  1. I would get darkest night very early one and forgo tar patch for later. Tar patch at low levels will not be up every fight.

also I would skip moonbeam (if that is the sniper attack) and take dark blast.
  2. I got the channel invite as well. I accepted. Virtue United never impressed me, and it seem like more of a waste of space. These days though it seems like the cool thing to do is have your own channel.

I will keep Virtue Forever United on my tab for now to see if it is worthwhile.
  3. Here is a round three of the build that keeps the soft caps and aid self.

With SR, you can cap cheap. No need for Oblits, etc.

Here's a /SR build that I have. She's a BS/SR and this is a levelling build, if I choose to follow it. It's cheapo cheapo and capped.

I couldn't use mids on your build, Bunny. The site it redirects through for the link is blocked at my work.

Edited to add...I'm not really happy with the build I posted. I need to steal slots from one power to put them in another and change the order, etc.
The build I put up with DA and heal was to provide multiple layers or survival not just resting at 45%. Even soft capped you can get hit. Having not played my SR in ages against mobs that can debuff def, I hedged that having DA slow a cascading defensse failure would help.

I didn't say there were no uses. There are no uses where it is nessecary. I would say that the biggest use of black hole and dimension shift rests with the ability to skip a power in your primary/secondary and go for an ancillary power without hurting your overal build.
  9. The problem with Black hole/Dimension is its usefullness later in the game is remote. Personally I think they are powers they should leave as is in their useless form and be done with it. There are better things to focus on.
  10. I'll have take a look at it later today. MIDs is not available to me at the moment. I am curious to see the view totals screens for your defensive numbers.
  11. Here is another build that uses a few more of the SR inherents as well as providing some nice stealthy capabilities.

I do agree with Dechs, player skill is in addition to the AT and build.

It doesn't surprise me that there would be similarities as there are only so many ways you can add defense and limited slotting to do so.

I read through that post, the only comment I noticed that discussed defense debuff had to do with popping inspriations and backing off. Other than that there really isn't any significant alternative outside of other teammate buffs or manuvering line of sight.

Less Defense (certainly), but sufficient to soft-cap melee/lethal easily double-stacking Parry.

I also advocate paying careful attention to endurance reduction and management in builds for Dark-Armor, as they tend to tend to be toggle-heavy. The sample build above is geared toward that in many of the power selections. Other than the Procs in the build, it also is moderately priced overall... And the extra endurance and recovery in the build allows for pretty non-stop attack-attack-attack with no down-time. A plus for me with the frenetic Scrapper tendencies I slip into from time to time.

Note that my preference is also to slot for higher accuracy, including more global accuracy and the +6% to-hit unique Kismet IO. Fighting +4's and high-defense targets like Rikti drones makes the extra come in handy.

As far as attacks go, the AoE attacks always get slotting priority for me. The single-target is strong for Broadsword, but Death Shroud, Whirling Sword, and Slice are nasty in big crowds. I typically spend most my time in big teams, usually out ahead of the team, so AoE attacks tend to deal the most aggregate damage in that environment.

I'll eat a little crow on this one and say that I can see the merits of your build and it's approach. I reacted strongly because it is a vastly different approach than the one that suits my playstyle. My apologies for my rash leap to assess and a tip of the hat to your reasonable and cordial response.

Have fun and best of luck.
It is all good. I could tell you had played dark armor before and weren't just spewing something off the cuff. I may have to look at a 2nd build for a hobby and bringing more aoe to the table would warrent it.

    Seriously, a Scrapper's priorities are:
a.) flip out and kill everything in the nearby area
b.) survive in that threat-rich crucible of personal combat
c.) immediately hare off to find something else to pummel

Your build woefully underslots and underenhances the attacks. That's bad.

Additionally, all that extra extra defense you are trying to squeeze in will do very little for you in Cimerora or other areas with opponents that debuff Defense. The build has 0% Defense Debuff resistance. In Cimerora that defense will melt and drain away like ice chips in the sun. Furthermore, you are way underenhancing your Resistances to squeeze in that Defense is sacrificing survivability.

Just overall, it's trying too hard to go in a direction that is not its strong suit. Dark Armor's real strength is in its layered mitigation. Resistance + Defense + active mitgation (OG/CoF) + massive PbAoE self heal = great survivability.

YMMV, but I would not consider that build "best of the best" by any stretch of the imagination. Not trying to be harsh, just frank and honest with my opinion. Feel free to disagree if you wish, but I thought another point of view was needed.

    Best of luck.
Your critque is what it is. Based upon actual performance, I have no problems in Cimerora. As an aside, have you actually tried to see how much resist you can eek out of DA in comparision to increase of DEF? If memory serves correctly, the resist are no more than 5% higher versus roughy 20% less defense if you switch around a DA build. I am always interested in looking at builds. It would be interesting to see if you have one that performs in a layered fashion that focuses more on resists.

This was done without preplanning, I haven't checked to see if there were any worthwhile tweaks, but it should give you the idea.

The answers everyone else has been giving [level 50 players beating things up] is the core of the money. (It turned out when I9 went live I knew two billionaires. There was nothing much to spend inf on in the first couple years of the game, so it just built up.) But that's not the entire answer. You have to spend inf ten times to get rid of it. An example might make this clear.

Let's say I punch a lot of badguys in the face and make 1,000,000 inf (probably half cash and half from selling level 50 generic recipes.)

I buy something from Appalling-Man for a million. 100K goes to Wentworths. Appalling-man has 900K.

Appalling-man buys something from B0mbsh3ll for 900K, 90K to wentworths and 810 goes to B0mbsh3ll.

B0mbsh3ll buys from Canadian Rage for 810K , Canadian Rage gets 729K and Wents gets the rest.
Canadian Rage buys an SO for 29 K to make my life easier and spends 700K buying from Dbagge, who gets 630K.

Dbagge buys from Eagle-Scout who gets 567K.
Eagle-Scout buys from Firekinsylvania for 510K.
Firekinsylvania buys a jetpack for 10K and has 500K left to spend on the market.

    We've still got half the original money left and we've spent 1M+ 900K + 810K + 700K + 630K + 567K + 510K on the market, for a total of about 5.1 million.

If we run the half million through 7 transactions we get about 2.5 million to get to a quarter million, then 1.25 million to get to 125K... it end up that "the market" buys just about 10 million inf of stuff with a million inf of new actual money.

And that's why stuff costs more than it did a year ago.
The market doesn't buy crap. The market skims the influence off the top and reduces the amount things cost. If there was no fee to list an item for sale, you know people would be gouging for higher amounts.
  20. I wonder if it is related to the two other new features I-17 brought with it.

AI stutter and Lag in ITF. (Yes I know the ITF lag is actually back from vacation and not really new.)

Almost as annoying is the lack of dev comments on the topic.
  21. Transhade

    Word of Caution

/ponders how many blacklists he is on.....
  22. Is the survey only for roleplayers because the first question is whether you are a roleplayer? If it is not, you may have skewed your survey just by the title.

If it is not limited to roleplayers here are my answers.

    1. No
    2. No
    3. No
  23. Transhade

    Change up !!!

It is quite obvious a troll from another empathy set hater. He or she is obviously lashing out because an empathy defender got more praise then they did. This injustice naturally can only be rectified by the most emo post he or she could come up with to draw hatred toward the empathy set in the one section of the forums they believe people will rise up and join them bashing the empathy set.

How do I make the big bucks?

I know there is the buy common IO's and sell them, but theres no way ur making 100 mil doing that.
If you enjoy playing and not wanting to farm just run missions and TFs that give merits. Once you hit 50 the Inf comes in alot faster. 40+ influence will pick up.
