  1. I've been playing CO more and liking it more. They have an underwater zone! I picture Aqua Man getting in Batman and Superman's face and going, "See guys. I told you it wasn't stupid."

Also, their comic and adventure packs are ridiculously fun and engaging. The fact that CO is a much more modern game really shines through.
  2. Honestly? I wouldn't go near an emulator. I want to let COH rest in peace rather than be party to copyright infringing necromancy. It would be more depressing than the live servers currently are to me.

So those two games are off the table because they are done or nearly done and I imagine they would like to see revenues from both of them to offset any development costs.

WildStar is a still a few years away but is under the main offices watchful eye, there may also be politics involved depending who in the main office is backing it. That leaves Paragon Studio and CoH.
I might be missing something here, but what about Lineage II? Isn't that game just as old as COH? Also, it seems like it would have the same market as GW2 since it's essentially an older variation of the same generic formula, based on what I know.
  4. I might have just missed it, but it looks like no one has stated the obvious yet. I'll say it without shame- My favorite Brute is my SS/Fire.
  5. Yep, I got my Fire/Mental all slotted up on beta and have played around with him a bit. I was really surprised how much extra resistance I had added onto my build by accident, and the snipe/nuke changes are awesome.

Not one of us on these forums can seriously believe political arguments are good for us. If you do, you're either paid to argue or you really enjoy high blood pressure.

If you think I'm trying to be a self-made Moderator, okay. I can live with that if it somehow deters everyone from sparking up the endless, useless, fruitless, pointless political arguments.
Personally I don't think political discussions need to be anything but constructive. I have quite a few friends and relatives on the left and we have healthy discussions regularly. I did edit my post to point out that you were not the self made deputy in question but that you were piling on to that train of thought.

That ship sailed long ago. Good luck shutting down all the threads that don't follow the rules. The community decided a month ago that the rules went out the window with the game.

o.o Thanks. I'm not really sure what you're getting at here. Again, you're the one who decided to pin a star to their own chest.

Edit: No, not you personally I guess. But definitely the bandwagon you jumped on. Collective star pinning I guess.

I'm not the one trying to deputize myself here.

Point being: We either follow the rules or we don't. You don't get to pick and choose which ones we follow. Obviously we've decided not to follow them, judging by all the threads about other games.

Because discussing politics is against the rules? So is talking about other games. Go post some cakes in all those threads.

It's simple enough. Don't call someone a troll for trying to get you to stop talking about something completely pointless and totally unrelated to the thread. What bearing do your political views have on the thread topic? Why react negatively when someone tries to get you to stop going down a road you know will get moderated?

C'mon son. You're better than this, we all are.
I legitimately feel like you aren't aware how things work here. Discussions evolve past the point of OP's on a regular basis. A thread asking for an attack chain for a certain build turns into a discussion about the merits of said build on a regular basis. A discussion about new content turns into posts about bugs, suggestions for future content, speculation about future content, etc. It's just normal forum stuff and par for the course around here. A thread that was relevant to another thread being removed sparks a discussion similar to that one. Is that really surprising to you?

What bearing does Crab Spider DPS have to a Pylon thread in the Scrapper forum? What bearing does discussion about i24 have in an i23 overview thread?

Are you a mod? I don't see a star pinned to your chest. If the forum police intend to censor discussions I think that's their prerogative. But I don't remember any announcements about trolling and behaving in an intentionally disruptive fashion over and over like a nagging fly being equivalent to respecting the decisions of moderators.

It wasn't even a debate? I obviously misunderstood Bill's views and asked him to clarify. And how long have you been on these forums...? Do you really think that even before the announcement, all conversations remained relevant to the OP? Because to me it sounds like you're new here.

If your answer to any of the above questions is "No", please stop talking about politics.

If your answer to any of the above questions is "Yes", quit being a wiseass.
This isn't a Champions Online forum, a video game character fetish forum, or an intellectual property theft forum either.
  13. You know cake person, it is possible to have adult conversations about things you disagree with people about. You are the troll here.

Didn't work during the last time Republicans had majorities in all three legislative branches (which was pretty recently even by goldfish standards), so i don't know why it will magically happen the next time.
The libertarian ideal is for social issues to be left out of government hands. Therefore the purpose of government becomes fiscal responsibility/leaving money in the people's hands/less big government and social stances of politicians are viewed as largely immaterial. This is why (practical) libertarians are largely a part of the GOP.

Social issues aren't government issues anyways if you're a libertarian. Just vote republican but shake your head at the nutjobs misrepresenting conservative ideals in the media.

Not a fault in the AT, just a problem with people who expected everything to come easy. The biggest problem this game had was trying to cater to people that didn't want to play it.
The problem with this line of thought is that some of the best Blaster powers are melee powers. Drain Psyche, Psychic Shockwave, a few of the nukes, Hot Feet, Burn, Soul Drain, etc. To stay at range, especially on a high recharge Blaster build, is to gimp maximum damage output in many cases. The tradeoff comes in dealing more damage at higher risk of being defeated. Obviously in a lot of cases that risk wasn't worth it.

Eh I'm not sure about that- My fire/mental for example had almost 100% uptime on his snipe between aim and concentration. I never worked out the attack chain precisely but I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to work in when to use what in order to always have insta-snipe in a rotation against ST's. Also in the case of /Dark I'm pretty sure perma soul drain would be enough for perma snipe on just one target without tactics, if ED capped tohit was slotted into the power.

I'm not gonna lie, the DCUO combat is ridiculously fun. But their power options feel sort of limited, as with their costumes. I really love how Archery works in DCUO- one side of the mouse shooting arrows and the other side bow melee. It feels pretty great. But barring that, CO is in my opinion a much better game.

    1. I am talking about in-game, not their forums which I have hardly touched. Not unlike these forums, useful in-game info is very, very deeply buried if one seeks the answer to a specific question.

    2. I have yet to see "veteran Co players giving assistance in game via channels." What I did see was a bunch of snark along the lines of "OMG here they come, the game is ruined!!!" Not to mention a lot of disdain for free players - unfortunately, I am not paying for anything until I see how well I like the game. Adorable. Makes me want to play, let me tell you.

I will join the CoX channel there. However it still seems that most people in-game do not want CoX migrants. Which is their loss, but whatever.
I guess I'm sorry for being snippy with you, but the experience you were communicating really struck me as probably not true since my own has been so vastly different. I did join the cox channel as soon as I got there, and that could be a lot of why my experience has been so different than yours.

    3. You're a condescending jerk. I'd ask you to post your CO global so that those so minded could make a point of avoiding you in-game, but I am sure your sunny and helpful attitude would make you stand out in a crowd.
I was being condescending because you were being combative and insulting.

Uh... So, what? You want the instructions to take up your whole screen? Would you like to get a simultaneous text message, voice mail, snail mail letter, Facebook comment, etc. every time the game has direction to offer you? Along with your computer going into full screen message received mode, with voice verification? Just to make sure that you read the instructions? You know, you could also just... Read the instructions. On your own accord. If they're too "small" for you, I guess you can use that same excuse for running red lights. "It was too small officer, make the lights bigger!"

Why in hell's bells would I decide to close dialog boxes and ~then~ come HERE complaining? That makes no sense whatever.

    1. They call CoX dated looking?!!!! CO looks like something done on an Etch-a Sketch, and thats with the outlines turned off. The water effects are a true LOL. Capes: LOL.
...Yeah. Champions has better graphics than COH. Even the people who don't like CO's art style admit to that. Champs has better graphics, it's just a fact. Whether or not you like the art style is personal preference, but it's certainly not grounds for general insults and CAPITAL LETTER LOL'S.

    2. In-game community seems very snarky and unwelcoming. They *know* we are coming there, and its totally "OMG N00BS." People asking for help in Broadcast are either ignored or mocked.
Oh yeah, they're so snarky. What kind of jerks would set up a sticky thread in their forums and create several channels, plus plan a welcome to CO event for the day after COH closes!? These people sound like condescending jerks! And how dare they have the audacity to answer all COH player's questions with several pages of responses on their boards, while veteran CO players give assistance in game via channels! Man, those CO players. I don't know how they could have the nerve to go around, not insulting our graphics or our community. We can't let em get away with it!
  22. Make a SS/Fire Brute! You still have time to beat the game with minimal investment before it all ends.

Yea that's what I've been thinking too. I personally read all the popups despite my underlying desire to close them and mash buttons. I'm feeling like a lot of people here expected to be able to close the instructions and still understand what's going on, and then they decided to complain about it.
  24. I never thought I'd say this but I miss the mods.

It bums me out that COH's memory will be tainted by a bunch of people who want to have physical relations with video game characters.

Why is this sketchiness being perpetuated?
