How did you do it?
I followed the guides.
step 1) Clear the road around Lambda until you get to the gate. then clear the courtyard, then clear the turrets up top.
step 2) Kill the security team, Inform everyone to NOT CLICK ON ANY DOORS. Then i explain what we need to do, usually spliting the team evenly (or giving the weapon cache side 1 extra person, as that map sucks) and grabbing all the temps.
step 3) I ask who has the acids, and who has the pacifications. I inform the people who have acids that they need to blow up portals ASAP but to not waste acids on a portal someone else is already at. once we're down to 2 - 4 portals, i engage marauder, having someone pacifiy him right away. Usually you want to pop judgement and destiny powers to clear and survive his herd of reinforcements.
Step 4) Keep debuffs on Marauder as much as possible, pacifiying him when he enrages, and closing the remaining portals as Marauder jumps around. Keep hitting destiny and judgement powers to clear the ambushes and keep us alive. Keep up step 4 until Marauder dies, then repeat 1 - 4 for the next lambda run.
I have about a 80% success rate, with both Pugs, and premades.
Did one of each, failed both but then I'm not on as much any more so I don't have the super uber powers yet.
With the BAF the ambushes got us...
With Lambda we didn't have enough join & the group around Marauder would of easily given me all the debt badges several times over if I still needed them x_x

So to remedy this, let's hear how you beat the trials and still had fun doing it. I think if we are more informed on the how that this mentality that has been lurking around will cease to exist.
|
1. I made sure to join a trial that was led by someone I had at least some level of confidence in. (Usually this is due to having teamed with them before on TFs and noticed they knew what they were doing.)
2. I tried to bring a toon that would help the league. If the league needed support, I switched to that. If they needed damage, I switched to that. Right now the trials are brand-new and pretty hard to do, so having a strong team is important. I figure there'll be plenty of time for my less desired toons (and I have my share of those) to catch up on the trials later on, when people are skillful and well-equipped enough to beat the trials routinely.
3. During the trial I tried to stay with the group and tried to be a good teammate (casting buffs/debuffs/heals if I was playing support, or dealing damage while avoiding aggro if I'm damage).
4. I added League chat to a chat tab and made sure to read the leader's instructions and follow them.
If you can do the above things, IMHO that is enough to be successful more often than not. It certainly helps to read the trial guides but I think that is less of a factor than simply (a) making sure you are on a good team and (b) being a good teammate.
I know these suggestions are rather generic, though, so if there is a specific issue you've been running into, I'd be glad to offer what help I can.

I think it's a few things like what PW and Arbegla said:
from PW: 4. I added League chat to a chat tab and made sure to read the leader's instructions and follow them. |
I also might suggest (at least for Lambda runs) that the league leader mentions the steps before the trial is started (either when everyone zones into the Lambda or before so).
One of the key things is the acid powers (and pac. grenades). Make sure you have room in your power trays for temp powers...and more than 1 open slot...when a glowie blows up you may get a 2nd temp power; technically you have a chance to get all 10 I think.
This should be mentioned, again, before it all starts I think...it's hard to look through 50 temp powers when you're racing against the clock. Sometimes it may be better for anyone that has a temp power give it to a certain person on that team. These temps can be passed onto a person by just right-clicking on the power in the tray and "Give To x".
I think BAF (from what I remember in beta) was hard when fighting Siege/Nightstar with their endless reinforcements. I'd suggest having 1 team fighting the AV while the other team fight off the reinforcements (especially those darn ACUs).

Steps to a successful Lambda Run:
1. Experienced leaders: You need to have folks leading the teams that know what to do and know how to communicate with their team and the other team.
2. Players willing to listen and follow instructions: This includes having the right chat channels open. If you don't like the way the leaders have set it up or you think you have a better strategy, you should have a discussion about it afterwards or start your own and run it your way. There are a couple of timed objectives in this trial that will cause a failure if you wasted time arguing.
3. A balanced team: I'm sure that once everyone gets the hang of it and we have some more Incarnate abilities under our belts that we will have all [insert AT] teams successfully complete it. For now, unless you are an elite, well-oiled super-team, you are better off with a nice mix of aggro control, buff, debuff, and damage.
As far as my particular strategy: We clear the road of mobs until we get to the door then rebuff and clear the courtyard of mobs, then jump up and clear the turrets. It's not required to kill all of them but it makes it safer and this part is not timed.
After clearing we enter the central building, take down the giant robot and rebuff. The leader should make it clear for everyone to WAIT before entering the elevators to get buffs and to make sure everyone is ready because once the first person enters you are on a 5 minute timer.
The two teams should each follow their leader into the appropriate elevator after the "GO" is given. Since this is a timed objective, I recommend that people just destroy the blinkies and ignore the mobs. I know that this is easier said than done for some ATs and players. But if you don't already have super speed and some kind of stealth power, you may want to consider at least investing in a +stealth IO (jump or run) and stick it in sprint (or your favorite sprint substitute). It helps if the tank and/or leader has a targeting macro to quickly find the containers and caches. Well, it helps for any and all players to have one, really. If one team gets all ten, they should immediately go help the other team. Every matching pair buys you more time so you should have at least a little bit of time for the second team to make a difference.
Once all temp powers have been acquired or time runs out, we give all the temp powers to people who know what to do with them. Make sure that everyone checks their temp powers and hands them off to the designated players. While the temp power swaps are going on, people should be rebuffing.
So usually the lead tank gets all the grenades and one or two people get all the acids to get the doors. Again, this isn't necessary, but having one or two people fail to use the temp powers properly can lead to a trial failure. Once the doors start coming down, we try pulling some of Marauder's friends to thin the herd a bit, especially the psi-wielding seers that can destroy many tanks.
Once thinned, the lead tank announces that Marauder is the target so that everyone knows to switch to that target and the lead tank is charged with keeping Anti-BaBs pacified.
This strategy has worked for me every time, except for one time because the lead tank had not run the trial before.
Good luck!

I am SOOOOOOOOO jealous of you all... I have been out of town all week and have not had the chance to get logged in or logged on... But I am back now and hope to learn from the skilled player base here on Liberty as to how to be part of a successful run at these...
Kudos all and see you in-game over the weekend!
With regards to the advice given by Hazy, Horus and Arbegla, not necessarily in any order:
My best advice is to heed their advice.
Also realize that the only failure is in not trying, despite what the words on the screen tell you when too many mind-washed prisoners escape.

And if you do fail, take it as a learning experience for the next time. You are still earning ixp (possibly astral merits and components if you get some of the badges). I probably failed half a dozen of each before we succeeded.

@Tax E - RIP CoH 2012
Well we finally did it! MoLambda today.
I took a picture of who was on team but my UI boxes didnt show up.. soooo I can't remember the names of everyone. But regardless they did an excellent job and some grreat team work. We had 45s - 1m to spare. It took several tries.
This is how I did it (memory fuzzy so don't flame me if I missed something):
1) No more then 4 - 5 Melee (tanks, scrappers, stalkers, brutes) toons on team. (I tried hard to keep it at 4).
2) Defenders, Corruptors, Controllers, Masterminds with DoT about 6 - 7 of them. So far we have found that Cold, Kin, Psi, Sonic to be the best. But I beleive it can be done with any others as well.
3) The rest were blasters or Veats with High DPS so about 5 - 6 of them.
4) Lastly 80% of the team had to be +3 lvl boosted or +1 with T2 boosts in all there slots.
The Maurader fight was basically this:
1) Spam Judgement at minions to keep them down. I felt no need to tightly control this. If the power was up we blasted them. When the spawns would get to be too many I would Yell out for Judgement and usually someone or someones would let it loose.
2) Spawn Non Seer Lore pets at first attack on Maurader (100% Health Points). The Seer Lore pets I saved for when Maurader was down to 25% or timer at 5 minutes which ever came first. Usually by the end of the fight (around 10 - 15 health points) the Non-Seer lore pets were recharged and I called for them to be summoned again.
3) Activate Barriers when the warning flashed on screen for Nova Fist and Activate Rebirths after Nova Fist.
4) BE VERY CAREFUL around Containment Chamber in NW corner of courtyard. Fire Judgements on mobs that are AWAY from it and make sure to have pets on {Attack my Target} toggle. If you destroy it you DO NOT get badges. (we did that once and we killed him 2mins on the clock and no badges).
5) When his Health reaches 22 - 24 Health points he goes into "Unstoppable" for about 3 mins.... If you dont have at least 4mins on the clock it gonna be a close fail. I have noticed that if you have in at 50% health at the 10 - 15 minute mark your team is gonna succeed. But the closer to the 10 minute mark you are the higher chance for a split second failure.. one good DC of a DoTs or DPS provider or 1/2 team killed during a Nova fist is gonna make the difference.
6) Lastly I had my time to give it up.... If he is not below 10% with 30s - 1 min on the clock I called for Grenades and we took him down. This way we at least got our drop menu.
I hope this helps other plan there MoLambda better. I will be glad to help out and help others get their badges whenever I am logged on. BUT we have to be very picky on how we organize to team, so I apolgize in advance if I have to skip over someone the first time.
The league did great today.. and thankyou for all those who hung in there for the 4 tries it took to get it done.

I didn't even think about calling out for the non-lore pets when I did my trial. Good thought.
Another point to add; I also have team 1 use lore pets now (at 100% health) and have team 2 use their lore pets at 20%/25% When I did my trial, I wasn't sure when he used Unstoppable and then noticed...he was 'stuck' on 23/100 for a good minute....lore pets now team 2! heheh

I will say that point 4 is a very good one. This was the only time where the adds were somewhat problematic for the league I was leading. Not in the sense that the adds were killing teammates but just causing more and more lag. I cautioned people not to use Judgement powers (especially Ion as that can obviously chain and hit the chamber)....so that is one area where caution is needed for sure.

By now I am sure that everyone has ran a successful lambda or baf if not both. I know that there are some that have lambda down to a science. But there is another side to this. A very angry, mouth foaming, gotta get them fat lootz side.
I think that I have seen more frustration and aggregation from our community in the past few days than evert. It reminds me of a different game that I don't play for that reason. It isn't anyone's fault at all. I think that the level of rewards mixed with a very high chance of a screw up/grief possible, puts many on edge, myself included.
So to remedy this, let's hear how you beat the trials and still had fun doing it. I think if we are more informed on the how that this mentality that has been lurking around will cease to exist.
