  1. I've never done the Calvin Scott TF. Looking forward to this. Sign me down with Dr. Turgenev.

  3. Would love to, but I'm in NYC this weekend for rampant debauchery. Have fun, all!

Durr, forgot about the unresistable quality, so that goes out the window right there. Incarnate stuff is hard. Things were simpler when I could just six slot damage.

Do you drop the seers before the cutscene, or after? And yeah, having that extra time if your team finishes might be part of the squeaking-in.. I usually don't cast them 'til the entire sabotage phase is complete. I also go running to help the other team too, so I don't like the Seers trailing me and collecting aggro/getting shot. Hm.

Same, although I found it on Doc Turg, who's switched sides more than Magneto did during the 1990s.

Anyway, whatever works best for you guys and gets you through the process
Hrm. I'll watch the clock the next time I run this. I kick off the T4 Ageless for +recharge and recovery regularly, and Hasten is on auto-fire, along with a few (but honestly not many) recharge bonuses from IOs. I cast Seers once I get outside the door post-sabotage phase, and I don't get them recharged in time for the finishing fight during his Unstoppable. So I've been holding onto them for the first Unstoppable phase section, like most others.

I'll try JUST as I exit the warehouse/lab and see if it makes a difference. It's only about 15 seconds, though, but it's worth a shot.

What kinda +recharge buffs do you have rolling, BC?

So, two teams ran tonight, one under my spurious and chaotic care. Despite my typical efforts, this team WON the Master badge at 38:51!

    Dramatis Personae:

    Ultima Ratio Regum, Scrapper
    Maxus Orangus, Tanker
    Night-Beast, Scrapper
    Darken Sparrow, Defender
    Krystal Cerinia, Corruptor
    Blankie LeCharge, Controller
    Astralion, Defender

A most excellent run, with most excellent players! You guys made it easy! Thanks to E & Co. for all the organization and execution!
  9. By the way, if someone needs access to the badge, I'd be happy to step down. All of my main badgers already have this. :-)

By the way, it's really cool to be able to post this with my voice. Totally digging my new tablet! XD

...I SHOULD be home in time for this. If it looks like I'll be late, I'll comment here from the Royal Mile Pub. If I'm sober enough to remember how to use my fingers for typing. =/

    1. Well, D's been nuts the last month with all the trial work. If anything, if we had a bird, it woulda been caught, fricasseed and devoured by the unthinking hordes of Incarnates.

    2. You're right. Only Virtue would have formed an impromptu cult to worship a misplaced generic mob.

I stand duly corrected. Thanks for the clarification.

OP: Slotting your alpha for the +1 is still a good idea however; so is going for the additional +2 in the higher incarnate slots, but that'll come with time. If you have another buffer on the team, you might want to coordinate with them to share buffs your way to help artificially normalize you until you get the additional level buffs.

The first few times will be quite bloody, yes, but just tailor your work to your ability to impact. Debuffs and buffs are still very effective, just avoid the extra aggro wherever you can.

BTW, with my ill/storm controller, I do pretty well on either trial. Not comparing build strengths here, just that another squish can work the house on these trials without sudden bedlam and destruction.

I tried lambda and this is pretty much my experience.

first group POOF, I'm dead. I don't even see what hit me, probably just LAG. I think I only got one cast off. There were one or two more POOFs before going inside, I can't even get close to anything for my choking cloud to even try to hold anything. for the most part none of my Mez works on anything worth using mez on. I can't see any indication my char or flash fire do anything but put aggro on me. I end up lagging behind everyone to hope someone else might take aggro first.

Once in the warehouse the first group goes ok with the same wait technique but by the second or third container the tank is at his aggro limit. I'm one shot and POOF I'm dead. self rez using phoenix and die before my body leaves the ground.

I want to know what the developers were thinking when the made this instance. Tanks apparently don't need healers since the healers would just die for the same reason I died. LAMDA can be fun with the right character but it's HORRIBLE on others. I seem to like it the most on my illusion controllers followed by my tanks. I seem to HATE it on almost everything else. Other than hiding in the hospital until this part is over I find it pointless to try and help. It was the worst on my ice/kin controller since slow doesn't seem to scale down like other powers. ( one ice cast and I'm dead ). The whole one shot thing means no healer could save me if they wanted to.

I'm really hating LAMDA and wish I could get my XP doing regular TFs and what not.
Slot an Alpha. I didn't see where you mentioned that. If you're getting whacked this badly, it sounds like you don't have anything in your Alpha slot.

The level 1 is enough to normalize your level with them. If you do the trial with your alpha unlocked but unslotted, you're still fighting at -8 handicap, instead of the natural -4 differential.

Your best bet is to get one to level 3, which gives you the +1 level shift. And as you work on the other slots, you'll get another +2 level shifts from other Incarnate slots.

But seriously, this screams, "I unlocked the alpha but it's not slotted". Is this the case?

Hm. How does that scale downward for exemplaring to a lower level? Say, when I go from 50 to 25?

Seriously, it took this long for someone to mention Good Omens? My gods, people.

"Good Omens" was a hysterical read (still my wife's go-to book when she's in a bad mood), and American Gods is probably the my most favorite out of Gaiman's novel work. Stardust comes in as a very close second, if not equal. Some of his short stories are quite excellent (e.g., Monarch of the Glen is a novella sequel to "Gods").

The Graveyard Book is also an engaging read. For young adults, but Gaiman's approach isn't to dumb down good fiction for kids. It's to make it more accessible to kids. You'll appreciate that distinction in GB and Coraline.

I can personally confirm that you're crazy.

(Always been this way, bro. Drop a lvl 53 end/travel HO in Fly, and one flight IO in Swift, and you'll be at the flight cap anyway with a good cost reduction. I used Hover for years, but Fly is addictive for the simplicity of it.)

That certainly sounds familiar to me. I can't tell you how many Master runs we did where he'd hit Unstoppable for the 2nd time in the last couple of minutes, literally hovering at 4% until the trial failure. Very frustrating when that happens.

Pick out a name, and say it in the voice of the Quake 2 Buff Announcer (link here).
