And they don't drop in AE missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Unless it's a Dev's Choice arc.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you choose normal (non-ticket) rewards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought it had been stated definitively that AE missions do not drop purple recipies no matter what.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope. It's even been Dev certified that Dev-Choice missions do indeed drop Purples (when you chose drops over Tickets).

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. And as Z stated, you need to select "drops" when doing DC arcs in order to benefit from this now, but it gets the same drop rate as standard missions. I've had a number of people ask me how I got purps to drop on my DC arc, even recently, so the drop effect is still in play AFAIK.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
I suspect it isn't possible but I'm going to ask .. is it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If someone's willing to update it regularly, yeah. Leandro has his offline mission editor available. As per the author (I'm GTalking him right now): It works in Issue 15, but doesn't include tags.

(will review to see where his main badger is not playing to make it more efficient)

    Ah, what the [censored].

Yeah, it sucks, happens same time every year too. They should fix that.

*offers you a complimentary 'free farm lol' ticket for Champion's AE crowd*

    Happy b-day.

Second Mission: We destroyed the five portals, and on the advice of people who had done the TF before, we left Reichsman fly around until the mission ended. So I'm assuming that you just cannot damage him at all? Or is it just really hard to do?

    [/ QUOTE ]

He's actually untouchable. Think Phase Shift, but he can hit you through it.

    [ QUOTE ]
We had a plan to use the temp powers in team order. That plan quickly fell apart. I'm still confused on this power... Does it end the second the stream stops from the gun? Or does it last for a certain amount of time? If it lasts, how can you tell it is still up?

    [/ QUOTE ]

EDIT: Quoting Joe, quoting Horatio: "The dimensional grounding ray isn’t intended to be used at specific points in the fight; it should be used early on, and one hit will do." Hmm. Guess the multiple blasts were just to make me feel better during that long-frickin'-fight.

    [ QUOTE ]
I think the order they were freed was: Countess Crey, Akarist (was that his name?), Nemesis, and Vanessa DeVore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Akarist was replaced in beta to Gyrfalcon (the Malta AV) because Akarist was a really dumb choice for an "Axis of Evil" representative.

    Hami Raid soon?

I'll step up and show interest. Planning phase, not so much sadly: Not much time on my hands these days to be a real raid leader anymore, but glad to lend some redside damage to the field.

Two MMs, one Crabbie. The thugs/poison is a debuff fiend. Crabbie's more AOE focused, but will be alt-speccing that to more ST work this week finally.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Just respeced back into a Crab from Huntsman (Too complicated to play a huntsman I think) and ran an ITF and Rikti raid, didnt die once. I dont have ANY IO's yet, its all SO's, and not even one common atm. I think I am gong to set my farming brute on the back burner for a while so I can do a TON of raids with my Crab. Man, I forgot how fun they are with all those orange numbers!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Crabbies are utter monsters on anything where there's a lot of minion/Lt mobs. ITF comes to mind, but so does the new Reichsman SF (esp. on the last room... but that'd be spoilering).

    Love meh crabbie. Enjoy yours!

Take my spot. I've already run both of these Reichsman mishes, have fun.

Well then Turg you take my spot. I just dozed off at WW while buying salvage. Almost bought a fortune for 38,000,000. Good thing hitting enter doesnt place bid. I'll see everyone else tomorrow night.

That means there's still a free seat then, I'm staying logged off. Thor's moofing in pain, gonna relax with him tonight. Seeya, g'luck!

If you selected a badge as a title before i15 went live, you should still have the title (as long as you don't change it to something else).

I have several toons still sporting the "Architect LXXV" title, and a friend of mine still has "The Chosen One" selected.. even though those badges are no longer available.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm dubious about that. My Heroes had their TCO badges removed, but not my villains. Lends more credence to it having been reassigned behind-scenes, though. Having said that, I'm sure they'll go in and remove the lingering titles too at some point, in the name of fairitude.

When I saw you start organizing stuff last year, I knew who the next lens would be. Every week, you keep affirming that faith in the promise you bring.

[/ QUOTE ] We started this in February of THIS year

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. For some reason I had November stuck in my head from when I first PM'd Luna about it. Turns out that was March. MARCH! Time's fun when you're having flies.

    Fixed my original post. :P
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Honestly, I'm so slammed with trying to organize people for the teams, that I usually do not send out global tells to people to see if they want to join.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm taking a minute out of my Sunday afternoon to praise you for your work. Put your seatbelt on.

It's one thing to be playing the game all the time. It's another thing ENTIRELY to be willing to sit down and impose order on the lolchaos that online gaming represents. It requires a few basic things: Determination, relaxed attitude, firm guidance, clarity of thought and speech, and the ability to step up and lead in a situation where everyone wants to be led.

On Freedom, over the years, quite a few of us have gotten it right. Eddie's Shard TF announcements always overwhelmed me with the sheer amount of tenacity, signup and WORDS in his post. (Cheers, wherever you are, Eddie!) J-Man's "zomg debt" runs, where if you look at it on paper looks like an exercise in strained madness, but when you experience it on Teamspeak, it shows just how you can maintain a fun gaming crew for half a decade. E-Man's blogtastic newsbytes. The Hami raids (mostly pre-I9, granted, but the recent showings have had a lot of promise too). The RWZ runs. RV badge crews. The PVP callouts. All of these require someone to step up and be a lens for everyone else to shine through.

When I saw you start organizing stuff early this year*, I knew who the next lens would be. Every week, you keep affirming that faith in the promise you bring.

Kudos, Luna. Keep doing what you're doing, and your deeds will sing sagas all on their own.

(And people will prolly sign up for THOSE, too.)

    * Edited because I thought it was still March. I have a hard time realizing what month I'm in since 2009 started...

    (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

On a related noted, I did this TF on release day and we didnt have too many issues defeating Reichsman, we staggered the use of the temp power (gun thingees).

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is key. Do this right, and you really don't need to worry about Shivans or nukes (although they WILL make it go faster, but by how much I'm unsure). You just need patience.

    Seeya tonight.

    A warm thank you

    [ QUOTE ]
Yes the blonde one is back, Allot has changed that I need to get used to. Like no recipe for completing TF's, you have to buy them with merits now. But enough of that, I just want to say Thank you to those who welcomed me back. Allot has changed in my RL that kept me away. I almost had my PHD in Marine Biology untill I got sick and that is now on permanant hold. I have this stupid Blood disorder called hughes Syndrome or sticky blood syndrome as it's also known as and it's costing me my leg. Yes, I will be the one legged woman gunning for the one legged man in an [censored] kicking contest. But again enough of that. Thank you all for the warm welcome back and I'll be seeing you somewhere in Paragon City.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Holy crap, Shandi. I had no idea!

*pours you some moonshine he got from WV last year* This won't cure anything, but it'll sure make you feel like it did. Sorry to hear about the health issues - glad to see you're back (and yeah, I got your Faces msg), but I feel horrible about what you're going through.

Stay strong, get saddled up in COH, the Nazis are back an'... well, the rest is just spoilerstuff.

Since I don't offer up my MArc for reviews, I logged in to see if anyone had played it recently -- and was stunned to see THREE COMPLAINTS!!!

Now, I don't pretend to be the best writer in the world. But Wicked, Wicked Wonderland (#1224) has been played by 192 people and has a 4 star rating ... and I couldn't imagine what anyone had to complain about.

All three "complaints" were exactly the same.

    I used the word ... S.E.X.

Now mind you, the context was in the course of someone's name: The Sex of Diamonds (in my mind it was a silly pun in a silly story regarding the card "the Six of Diamonds"). This custom critter wasn't HAVING s.e.x.; she just had this three letter word in her name.

MIND YOU ... THIS IN A GAME WHERE ANYONE CAN - AND OFTEN DOES! - CREATE WOMEN WITH BARELY ANY CLOTHES ON ...

... WOMEN WHOSE BREASTS SO HUGE THAT THEY WOULD EVEN BREAK THE INVULNERABLE BACK OF "My Super X Girlfriend"!!!

Sex... as in "Please check one:" Sex: [ ] Male [ ] Female

People have asked me about this in-game, and that's fair. But to COMPLAIN ABOUT IT???? I mean, complaints to devs are for grievances that should get an arc banned, aren't they?

Frankly, I don't know if the complaints made were recent because I never checked for complaints before. Yesterday, when I updated my arc for I15 status, I saw the comment bar for the first time and figured - great - they list all the great comments I've received since this was released. But Nooooo! None of those get listed. Only these 3 braindead complaints.

    What is wrong with people?

I only hope that whoever complained about the word S.E.X. never gets any in RL.

And for the rest of you who have played my arc and have left such positive and supportive comments for me, I APPRECIATE YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER ... because you guys are what makes authoring these things worthwhile.

If you HAVEN'T yet played "Wicked, Wicked Wonderland" (#1224) yet, I hope you will NOW ... just as a show of solidarity.

But if the word S.E.X. offends you, please DON'T play my arc. You'll save us both some aggrevation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1. Nice way to make a rant into a successful advertisement of your arc. People bought it hook, line and sinker.

    2. Personally, I couldn't give a fig about SEX being in the game. I've been doing it for almost twenty years now, so it's a no brainer for me when it's thrown out there.

    3. However, playing Devil's Advocate: The "Complaints" field are really there for people to notify other players about something they feel is worth noting that you may not have included in your MA description. My first arc had about 3 or so complaints that, from the player's perspective, are perfectly valid. While I don't think they're personally complaint worthy, complaints ARE subjective, and that has to be taken into account by the author, the complainer AND anyone reading the complaint.

This works to your advantage. If someone would be offended by SEX OF DIAMONDS in your arc, they'd see the complaint, and not play it. Your rating does not suffer by a 1-star of someone whose finer sensibilities were sullied by your crass literary incompetence. (/sarcasm) Complaints don't hurt your rating; they do a service to the players out there who can read it, and make judgements on their own.

Building on this: I think there should be a way to get those complaints reviewed by a CSR for cleanup on a regular basis, either on a scheduled sweep or by request from the author. I have complaints which are just blank, and probably just fat-fingered mistakes, but they're still out there. Giving the authors some control on the Complaints on their story besides unpublishing/republishing would be a good next-generation utility for us.

123 ratings at 5-stars last night, nicely sitting on the 3rd page.
126 ratings at 4-stars now this afternoon.

Losing all the 0-stars was a good first step, but it's not stopping these people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You could also have just barely been scraping the 5 star average. Take one or two non-5 votes and it could bring you down.

IMO, I'd call this inconclusive. If you suddenly got 12 votes at once, all 1 or 2 star ratings, in a row, I'd be more inclined to call it orchestrated griefing. As others have pointed out, it could simply have been someone who didn't like your story, and that was enough of a hairpin trigger to rank you down.

What's the story arc in question? If I get power back at home today, I'll check it out and grie- er, rate you fairly.
  21. Bah. Power died at 8am. And I was going to get some gaming in today. SO wanted to do the 5TF on Doc T to get him to 666 badges...

The outage might keep me from bringing Thor home today too. DOUBLE bah.

(Update: Doc called this morning, and he's recovering well. Wobbly, but can do his ablutions without assistance, and is able to hobble around when called without obvious pain. He said we could pick him up today, but if we don't have power, I'd rather he stay there honestly. So, Thor's recovering and should be back to keeping my feet company while I wear tights before the weekend's through. )

(Gonna have to break it to him he owes me $7K. Had to cancel my wedding plans for this...)

(If COH wants to donate $7K to me, I wouldn't say no...)
  22. My death was a dumb death. Valk's one-hit strike capacity (super damage blast, with a DoT tick that finishes you immediately) sucks bigtime. ;(

3 deaths total, with just two on the final hero fight. A Master run is most definitely possible with our general team makeup, no need to pad with ATs too far in one direction. Nice run, all, for 99% of the run we barely took damage.

When can we expect the "anti Kheld discrimination" march over Atlas Park City Hall?

They're squiddies. It would be more like an anti-discrimination undulation rather than a march.

This has nothing to do with the discussion, but since you're reading this thread: Beef, I need some help with my BH.com login name as my email address has changed. I tried to make contact a few times since January with your crew but haven't gotten a response. PM me if you wanna help, don't if you're intentionally avoiding me in order to keep me off the top ten badgers' list.

There. Now, back to the conversation.

We had some nice lag spikes at the beginning, which ultimately culminated in Kin DC'ing just as we hit a Ballista mob. Add to the fact that I didn't even see it until he one-hit me....it wasn't a good encounter. lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that EB caught me off-guard cuz of the mob density when we turned the corner. I was just blasting through with my thugs, when suddenly 3/4 of them got one-shotted, but I couldn't see why. Then I got popped, again w/o seeing my attacker. Never even saw the EB, just had enough time to point my pets at him post-rez and heal up a few of you stragglers when he went down...

I semi-AFK'd the last mish cuz of work emergencies that I had to alt-laptop and address. Very quick and clean run, my hat's off to the non-lowbie crew. Legbah is now half a level from 50.
