Possible COH Laptop?
While I'm sure there are plenty of people around here to help, you may get better help in the tech forums.

Integrated video with only 64MB of dedicated memory?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say... no Ultra Mode for you.

As mentioned, you'd get better responses in the Tech area, but...
Off hand:
Celerons aren't the best for taxing gaming apps
Integrated Intel Graphics drivers don't always like CoX even before UM was done.
As Smersh mentioned, the low base memory for the graphics isn't a help either.
Personally, even for a laptop, you're going to want to do a fair investment for playing CoX.
Thank you for the time...
From personal experience, Intel integrated media accelerator is not ideal for CoH. I had a laptop with that as its graphic processor and it barely handled the game at the lowest settings, forget Ultra mode. And the 2 GB of ram, really should have 3 or ideally 4.
Ultra Mode? Not a chance. Heck this would be hard pressed to get better than 15fps at it's native resolution with all the settings at their lowest.
It doesn't even make a good browser since the small 28 watt battery coupled with a 35 watt CPU means it's battery life is would be shorter than your average movie.
Also to upgrade to 4GB you will have to chuck the existing memory in the system since their isn't any free slots.
It would make a good PC for an 8 year old so they aren't on Mommy's or Daddy's PC but for anything beyond "Backyard Baseball" or "Zombies Vs Plants", I'm thinking you are looking at $200 of disappointment.

I guess I was just hoping there was the slightest of chances. I really just need to buy a new pc and use my current one as a secondary for family that might play the game. I just don't have the dollars atm. Though I guess I've gotten good mileage out of my six year old dell pc with barely two gigs of ram.

if you need anew box, laptop or PC, i would recommend hitting the Microcenter or Tigerdirect websites right after Christmas, you'll get good deals, especially this year. got a friend who works at Microcenter, looks like sales are well down for this time of year and they have to slash prices to move overstock come the 26th. but look for dedicated video cards, even a 512mb dedicated, with enough system ram will perform admirably.
Oh yeah, that was the time that girl got her whatchamacallit stuck in that guys dooblickitz and then what his name did that thing with the lizards and it cleared right up.
screw your joke, i want "FREEM"
i have an HP 17.5 laptop, 8gb RAM with a Geforce GT 230M with a dedicated gb of ram itself.
500gb solid state drive, and an I7 processor. the thing screams, CoH's ultra mode is a cake walk for this box, and it only cost me 1100, gotta love microcenter!

It's not likely but I thought I'd ask anyway. Do you think this cheapy laptop can handle COH and more importantly Ultra Mode? Just looking for something to get the family involved in the game.
