Anybody got any good hints for a relatively cheap option to play the game on? I only really use the pc now for this game/football manager and msn so wouldnt need a huge amount.
Currently on ebay iv seen one with this specs, would the game run good on it or not?

Processor Intel Quad Q6600

Memory 4GB DDR2
Hard Drive 500GB SATA

Optical Drive 20 x Lightscribe DVDRW
Motherboard Asrock 4CORE Full HD
Case Black Chant Case
Graphics ATI Radeon X1250 FULL HD

Sound 7.1 CH Windows® Vista™ Premium Level HD Audio (ALC888 Audio Codec)

OR

Would THIS ONE be any better?

Any help GREATLY appreciated because i want to be able to play the game again properly and team like i used too.

4GB RAM...HD GFX Card...*drools uncontrollably*...the game would be bliss paradise with those specs...

In other words, yes.

(when I say bliss paradise I mean it, I bet you'd run on full graphics quality without any lag)

I bet the other one would be just as good. Depends on what's cheaper.

good job you did, both were awful specs for desktops.

Ignore the quad core guff, there are about 1 game (not Co*) and 4 or 5 programs that can use them.

4 gb ram is good, but the video cards were awful and just tacked on.

GFX: accept nothing less than the Nvidia 8800 gt or the ATi 4850.

Processor: optimal would be a 2.6 ghz or better Core 2 Duo.

Mobo should support PCI-E 2 as the best cards are all natively PCI-E 2

other stuff is just trimmings.

The PC spec is not so bad but alot of the stuff is useless guff. The graphics card on the second one for example. 1GB of memory on a card that slow will never be used. Cheap trick to make out the card is better than it actually is.

From Ebuyer:

ASUS P5GC-VM i945GC Socket 775 onboard
Zotac 8800GT 512MB DDR3
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2220 2.4GHz (800MHz) Socket 775
Antec Sonata III Piano Black Quiet Mid Tower Case - With 500W EarthWatts PSU
OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400
Samsung HD502IJ SpinPoint F1 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache - OEM Cart total inc vat:£330.38

For a far better machine to boot! No OS (not included in yourmachine listed either), no KB, mouse, speakers or monitor as well.

*Forgot to add a DVD-RW, another £15 on the total! Sorry!

Yep Miss_Chief has it almost right
that motherboard is a 945 chip set which is pritty pants. (cannot even run the memory at it's stock 800mhz speed)
up the price by £30 (£60-70) and get a decent p35 chipset motherboard
eg
MSI P35 Neo2-FR
or
ASUS P5KC AiLifestyle
or
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3

Graphics card is a bit dependent on screen resolution, for a 17"-19" a 9600gt or 3850 512mb will be fine graphics wise, heck I'm running on an old 7900gs with some pritty high settings
for 20-22" a 8800gt 512mb or 3870 or better will be fine for these games.
The key is often to shop around, and when buying off ebay always check the retail prices, far too often I see things going for far too much on ebay, esp as new tech comes out the stuff the was top end drops in price.

One thing to remember is that we had a bit of an oddity with graphics cards, when the 8series geforce and 2000series ati came out they were not much better than the 7/x1000 series they replaced.
(please note that both the 8800gt and 8800gts 512mb were actually based on a new chip and don't really belong in the 8 series)

>_< why did you add asus?
i had 4x asus junk and they crash and have problems like weed, not a good choice.

except for asus, any good tested mainboard is good.
but for a real gamer mainboard, it's better to take a DFI one.

it's pricy, but you get more then you pay for

He probably added Asus because they make the best motherboards on the planet.
