  1. So I am looking for some help with two of my characters. A crab spider I want to make into a tank and a EB/Pain dom corrupter who I want to improve. Any and all critique welcome. Please tell me if I am being stupid and wrong, only way I will learn and if possible, if you could change the stuff in mid and link it back, that would be better. I'm a visual learner when it comes to this stuff. Thanks all!

My current specs for the crab is as follows. I want to soft cap her so I can do some decent tanking, but unsure how to go about his. I have, however, tried to get high recharge and defences by taking enhancement sets that gives +defence though.

This is my corrupter. I run iTrials with him mainly and he is my farming toon of sorts, so I use him to gear up other toons. My attack chain is usually open with an AoE like ball lightning or Ionic Judgement, charged bolt, lightning bolt, tesla cage or electric fence, charged bolt, either my PBAoE or my other hold/Imb, charged bolt, lightning bolt, rinse, repeat. I also try to be a good healer, using aura to keep people topped up, soothe when one person needs it and nullify when the whole group is getting a little lower than aura can deal with.

  2. Err...I tend to be a more visual person >.> Would you mind just copying and editting my spec for what you would do, please?
  3. So, I need some help on my build. This is my first character, so I've been going by gut and guesses mostly, with some help in terms of how many slots there.

My attack chain is to start with Aim, Charged Bolts, Lightning Bolt, then hit off whatever is up, such as Ball Lightning, a PB AoE if they are close or one of my holds/imobilzes if I am soloing, then when charged bolt is up, hit that off again and lightning bolt again and keep cycling.

The only problems I know I have with my spec are:
    1) I rarely if ever use TB, thinking the slots could be better used else where.
    2) My sets are a bit spotty and if I respec, I might lose alot of them.

So if you guys can tell me where I am going wrong, any obvious or noob mistakes to avoid and ways to improve my spec, that will be fantastic.

(P.S, Mids is saying I've got 3 extra slots but I don't seem to have them, so if there are any missing or if Mids messed up, let me know.

  4. So, question, Bane is a cone/single target DPS with better-than-stalker crits.
Crab is an AoEr who has tanking potential.

What does that make huntsman? A control and ranged DPSer? Just I wanna have a build for each when I hit alpha.
  5. So I've been playing around in Mids and finding my kinda style and what I found I like is to AoE alots. Get the big groups and just see the numbers, so here is my kinda ideal build.

Some was guess work, some of it was other builds. If I would change anything, I might swap the pets for hasten to perma hasten.

Any suggestions or people telling me I'm being stupid are welcome. Anything to help me learn.

Edit: Doh! Forgot to add, any suggestions for the alpha slot? I'm thinking spiritual or vigour. For lore, I'm going to take Cim for that extra bit of DPS. Destiny, rebirth with +max health, judgement vorpal or void, I'm just thinking the vorpal would be a good way to pull. And for my interface, either paralytic or diagmatic. But I'm looking for anyone who knows better.

  6. I think, if anything, this should be an incarnate power. Maybe genesis? They are the only real people with power to share, ya know.

Or if not via that, I think there should be a story arc or task force that explains it and gives it reason. For example: Get beaten up by mooks because the big bads are empowering them, link it into villian starter mission series, hearts of darkness, eventually depower minions and get sponsored powers to do big damage, have a nice big curbstomp battle agaisnt them.
  7. So the trench coat isn't allowed to have the flowing tail with the crab spider backpack, but other items that would conflict with a cloak or flow like the magic bolero and wedding tux do allow it.

Is this a bug, an oversight by the devs or working as intended?
  8. OK, besides alot of AoE, are there any tricks to tanking as a Crab?

And I've heard people use the term permahasten and perma serum, how does that work?
  9. OK. How does this sound then.

The boss does lots of AoE damage. At every 25% he will spawn an aggressive escort that will attack him. You have to burn fast or keep the escort up before he manages to kill them with AoE.

    How does that sound?
  10. So one of the things I love the the multi arm look of the spiders. And in my head I can just imagine them making great tanks, using all those arms to block and what have you.

And I know that it would be hard to do, what with only having two taunts, both of them weak and to hit, but surely with the DPS it would be possible?

Basically, I'm asking if anyone knows how to turn a SoA into a tankish toon and what you would take up to incarnate for them?
  11. But they can be immobilized, I do believe.
  12. I would like to add some bits.

Best way to keep Des up is with regen over heals.
The Hami Avvi is easy enough. He will summoning exploding seedlings that will do big AoE damage to the raid unless Des is nearby.
He does alot of confuse and if you heal while confused he will heal a big %, so Clarion is a good way to go.
3 break frees will break through his confuse.
He will put the Will of the Earth on someone. It looks like a big pinky browny vortex (similar to Time Manipulation) on someone and it will heal the avvi and damage the league, so that person has to run away.
Tanks should always try and keep Hami facing away, as will use an ability (signified by red text) that will do huge damage in a frontal cone.
  13. So what pet gives what debuff out of interest? And has anyone found any good tricks for them?

depending on the story #2 may or may not be liked since NPCs that do a lot of dmg to baddies suck away your rewards and if its just a boss then it will go down quickly once the other mobs show up
It would be about the story more than anything and maybe if the adds stop him regening instead? And I was thinking of making it an EB or AV.
  15. So, I've been looking and there is alot of stuff about making balanced bosses and good enemy groups, but one of the things I want to make is a boss that feels like a boss from a trial. One like UG that regens unless something is killed.

So I was wondering if there is any way to achieve any of these desired effects.

    1) Have a boss that will rapidly regen unless a mob is killed before it reaches them (I was thinking give the AV high regen and have ambush spawn a mob that only use painbringer on the boss to send his regen sky high). I was thinking something similar could be done for end if the mob only had thundering blast and his adds give him end via buffs.
    2) A boss that is about surviving his attacks, damaging his regen, res, defence etc and doing a bit of damage, while letting adds spawn that attack and kill him. (Is it possible to have an enemy group spawn that is only aggressive to him and not the players and does huge damage?)

If I could do them, that would be great, cause I've got stories planned out and those kinda bosses will make great ends to the story, as what could be cooler than fighting a living black hole and using antimatter on it :P
  16. I personally welcome our base-based overlords and am waiting for them to ask me if I am still there.
  17. Oh so true. Mids is alotta fun.

Ill compare, anything I should really be looking for?

And if I were to post my MM and corrupter biluds, would you guys advice me on them or should I move to class specific forums?
  18. I found if your league is struggling to dodge the beam, Incandescence works a treat. And, if you get them when they are floating but before the beam hits, you still get the badge. And if someone is being disintegrated, they get a bonus to all heals they receive.
  19. OK, well, I've speced according to the first guy and I'm playing with that atm. I'm also due a respec trial within the next month, so I'll be testing the builds. Can anyone give me the numbers on the first build though, or tell me how to work them out, please?

My build design atm is to screw up an AV's regen and let my bots protect me while I bring the pain, so I'm going for the longbow pet and stuff. My incarnate powers are gonna be Ion, Spiritual, Longbow and Reactive atm, but I might swap reactive for the -regen or recharge one. Any suggestions on stuff to improve that?
  20. OK, just checking. I like to know a reason for something than just mindlessly follow it.

    Thank you so much ^^
  21. OK, I'll try that, Thank you. But can you give me your justification for Strike I.E what does it actually do in terms of the robot? And would 1 dam, 1 acc do instead of 2 Hami-Os till I get run hamidon a few times?
  22. OK, I see. Not so good at franken slotting, so any suggestions?

And thanks, I got confused, silly me >.>
  23. Oh? For what reason, please?
  24. So, I'm a Robotic/Time manipulation Mastermind and I've just noticed how cheap the pet purples are and I am looking at buying the set. And while I'm asking one question, I might ask a few more so...

    1) Is it worth getting the MM Purple set?
    2) Which pet should I slot it for?
    3) Is it worth losing 1 slot in the protector bot for the 7.5% global recharge aswell as having one in far sight and manuvers.
    4) For the other two bot sets, any enhancements you suggest?
    5) I'm also going to incarnate and wondering which lore pet I should take. My main has a T4 Core Cim which does nice damage, but I'm wondering if any of them give nice debuffs which work well with an MM.

    Thank you! ^^
