to enable physx in cox you actually need a physx card

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would go against the entire idea of CUDA. It's all about driver libraries.
  2. I still don't get it though. If I was an evil alien being bent on world domination I wouldn't be negotiating while spending my resources on bombing small city districts here and there.

That just seems like tossing ones power base ever so surely away. No wonder that ambassidor is still in the lobby :P

    Vet award

Yup, unlike the Veteran reward Sony Online Entertainment has you only get access to the rewards once you have had a payed for account for certain amounts of time.
  4. Ello Ello.

Having just turned threat level 40 with my Master Mind I ventured into Grandville to see what the fuzz on the Epic patrons was about.

And lo and behold. There was a Rikti Ambassador standing right in the middle of everything.

Now, I haven't done any missions for him yet, and I suppose I should.

But having done the first arch for the Vanguard I find myself somewhat confused.

What are the Rikti doing less than 200ft from Lord Recluse? I must be getting my lore mixed up

How can an enemy of mankind in general that even still attacks relentlessly get in the good graces of Lord Recluse?

I'm not sure why game studioes don't do much payed for content if it helps move the game forward.

Freebies are all nice and fine, but patience isn't my strong side

    [/ QUOTE ]

Freebies can be done in bits and pieces, so they can essentially be released faster.

If you're having to pay real money for an expansion, you generally expect it to contain a lot of content and be well tested and bug free. Hence paid expansions take huge amounts of development time and come out at a slow rate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, that depends largely on the eye of the beholder. CoX has been going on how many years now? Roughly Five right?

With CoV being the only sort of "expansion" to get, and that was also being marketed as a stand alone game.

Meanwhile, EverQuest 2 is on it's 4th expansion payed for expansion.

Now I realize that Cryptic may not have had a developer powerhouse backing them up, but hopefully a similar approach can be taken in Champions Online, and the other titles they are working on. Both to keep a steady subscriber base, but also to get content released faster.
  6. And here I was thinking Champions Online was destined to be CoX2.

In any case, the faster they can release more content the better I'm not sure why game studioes don't do much payed for content if it helps move the game forward.

Freebies are all nice and fine, but patience isn't my strong side

OK, I've tried the 177.66 beta drivers, and THESE work perfectly. PhysX is enabled, and CoX is pulling 65fps.

Sounds nifty, I'll give it a go as I'm running Vista 64bit also on a 8800GTS 640mb card.
  8. Why settle for one of the older Raptor drives? Get a VelociRaptor instead.

If you need a storage drive I can recommend the Samsung 1TB drive. It's quite fast for such a large drive (As in, it beats a RaptorX)
  9. /cc 2 works on it's own, I'll try Max's suggestion.
  10. Aye, I've checked the number and I do want slot number 3 to be the costume that gets put on.
  11. Ello Ello.

I've been trying to make a macro that does the following.

Change my costume and activate a power (fly in this case)

    I've tried the following : /macro fly "costume_change 2 $$ powexec_name fly"

It will activate Fly fine, and toggle it if I press it again, but it refused to change the costume. Any ideas as to why?
  12. It's about human perception. Most people that bash Vista do so because they only heard negativ things about it

As with everything, it's down to driver quality really. [censored] poor drivers made the Vista release fuzzy. The OS in itself is great.
  13. 0xED as stop code means two things.

1: You could be lucky, and your file system is repairable using chkdsk /r

2: You could be not so lucky, and the disk is dead.
  14. Sounds like a plan! When is this option going to go live? (If it hasn't already?)

I'm a ways off from a veteran respec, and I can't seem to find the time to do a respec trial, and with my highest level villan being level 35 currently I very much doubt I'll be able to get hold of the millions of infamy required for the crafted respec.

But my charcter suffers now from my poor foresight when choosing powers and I can't really do anything about it other than level and hope it works out in the end since I lack the time for the full run, and there's still a few months till a veteran reward lets me do it.

So I'd drop 6 quid in a heartbeat, I did just to get the Good vs Evil costume parts (Thanks for offering it to existing customers btw!)
  15. Many thanks! Gives me something to aim for I see
  16. Running around inside a Counsel base I was able to get some costume part from one of them (It was an assault weapon I believe).

Now of course this brings the questions . Are there any more such nifty things, and how are they gotten?

Anyone know of any websites that displays what is gotten where?
  17. I've never ever had a problem with an asus piece of hardware.
  18. Try the 177.35 Red_Radiance, that let me use the Windows Key on the keyboard to get back into windows. Prior to that I had to power my PC down.
  19. I get random crashes as well running on Vista Ultimate 64bit.

But it's a display driver issues for me, Vista tells me the graphics driver has stopped working and it has restarted it. It just kills the game in the process.

It only happens in CoX though, which makes it annoying.

    Specs are :

    QX9650 Quad core @ 3ghz
    4GB ram
    Vista Ultimate 64bit
    8800 GTS 640mb version.

Using driver version 177.35. Atleast now it lets me use the Windows key to get back to windows, using the 175.xx version ment I had to power my computer off totally to resume operation.
  20. Hello there! I'm having some issues with making macros

Ideally I'd like to be able to target a minion of mine, say his specific pet name and lastly use the Equip Mercenary power.

I've been able to do a /macro upg "local text %target $$ powexec_name Equip Mercenary". And while that works, it doesn't call out the pets name only his "class".

Is it possible to do what I'm trying to accomplish?

Also, is it possible to make the macro perform a power that requires a target? Such as summoning minions or using a targeted Area attack while saying/emoting something?
