Same, except that if I'm not feeling perky for tonight, I'll bow out (I'm already a "maybe", but if I'm not there at 10pm sharp, assume I'm a failed attendant).
-
Quote:Both of these, if I had to guess. Most likely, as you need to be fully aligned to reap the reward.

Quote:Well based on this Issue 20 info that just came out literally a few minutes ago it appears that the Devs have in fact decided to "decouple" the respec tokens from the respec trial badges.
"Delightful." -
Quote:There's always room for Jello.Go ahead and sign me up as TBA. I'm not sure who will still need a Notice/shards by then.....
My current goal is to get my primary alpha trees to tier 3 (one in each tree) for flexibility. I'm about 3/4 of the way now, in fact (one Tier 3, the rest being Tier 2's and counting).

Please flag me as a "no" on this one, gonna be a late night for me.
GL to everyone!

You might be best in taking this to the Defiant server forum or the Euro Lounge, so your responses are more targeted to the server you're looking to do this on.

Okay, so to help out @helin carnate, I ran with a pub LGTF tonight on Freedom to get this straightened out with a demofile.
Team had (for the Hami phase) 7 players. One brute with a taunt aura, that was it for taunt options. Rest were other ATs (blasts, trollers, MM, a corruptor?).
Order of the fight:
1. We took down all Rikti ourselves, no leading them into the goo. This was done on request to reduce the # of variables in the aggro question.
2. We then orbited the goo, taking out the yellows and blues, going in and out of the goo.
3. We then entered the goo and took out the greens at relatively close range.
4. When it was just Hami, I called for a halt and depart, and I entered solo, no stealth, and tested Hami aggro radius. I had to get effectively pointblank for him to start shooting at me.
5. ..after my rez... we went back and took down 3 pylons, and then I test Hami's aggro radius again. Got very close, no aggro.
6. We then dropped the rest of the pylons and finished the job. This was the only point when he actually attacked.
There was one point where our DP blaster thought he was getting hit by Hami blasts, but it was the yellow blasts popping him about 2 or 3 at a time.
So that's it. I have a demorecord if anyone wants it. Or if someone's got a place where I can upload it, I'll send it along and people can refer to that if they ever wanna see it in action.
EDIT: Oh, here's the link to the demofile shared via Google Docs. It SHOULDN'T require a sign-in, but when I tested it just now it did, so YMMV. If it's a big problem, I can try sharing it super-public.
Demofile: Hami-Pylon1

2nd EDIT: I should give a shout out in thanks to @tanknation for leading the TF effort that evening, and being very cooperative with my request to run the Hami phase a certain way. Everyone else on the team was pro-quality and adapted immediately, but tank's the only name I remember.Props to you, @tanknation!

Quote:Just did, and they addressed the issue rather quickly too. Cheers to Sekoia for the swift response on their board.I'd say post on their Badge verification forum and ask what's up.

Dr. Turgenev, if you please. Illusion/Storm, and I think I'll definitely make this one.

Quote:...aw, fudge. I just got on. =/Thanks all for coming! MB and Ms. Heavenly filled in our last two slots as Turg was.....more than a little late. =P
(I hate the early runs... hate 'em... hate 'em...)
(On the other hand, I got two months' worth of laundry done tonight, so it balances out.) -
Quote:Approaching the two day mark now. The WEIRD thing is that CIT has my data already (see here: http://cit.cohtitan.com/character/13743). But on the Leaderboard, none of the heavy hitters I usually see are showing up (Lothic, Caliburst, Piyerus, etc).According to this post on the titan boards, it's only updated every 24 hours. It's a year and half old post and it seems to me that it's done a bit more frequently now.
Acc'd to the top of the leader board it says it updates every 4 hours, but I think something might be bugged right now. -
There are also a number of user-written guides that would be of use to you. Zombie_Man wrote up an Issue 19 breakdown that covers most of the beginner to middling questions you'd have for Incarnate work, for instance.
I don't see how the game would have "crippled" you since you left, unless you left in summer of 2005 just before Enhancement Diversification. The original powersets work more or less exactly how you left it (don't know your build, so don't know if a particular powerset might not work quite the way you remember it). What the game DOES allow you to do, however, is "fill in the gaps" for your build with set bonuses and, now, Incarnate slots. The Incarnate path is quite enjoyable for me, to be honest: It encourages teaming, lets you push the envelope slowly with level shifts and significant enhancement bonuses to your build, and it's not something you can really "buy your way to the top" like you can with Inventions.
I've given the "this is how Incarnate stuff works" speech in-game quite a few times over the last month or two.If the Wiki doesn't answer your immediate questions, look me up, we'll catch a drink at Pocket D, and we'll go over how the Incarnate system works, and how to make it work in your gaming workflow.

Hey TO: Any chance we can run this one on Friday or Sunday nites? We have a pretty regular Master run scheduled at 1030pm on Sat's. I know this is a one-hit job, but I wanna be able to do both when they're up.
Sorry to hear about the fail on the AV crews, but that's usually where the first death will happen. GL on the next one, I'll try to be there! -
Quote:Very easy... when it works... I re-upped my info to CIT for my main Friday evening. The toon itself shows 1203 verified badges, but he's not on the leaderboard still. I smell a conspiracy. XDCIT also tracks your inf and the levels/powersets of your entire account. Certain things like money can be hidden manually from other users if you prefer.
(Not sure where the plug-up is, I see a few names of people who re-upped their data more recently than me, and they're on the leaderlist fine.) -
Quote:Look up the forum crew "The Freedom Horde". E-Man and Luna are our two biggest cheerleaders, but we all get messy as a collective.I do have my main on Freedom and would be glad to be part of a test group to try and figure out just what the hell, if anything is going on with the pylons. Sat and Sun work for me.
You can also contact me and we'll hash out a time/date too.

Quote:Sentinel does make it ridiculously easy, yep.I believe they wiped the database in the past day or so and started everything over. At least, all of my characters no longer had there badge data on there. Luckily, Sentinel makes it really easy to fix.
Thanks for the tip, I just updated my main toon now.

Quote:Ever since I created a few characters last year that possessed a damage PBAoE, I began to encounter problems with the ping rate slowly rising the more and more I played. I was cursing everyone from my modem to my ISP to (shudder) even the developers. As I attempted to seek solace within the community, I found that I was a leper and all alone.
My problem was that as the longer I played, the more and more my computer would "hang" (or "freeze") every time damage from the PBAoE would tick. It got so bad, it was comparable to fighting by screen shot (one frame every two to three seconds). And it was only my character that would do it. Last night after getting to my "fighting by screen shot" mode, my friend was kind enough to log on to see if it would happen when he used his PBAoE. He rounded up two large mobs, I jumped in beside him and he hit his PBAoE. The game was running perfectly smooth...until I hit my PBAoE. By this time (according to netgraph), my ping was over 1,100.
Alas, my poor fire tank and my electric tank were suffering...but from what?
My original computer specs...
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Memory

Thermaltake W0116RU 750W Complies with ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V version SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
I had a 22" widescreen monitor, Fatality sound card and a few other things in there, along with your basic cable company issued Motorola modem and Lynksys broadband router. I thought that I had surfed one too many questionable websites and it was acting as a bot but scan after scan with Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot and AVG, nothing came back as a definitive clue. Anyway, I wanted to build a new rig since this one was a couple of years old so I went out and bought new parts.
Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor

Thermaltake TR2 TRX-1000M 1000W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
I also bought a new Motorola Surfboard modem (the other one died after six years of faithful service) and an HP 27" LCD monitor (it's nice...it's very nice) hooked up with HDMI. After a fresh install of Windows 7, I copied the updater, downloaded the game and took off running to see if the issue had been resolved.
It hadn't.
For the past few weeks, I've been going crazy trying to figure out what in the heck could be wrong. Then while my mind was wandering in the shower this morning, reviewing the basics of my problem, it suddenly hit me.
Three or four years ago, I had wanted to see what kind of damage my blaster was putting out after Enhancement Diversification (ED) was released. To review them in my own sweet time, I had enabled the chat log.
DING, DING, DING, DING, DING!!!
Yes, for the past couple of years, I had my chat log enabled recording everything that happened in the game...which includes damage given. Imagine your computer trying to constantly update an ever growing text file. This explains why when I start out, it's fine but as it progresses, it slows down and freezes up. After I disabled my chat log, I was able to play for two hours this morning and my ping never got above 150 and no frame freezing.
The size of the chat log last night when I logged off was 5MB. Thanks to CutePDF (awesome FREE program I recommend), I converted it to a PDF. Thankfully, I don't own a printer or else I'd be hip deep in paper right now.
The total length of this file after two hours of play time? 1,336 pages.
So the reason why I am posting this is because there may be another poor unfortunate soul out there that suffered from the same issue I did. I searched the forums (I have poor search-fu, by the way) and didn't find an answer so perhaps my long-winded story can assist them.
If you are experiencing slow down, lag or frame freezing when you use your PBAoE damage aura, then check your settings to see if you have the chat log enabled. Disable it and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps,
R.
Kinda funny/curious though. You'd think the chatlog function would be machine-rooted, and not cloud account based. I mean, a brand new system having the exact same problem... wow. -
Quote:I seem to remember there being some less tedious way of doing this besides pen and paper. My current badge situation is all bshnebin... I have tons and tons of them and no practical way of tracking which I have and which I want.
Any help is greatly appreciated.Quote:Quote:I use HeroStats and Badge-Hunter.com
(Mainly because I already had a badge-hunter account before the Titan Sentinel existed. I dunno if Sentinel is okay/good/better.)
Which one should you use? Well, which site do you give a toot about?I find CIT more helpful compiling "to do" lists from their site, but BH seems a bit less buggy (right now the two CIT badge leaders are at 1230 badges, which is a bug in their DB - I chatted with one of them, they were utterly confused about the badge amount CIT was reporting). BH is more straight-laced. Less bling, more bang. Forums there are quite helpful too.
But yeah, for ease of use... Sentinel is AMAaaaaazing. -
This is a hold.
This is a sleep.
As mentioned earlier, only Fear or Sleep mezzes can be broken with an attack (and with Fear, only with a certain behavioral response). If you have a hold, it's a "hard" hold and won't release even if you continue to attack. -
I need to add this. MB spent some time in Icon getting this info for you. I was pestering him for almost 15 minutes before he got out of the costume build screen.

Quote:That's one of the reasons why I made it my pet project last week during the LG runs: The teams I ran with were fairly coordinated and followed the same tactics either time, with the one variable being when the pylons came down. Having eight heroes attack a green mito, unstealthed, without being attacked when the pylons remain up (except if you have someone with a taunt aura get too close), whereas having them being hit with AOE blasts from the nucleus when the pylons were down, seems like evidence of behavior to me.And yet there have been others that say they have been targeted and hit by Hami both before and after the pylons were down without being that close. From my personal observations it would appear that Hami just kind of sits there until someone gets too close, and does not seem to matter if the pylons are up or down.
So far, not a single person has offered any other proof other than observations. Observations (including my own) that can be flawed due to several different variables, not under the control of the observer, on different teams. No one has scanned Hami before and after the pylons were down to find any difference in any powers. No one has found any discription of any power that would cause Hami to have a different aggro range depending on the status of the pylons. No red name has come in and said, hahaha you are all wrong, this is how it works. All we have is conflicting observatsions.
The OP was looking for proof that leaving the pylons up makes things easier. So far, there has been none.
What you're saying is that you don't want evidence based on observation, you want numbers, which ultimately only a Dev can come forward and confirm/deny outright - which they're most likely unwilling to do.
I can't PROVIDE any further evidence, honestly. I tried using the Analyzer temp power over the Hami, but I ended up expending the charges w/o getting anything substantiative or quotable. I focused on behavior at that point, since it seemed easier to gauge if the Hami was swelling for an AOE blast release or not.
If you want to give this a whirl, look me up on Freedom (or Test, if you can get interested parties to check it out) and you can do the number observations while I run the team thru its paces. -
Quote:Unless you're wrong about being wrong, which makes you wrongier than what you wrongishly perceive to be the wrong side of the party of this conversation.Correlation does not equal causation. You can observe several fat people drinking diet coke but that does not mean that the diet coke is what caused them to be fat. Just because leaving the pylons up and less aggro from Hami happened at the same time means squat.
People have had personal OBSERVATIONS that are wrong, such as the world being flat. People were just as passionate about being wrong about that topic as people seem to be about being wrong on this topic.
Still, I'm pretty confident that I'm right. I had teams do it both ways, and watched passively from above Hami (everyone knew what needed doing, so the patterns of attack were very similar). Except in one instance where someone who got close had a taunt aura going, the Hami never fired a shot at a player that got up to the green ring when the pylons were up. On the runs where the pylons got dropped first, Hami would fire off AOE blasts at players regularly and directly (not splash damage due to Rikti targets nearby). -
Quote:If you're trying to be factual, that's not the case here. Recently, the Devs have redefined the "Master" approach for Tin Mage/Apex works more along the idea of an accolade; you get a few sub-badges for each arc, and if you get them all, you get the "Master" set bonus badge as an accolade. I don't know how they'll do future Master badges, but it's possible they'll continue along a similar vein. Or not. Devs are fickle in their ways. You are only really masters if you do that without temps.
If you're just trying to say "yer only a REAL master if you play like REAL men do", then that's fine, but I wanted to make the distinction clear.
