Excellent! Now all that's left is to shakedown the toons (yes, plural) I can bring, and find a couple of willing (read: willing, or taken hostage and made so) souls to fight beside. I'll sign as an individual if I have to, but that's not the case right now.
What IS the case, is that, right now, I'm really excited for the fifth of March!

of those, the most traditionally optimal is the spines/regen at this point but I could see a use in a 3v3 for the ill/rad or the grav/kin as well!
Noticed my pvp toons've collected enough dust they'd probably not be much use. My Dark / Cold Dom Corr's still at 30, and I can honestly say she'd probably not be much help, considering that +def seems less than second-rate.
Might have to look at whipping some of my pve toons into pvp shape. Just so I have a cutoff, what level shoud I not bring anything lower than?
I only have 3 50's - an AR / Dev, a DP / Rad Defender, and a BS / Shield Scrap. So more than likely my 50's won't be much use, unless I pull the AR out of mothball-retirement-land in short order.

in a small event like this, anything can be made to work if you know what you are trying to do. Broadsword does a ton of damage and confront is an effective -range tool as well.
I'll be signing up, but I don't know what I'll be bringing yet.
I would definitely be in on this. Just have to check with the boys to see who's coming with me.

Also, does anyone have any concerns that the team limitations i've placed are too restrictive? is anyone even reading this thread?
Perhaps next time around, you should relax your rules on duplicates some. It's kind of annoying to go through all my 50s and realize that out of the four who aren't completely useless in PvP, I can't use three of them because they're the wrong AT or have the wrong blast set. (This may be hyperbole.)

Yes, I'm reading the thread. But, these retrictions, I'm not really paying any attention to them, as I figure the arena will just restrict what needs to be restricted.

To my thinking, an all-stalker team vs an all visible team would end up with a score like a World Cup game between England and Jamaica, roughly one-zero. If that.
I could very well be wrong, though. All the stalkers I've run into have been in RV, so Arena could be more or less forgiving to them. <shrugs>

But, iirc, +perception has always been kind of a given? That, and AS has soooo many countermeasures to it, too.

I'm not gonna do anything special, just gonna have my scrapper or my ice blaster, or one of my controllers available for this. A regular ol' run of the mill PvE build. If I have fun and win a few, great. If I have fun and lose a few, even better.
If I get smacked and don't have any fun, well, I gave it a shot, and then I'll save up for PvP build stuff.
And if I still get smacked around, I'll respec the PvP stuff and get rich again!

That said, everyone should have something they can do well, and defeat teaches us more than victory. Long story short, I absolutely agree with you Rex, and I can't wait for the fifth, either.

When: 03/05/2011 7:00PM EST
What 3v3 pvp tournament
Why: Funsies
Format: Bracket with original positions assigned by a random number and size determined by entries.
Rules: Ok, so I wanted to keep this from being too serious so I am going to impose a few restrictions to keep teams from being overly stacked.
No Heal Decay (now you don't have to time any heals or inspirations you use)
No Travel Suppression (suppression sucks)
You WILL have Diminishing returns (necessary evil to avoid the horror of capped resists)
Small inspirations only
Arena temps only (if you can buy it from the arena, you can use it here)
Lvl 50
replay a tie
random maps
don't be a jerk
There you have it folks. Please sign up as either a team (full or partial) or individual* You can sign up until 03/04/2011 (i'll only make exception if we are short even numbers of teams and need one more)
