal.
-
Trying to work around my schedule would only result in even fewer folks attending, lol. I'm used to only having the same 20 folks to team with on tfs in the wee hours of the mornings when I'm off work.
-
To be fair to everyone, I wanted to bow out as gracefully and non-cowardly as I can. I put in a lengthy day, and the lovely Mardi-Gras season somehow found the sprinkles on my donuts and the masses decided to buy them all, so I had to make many, many more.
In short, if I have a bout of insomnia, I still will sit this event out.
A shame, too, because I actually enjoy PvP, and there was a time when I thought myself halfway decent at it.
So, thanks, Robo and the lounge gang for having the event, and sorry, I'm not gonna be able to make it.
