Actually, Bill, it sounds more like something to get in a Radio/Paper mission than a character name. But then again, I happened to catch a airing of Buckaroo Banzai yesterday. So that might have something to do with it...

Oh Myskatz knows of the biopic, Def. It's a film we both have enjoyed.
It was her wanting to see this attempt at a film more in the spirit of that film than trying to bring the Stooge concept forward like this film intends to be.

Figured since this thread isn't too old, I'd rather post this here than in a new thread.
Anime News Network has a rather positive review of the Live Action Yamato Film.
Honestly, I've seen several of the trailers. I think, even subtitled, I would pay full price to see this on the big-screen here. Even my GF, who isn't that familiar with Yamato/Star Blazers, was interested in seeing this.
Let's just hope it is brought over in a reasonable amount of time.

I have a 9500 GT and the 257 is about the only thing I can run without having to fight my way through new settings and the like.
Believe me, I would love to run the 260 or better. I like the install utility.
But then again, I'm hoping to get a new Vid card after the holidays. I like what I have, but I want to play CoX with nearly all the graphical bells and whistles on.

Update:
Having gone back through the Character in question again to get screenies for Support, I have now discovered where I was going wrong.
It seems that in the levels where there is multiple Slot selections occurring (such as 33-34 & 36-37), the Respec system doesn't do just the three per level, but all 6 in one shot.
Now I don't have that many 32+ characters, but I don't recall that happening in the past. Is this WAI?

I am posting this in General Discussions mainly for discussion value only. I am in the process of working through NCSoft support in hopes of a solution.
Things of note:
I have filed a Support petition and communicating with Support about this
I have respected a number of lower level Characters, post I19 launch, before doing this particular Respec
I have a Level 37 Scrapper (Katana/Regen) that seems stuck during the Enhancement slot Process of the Respec.
After choosing the Slots for what would be Level 31, the system seems to jump to Level 34, instead of 33. I can slot to powers, but can not continue because the system seems to have gotten out of Sync.
Anyone else happen to come across this?
(And all of this just to respec out Swift for Build Up and Inherent Fitness. Ain't that a kick...)

As mentioned, you'd get better responses in the Tech area, but...
Off hand:
Celerons aren't the best for taxing gaming apps
Integrated Intel Graphics drivers don't always like CoX even before UM was done.
As Smersh mentioned, the low base memory for the graphics isn't a help either.
Personally, even for a laptop, you're going to want to do a fair investment for playing CoX.

Interesting...
Thankfully it looks like traditional animation, not Full CG. Now let's hope the Great Mouse God doesn't force the Glasses on everyone to see it.
It might be worth seeing.

Oh dear gawd...
What is going through marketing's mind to come up with this load a BS.
I mean seriously? This... This...
I can't even begin to type what I think of this 'cause I'd get mod-smacked into next week.
sheesh...

It's a decent show.
Not Justice League/JLU caliber, but close. The show's pacing is a little too quick at times. It's nice to see several plot threads being developed, but I'm afraid of not seeing several of those being fulfilled right away (or even in this first, of hopefully several, season).
As to the show's OP...
It's not bad, per say. Would I want to hear a full length version? No, not really. What I do like is the evolving Group shot right before the show title at the end of the OP. Hulk wasn't shown in the ep#4 shot. So I imagine Cap will be in the ep#5 shot.

I just hit the 51 Month badge myself.
I have a serious Altitius case with no natural 50s (I have a couple of bumped ones on test).
I have most of the Booster/Packs and wrangled my GF in a couple of months after I started. For what limited income I have, CoX is my entertainment budget for now.
Why do I stay?
Let's see...
- Decent and fun gameplay. To me, Cox feels like a expanded arcade shooter/platformer. I can basically just run on instinct and button mash. which allows me to relax.
- I have always enjoyed Supers and CoX allows me to indulge in that.
- I solo/duo most times. I can do that or, if the mood hits me, PuG just as easily.
- The Community. 'nuff said.
- While not mind-blowing, the graphics are immersive and realistic enough, even before Ultra Mode.
- The depth and variety of the ATs and Powersets. While I can't roll a true War Machine-type Character (while the other Super MMO could), I can do almost anything else reasonably well now. That is a good thing.
Can't really think of much else right now, but I think that is a lot right there.

Been meaning to mention this for a bit, but:
High School of the Dead +1
I mean let's be honest, this is a fan service title above anything else. The fact it's a fan service title set in a Zombie Apocalypse just adds to the fun. It also has a solid story and some fun action. Save for a story swap and some minor pacing alterations, it's a solid adaption of the Manga.

Quote:This I can agree with.Another problem is that, for some reason, companies think they can get away with being not merely content-light but system-light, only including the bare skeletons of promised features, while hyping them up as if they're in and completed, and then basically abandoning further work on them.
I first experienced City atfer the launch of CoV (just before I7, IIRC). So by that point the most basic gameplay and functionality was in place. I can't say the same for the Space IP game being mentioned.
I will agree that the expectations for a MMO now are a lot higher than 6 years ago. Certain systems and content need to be in place at launch:
- Reasonably deep Avatar Creation
- Solid and Fun Gameplay
- Some kind of "End game" system (yes, system, not content. Got to love the constantly moving max level cap...)
- Enough progressive Content for all Factions at game launch to get to the initial max level (regardless if can be played through in a weeks time by more hardcore players...)
- Functional PvP (if the game plans on it in some way. Doesn't mean it has to be the game's focus)
- A functioning market system
- A functional and worth-while Crafting system
- The ability to PuG with any Level Character and not feel useless
This, in full respect, may not seem like a lot, but I think what I mention above is the bare minimum to be expected out of any MMORPG to be released nowadays. If these things can't be achieved, then why play?

Thankfully (if can call it that), DISH Network still carries G4.
Though I'll agree, outside of the occasional X-Play or the E3 or Comic-con coverage, there's really not much there. AotS is a geeks 'Man Show'. Never really cared for Web Soup either. Ninja Warrior and the other Japanese brought over show are entertaining now and then. And the rest of the stuff... There's like no focus for G4 anymore.
And the Tech TV merger... still makes my blood boil now and then.

Now I'm not a big fan of Zombie Horror stuff myself. I've also not read the original comics either.
I found last night's premiere enjoyable. Well paced and the gore and graphic stuff handled well. Liked the use of Wang Chung's "Space Stuff" for the pull out shot from the tank at the end.
I think this will be worth watching.

I knew this series was gonna use Bayformer designs. But using simplified versions of the Bayformers? Yesh! That makes what are already ugly designs (IMHO) even worse.
Hopefully there's an actual story or I think I'll skip this one as well.

Watched tonight's (10/27) ep.
Not bad. Wished Hulk would of stayed on for another ep, but his leaving fits in the tone of how long he stayed on in the beginning so...
Look's like Haz is close to the mark on when Cap will appear. I'd say ep 5 or 6 at this point.
And for someone who's a little more familiar with Civil War-era Marvel. Wasn't there a Negative Zone Prison created during that time frame? I thought something was mentioned, but I'm not that up on Marvel stuff of that point.

Quote:Before thing get too out of hand, let's get one thing here clear:
If CoX went F2P, there would still be a subscription option available for those who want it just like the game alluded to in the OP. For those who subscribe, there would be no Content or access changes and CoX would play, for the most part, just like normal.
Now then, one last thing to include to my earlier post...
Let's just say some content that is currently in the game gets put into a side-quest category. This would be content that doesn't have a direct baring on a zone's story or pertain to the Character's origin.
So let's say that a F2P player would have to pay (per character, of course) to run the Doppleganger Contacts in Talos or Sharkshead or the Arcs in the Midnighters Club. Same could be said for the normal contacts you might come across. If you only get contacts associated with your Character's Origin, you run the risk of not going through some interesting content. If you pay a fee, per character, then you'd open up the contacts for a different origin path.
Now as too what was quoted above...
What would define a Issue? Issue releases are more than just mission content. They are Systems and costumes as well. I could not see being able to pay Issue content on top of paying a subscription fee. If there was new mission contacts and the like, those might have to be bundled as Micro-Transaction stuff.

Quote:I think Free-to-Play would work well with CoH - there's so much content here that's built over the past 6 years, plus there's a whole new endgame system about to be added.
But for a game that's, say, just only one year old with limited content and only one leveling path, I'm not sure how that'd work.
Let's see here...
Outside of buying GR to Fully access the end-game content, let's just say for argument's sake if City went F2P here's what a F2P player might get:
- Access to all Zones as regular subscribed players (Content is another thing entirely)
- 4-6 Character slots, with an option to purchase to a max of 12-18 per server
- 2-3 Costume slots per Character, with the option to purchase to the max limit of 5 per Character (got to give the Costume Salvage one for free...)
- a maximum of 8-10 Market slots, with the option to increase to the per Character max
- No direct access to AE system (Just like Trial accounts), but access can be purchased and then treated normally
- A INF cap limit of, being generous, 250 Million, with multiple purchasing options to increase the cap to the 2 Billion max
As I mentioned upthread, I think the development effort to even think of going to a F2P system is not worth the hassle to sort out all of above and more. It's just not worth it, IMHO.
If you think that F2P City players could enjoy something along like what I mentioned, then ok, we'll see. I just don't believe it would be a good thing.

Quote:Not sure about Killer Croc either. He was also featured in one of the Gotham Knight segments. Don't recall exactly the details, but the rational behind the GK version isn't far from your thoughts, M_L. I'll have to look back at it now (That segment wasn't one of my Favs in B:GK...)...Key to guesstimating who Nolan's choice of villain will be, is to understand his 'real-world grounding' and reality of characters in his Batman trilogy.
Hence killer croc is not going to be a 9ft mutant croc man, .... but he could be a very tall (and built like a brick out-house) psychopath with a genetic mutation of scaley skin and who files his teeth to points. There are also moving some production to New Orleans which has prompted some to indicate Killer Croc.
Wouldn't mind a Catwoman reboot if she is sufficiently S&M and vicious.
I honestly don't know this time around. I guessed right with The Lizard for the Spidey reboot, but Nolan never fails to surprise me with choices i never see coming or ones that i wouldn't of thought would work - but then turn out to be inspired choices & castings.
Thank you for the time... -
Slight problem with Deadshot though...
He was featured in one of the "Batman: Gotham Knight" OVA segments. Gotham Knight is supposed to be set between Nolan's 1 & 2. It was a solid tale though. Maybe follow a revenge angle, if possible. Not to say using Deadshot was a bad idea...

I know I'm treading real thin ground w/this reply, but here goes...
As to seeing CoX go the F2P model? I personally don't feel the development time to implement system changes to mirror the F2P changes over there would be worth while. While a F2P player would be a glorified trial player, the additional burden on the Market, E-mail, and other background systems might make more problems than anything else. I can't see that as a good thing. It might also open up a new wave of RMT issues on Freedom and Virtue, more than anything else.
I just hope the higher ups at NCSoft look at what they have and know it's a good thing.
