  1. Take that, person trying to use my welcoming committee to gather prestige mules!
  2. Can free players join Super Groups? I didn't think they could.

Now to find 8 or more (preferably more) Incarnate Kheldians. I'm sure we'll have you, myself, AIB, and Pete for sure. Getting Zaloopa to bring his Warshade would be a step in the right direction too.

My birthday is Thursday! The Dev's arranged it so that the Praetorians will be invading Protector on my birthday too.

I'll be on my Claws/Dark Brute.

Can we defeat +20s and a +15? I don't know, but I intend to find out.

Can I bring my MFING HUMAN FORM WARSHADE? He has maneuvers, and a Fury of the Gladiator res debuff proc in Orbiting Death! And fancy purple procs everywhere. Let's drop em in the lavas.

edit: Boo, I just read your 'it's impossible' post. But if everyone has a jetpack or fly, could we pull them into lava and out-range them while the lava melts them to their heroic death? Or will they just fly out?

    Human-Only WS?

You are correct that on your budget, you'd probably get more out of Tri Form but if you ever decide to invest more into your Warshade, Human Form Only is the way to go. Your build doesn't look bad but there are some things that could be changed for better performance...

You don't need 4 slots in Stygian Circle, at most I would go with two Efficacy Adaptors for the HP bonus. Same thing with Stamina- Either 2 slot with Efficacy Adaptors or one slot with a performance Shifter proc.

The best 4 slotting for Eclipse is two Nucleolus Exposure and 2 Recharge IO's, it lets you cap your resists to all damage with just 5 targets.

Shadow Blast is a big part of your attack chain, if you're not going to put Apocalypse in it I would at least go with Decimation.

If you're going to 2 slot tactics, use rectified recticles for the s/l defense bonus.

I wouldn't three slot Shadow Step for that tiny ranged defense bonus. If you want to pick up more positional defense, drop Grant Invisibility for Combat Jumping.

I would lose the Aegis resistance IO in Absorption and put the whole Steadfast set in there- It's not going to do you much good.

Also for your attack chain- I think you're going to have trouble without E-Drain in tough fights. My Human Form chain is S Blast>E Drain>S Blast>G Well. If I were you I would drop Nebulous Form, pick up E Drain and get slots for it by taking them out of Ebon Eye.

Well, if you spend some of your time hanging out in Atlas Park with me, maybe we can corrupt a few would be do-gooders early.

  10. Heh, I didn't know the fly speed power put you in only affecting self mode. I guess that means the Dev's shortchanged Peacebringers (there's a first time for everything )- It sounds like Quantum Flight should've just had +speed added to it.
  11. Don't mind me guys, I'm just gonna go mope over there in the corner for a little bit.

  13. Just trying to make a simple combat video, it was going pretty well until I played the video back and noticed my UI was gone. No power trays, health bar, chat window, target window, nav, combat attributes or anything. Also, my damage aura wasn't being shown and neither was my stealth power.

I read on P-Wiki that stealth powers tend not to show up, and that's ok (though not ideal) but I would like to see my UI and damage aura. I saw the list of commands to stop displaying certain things on the Wiki page, but as I have never used any of those I don't see why they aren't displaying now.

So here's my question: Is it just not possible to show the UI, and if it is will I have to record the video again or can I do some magic tricks on the one I have already to get things to show up as they should?

The reason I'm using demorecord instead of a video recording program like X-Fire is that whenever I try to run those with COH it turns into a lag fest. I was hoping to be able to /demorecord, and then fire up x-fire from there for uploading purposes.

The point is that luck really doesn't matter... I look at rare/VR tables as a bonus, when it happens it's nice but it's not a big deal. I can still make my very rares by converting the ever abundant uncommons into rares, and the even more abundant threads/astrals/emps into uncommons to buy even more rares. I can then top it all off by turning those rares into VR's with a pretty minimal amount of effort and no luck required.

I got zero rares, zero very rares, a handful of uncommons, and a pile commons. That's more than enough to tell me that unless you're lucky with the RNG, you need to grinds your balls off to get the goods.

How often do you get the uncommon reward table? I know I get it quite a lot, but with one of each of those crappy uncommons, and even converting over astrals and emp's to threads to buy uncommons, you can make a rare. Running three successful trials should give you enough to make one rare component, lucky or not. Once you have one of each rare you can make a very rare... What are there, 5 of them? I really don't remember. The point is that in about a week assuming you get nothing but common and uncommon reward tables you can craft a tier 4 doing three trials a day.

Plus, it makes a mockery of the storyline.

Well, I don't think the Dev's have any plans to change how the system works (and believe me I have a few complaints too) so I've been speaking from a position of accepting things as they are and dealing with future additions in a way that I think would be reasonable.

Yeah, there's an option to keep your pet window up... I think it's under "window," but I honestly don't remember precisely.
  18. With the game opening up to free players next week, I'm wondering if we shouldn't plant ourselves in Atlas Park to pass out inf for enhancements, field questions, and just say "Heya, welcome to Protector!" to our new friends.

I made my first character on Protector, and it's been my main server ever since. We have a lot of really helpful/friendly people and I think it would be nice to take that "extra step" to welcome more people into our community.

So anywho, I will be in Atlas/Mercy on September 27th and subsequent days doing some of the things I mentioned up there, and I hope some of you (all of you ) will join me.

Well, I'll disagree with you there. It seems the direction they're going in is untyped/unresistable damage (I already complained about that, though) that turns the entire concept of survivability on its' head anyways. The tough fights would be just as tough.

Destiny is frontloaded to keep it balanced in Incarnate Content - where other people have it as well.

Meh, the overpowered argument is sort of a moot point for me when it comes to Incarnate powers. The whole point of having them is to be overpowered in the first place. "We're gods," remember?

Right, well that's a complaint that people have already and I think it's been addressed pretty clearly: You'll have more trials as fast as the Dev's can make them. I should have been more clear in my first post, any trials that came out with the new slots in addition to any that followed should award the xp for the new slots.

So farming the BAF wouldn't achieve anything in terms of progressing towards new goodies (aside from collecting components, which I think is fine.)
  22. I should have mentioned earlier that barrier also bugs me. I would rather have it apply a steady defense buff for its' entire duration than the ridiculous, unnecessary buff that declines to next-to-nothing rapidly.

When I find myself in situations where I need extra defense, I'm usually playing pretty proactively and it's difficult to stare at my frickin' combat attributes, trying to time when I have to click a couple of purples just right.

It would just be more logical in my opinion for it to provide the same exact bonus the whole time the power is on... Edit: Obviously not the massive buff, but a modest and practical one. Anyways, that's my tangent.
  23. I personally think the Dev's would be fine if they kept the current currencies () for the new slots, but made the XP for unlocking those slots only available for whatever trial(s) they are released with, and removing the option to buy XP for said slots. This way, they can ensure that the new content would be run while dictating how often it would be run by adjusting the progression rate of iXP.
