Quote:It's not a waste if they make you pay for it ... and I would. either have it cost the same as a repec and last a month subscription. or 1/2 or 1/4 the price and be a one use thing. Because it doesn't ACTUALLY do anything in game, it would just be an aid.No it doesn't make sense for the devs to waste time and resources to build a third test environment just because you can't be bothered to use the Test/Beta servers.
Besides, this may mean nothing to you. But, it means something to me. Just like costumes or beast MM sets might mean something to you, but mean nothing to me. At least I realize that Someone wants something, I support them getting it and put what insight I can offer into it. I'm not the one that going to decide in the end if it get's build anyway. So, if you want just disagree and be done, do that. Though, the better and more constructive options are: give alternatives(like the posters on this subject have, and I thank you for the information on how to do do trial runs in test), or agree and sign. But, arguing with me just keeps my post near the top. So, thanks for thatWay to be a team player. LOL
To those that have post on this. You are some of the people I am most interested in reading the insight of, though we don't always agree, because your insight is thoughtful, expirienced, and educational.
P.S. I was about to ask what the first to test options were; test/beta, right? Why is there a differense between those anyway? -
Quote:Analogy: First person suggests, "Hey It would be cool if there was a bridge that went from point "A" to point "B".
Other people respond, "Why? We have a perfectly good main road going from point "A" to point "B" half a block from where you want to build that bridge."
First person answers, "Well yeah but ya have two stop lights to go thru on that road."
Other people, "So?"
First person, "I don't like stop lights."
Other people, "You do realize that people using the bridge will have to use stop lights at either end of the roads on both ends of the bridge, and there will be additional stop lights on both ends of the bridge itself. Right?"
First person, "What's your point?"
Other people, " That's 4 stop lights people will have to go thru, as opposed to the two that you want to avoid."
First person, "But I like bridges, and think of the years of potential use it will get."
Other people, " . . . And that's when we killed him Your Honor."
Judge, "I find the defendants Not Guilty. Clearly it was Self Defense."
Unfortunately all this information is wrong in application to what we're talking about. The bridge would have no lights, it would just have to be built.
other flaws in logic, it would NOT be a road with 2 light. it would be a round-about that would require a few cycles before exiting(transfereing toons enough to have the money to buy your enhancements) that leads to a railroad crossing (enhancments might not be in the market) That ends with a potential detour back to the beginning (the build doesn't work or fit the way you play). X1000 players.
So ... again it makes more sense to me for the devs to build that bridge than take the LONG way around with many potential problems.
I have no problem with paying for a small amount for a monthly access to this. But, it would be nice if it was available. -
No nictus wolf GM, fine ... but I would still like to see wolves in forests though. Would be cool. They could apply it to other animals too, and put them all in the woods.

Quote:You expect the Devs to take a lot of time to make a new interface to make a virtual respec, place enhancers you dont have, pop an instance plus a new interface to pick your enemy group just because you are too lazy to take a few hours to use the tools already available?
I dont think you will get a lot of sympathy for that idea...
If a die hard fan with plenty of spare time wants to do it that way, I have no problem with it. It is just more of a time suck for the players than it would be for the devs.
Say it would take the devs 300 hours to build it. That's still far less time than the applicable players (combined) take now. That's on the current system for just one toon. Add to that number of the players that would use the new way, where they didn't have time for the current way. We also aren't including the potential YEARS of use.
Analagy: The devs give you a rope bridge to cross a ravine, Some one says they'd like them to make a full bridge, it would be faster. You say you would rather stick with the rope bridge? Doesn't make much sense to me. -
Quote:Going back to a time that people can't agree on the reality of it, isn't recommended. I'll accept them having dinosaurs and even "barbarians/savage men" at the same time. But, I would be upset if they added any specific year time frame "65 million" or a specific name "neanderthals" to the concept or wording.Imagine Portal Corp opens a portal to a dimension where Earth has been stripped of its resources and is a hellish toxic wasteland. But in that dimension they found a rift in time, allowing them to go back 65 million years to plant a colony of humans among the dinosaurs. Led by a tough military guy (imagine the guy from Avatar) they have to fight against not only the dinosaurs but evil people who want to despoil the past as well.
Notice, I'm not promoting evolution or creation. I just want the concept (should it be made) to be as generic as possible. -
The most sensible option to me would be: Add roaming pack of wolves to all zones that have a forest. It would be nice to see something other than CoT in the forests.
In eden, add a nictus posessed wolf GM roaming followed by floating dog shaped nictus energy. that would be funHe would have powers similar to Romulus.

Quote:It took a minute to realize what this was. You're saying the Devs are giving us coal for christmas with 2 sets of respec trials in the weekly TFs ... right?December 20-December 26, 2011: Eden Trial, from Woodsman in Eden; The Crystal of Serafina. from Ice Mistral in St. Martial
December 27, 2011-January 2, 2012: Terra Volta, 44-50, Major Richard Flagg in Peregrine Island; Tree of Thorns, 44-50, from Ractespriel in the Nerva Archipelago
January 3-January 9, 2012: Time's Arrow from Imperious in Cimerora
January 10-January 16, 2012: Terra Volta, 24-33, from Jane Hallaway in Independence Port; Tree of Thorns, 24-33, from Sparcetriel in the Nerva Archipelago
Really, Devs? REALLY?
Coal, for the lot of you. And Athlete's Foot. Stockings brimming with coal and foot fungus. -
Quote:Starters. I would like enough natural and enough unnatural pools that I could take all 4 pool sets as one or the other. Be able to be all natural or all super, yet still get similar buffs.1) Except what was suggested in the OP will never fly as Power Pools, and I can give you a positive guarantee they won't even work as Epics for everyone. You can't offer power pools that could constitute the better part of a Blast set if you chose to go with them, even with the associated drawbacks. Pools are supplementary powers, and these have the potential to turn into primary powers if you take enough of them.
2) The only reason I'm suggesting Epics is because Epics are the only place where an AT clearly and deliberately breaks out of its designated role. Melee get ranged attacks, ranged get shields, controllers get damage and so forth. If you're looking for something that upsets balance this strongly, that's an Epic pool.
3) I realise that anyone could pick up a gun or a knive, but not everyone can knife down a giant robot.
1) I agree to a point on this comment. The defenses and the attacks need to be split up more, so you can't JUST take one set to get all your defenses.
2) I disagree, Existing power sets break the mold too. Super Speed: flurry, Super Jump: combat jumping, Fighting: all of them. So, I see no reason to not have more natural ones.
3) Though that is true, the same logic would apply to the WHOLE game. so, let's just not go there.
I would actually support adding a pool to the list.
Reflex:
quick strike: punch minor damage
quick movement: [auto] running speed buff and 5% recharge buff
lucky move: [auto] M/R/AoE def 3%
quick breath: [auto] +20% endurance a last second breath before you go below 5% endurance. -

That seems like a lot more work then it should be. I stand by my original suggestion. A WW contact that lets you try a build before you waste a respec, and buy/waste time on inspirations. Yes, Mids is a great tool, but I still can visualize the effects in game. Contact would let me do that.

Born Steeler fan, But I'm routing for 49ers. Because, my roommate had a rough year and his 49ers winning makes him happy.
P.S. I'm not gay ... just a fantastic guy. LOL
Also, a unique place to post about this topic. -
Quote:I'm VIP ... FTW. I'll try that I guess, but, it seems like even more work, for me the player then adding a WW contact. This already exists. It is what players use the test and beta servers for. They copy over the stuff they want to test and try it out before they do anything to their characters on the live servers.
For those that don't have access to the test/beta servers, it's another of the incentives for subscribing.
does beta let you pick ANY enhancments to apply to the build? or do you still have to find/buy them? -

Quote:It's not an emote, it's a toggle ... oh, the colpsing part. NM. I'm sure walk has a specific speed, They should be able to track, if you're moving and how long it would take to reach a mile etc. they can tell if you have auto run on and are AFK.Heheheheh...lulz. But can badges even be awarded in-engine for using an emote under a certain condition? Or would they have to code that in.
The colapsing part ... would it have to be at the exact moment you hit 1000? -
-
They should make all emote toggleable. amagine running around town sipping tea. LOL. Or dancing around town. attack powers would over ride it, but then you'd go right back to dancing, sipping tea. Alakazamreact would probably be the most entertaining to watch as someone runs or fights. HAHA *poof*attack*poof*attack*poof*running. So many LOLs.

Walk to all the stores in a map
Badge: window shopper.
reduce cost of TO,DO,SOs -
I'm not a blaster player ... But I want to try one. I was thinking this set but I would like to know expeirienced blasters opinions of those sets together, powers to take and skip. My plan is to be Mainly ST oriented and have survival based on attack speed, and the regen/recovery drain. Attack: run in, drain all enemy endurance then blast them, starting with the one that has endurance left.
What would be the diffeculty setting to have mostly solo bosses? and random minions? -
Walk from contact to mission
Badge: Passive aggressive
LOL -
Good idea, I wouldn't use any of the emote movement options for that reason.
P.S. they need a speed "skipping" emote for run. LOL -
In many cases, I wish people would read the whole thread before posting on it.
Too many times, there are 3-10 (depending on number of responses) redundant posts.

Make a contact in the WW/BM that lets you do a fake respec and allows you to put ANY IOs in your toon. then you can pick an enemy group and go fight them to see how you like your build concept. It would save lots of influence and time.
For obvious reasons, there would be no XP, influence, Drops, or anything like that for doing it.
There might be a Badge: Frugal badge. for doing it though.
I am not a numbers person and would prefer to be able to see some of my build ideas in action. -
Quote:This, They could just remove the set bonuses when fighting PvP ... otherwise fighting map NPCs would be more annoying.I'd almost rather see IOs disabled completely in PVP zones. It was far more fun (and accessible) when everyone had SOs instead.
Of course, being pre-I13 didn't hurt either.
I remember going to PVP zones and there actually being people there and not being insta killed.
Another problem with your concept, is hazard zone LVLing. any new VIP player could go at LVL 30 (or whatever LVL) and put all the IO's they need to be stronger and then just farm the minions on the map.
