Hmmmm I had never seen Rose Spark or Spark Blade before... I think they must be introduced properly into the game (along with more from W.I.S.D.O.M)!!!
Espcially if it means we can get a Katana/Pistol assault set out of it

I have an Ill/Sonic in the high 30s I only keep around for RP, I've essentially given up running missions with her. Powerful, sure. Solos like a champ. Incredibly boring to play, though. Basic tactic is Superior Invisibility up to spawn, drop Confuse/Spectral Terror, drop Phantom Army, toggle Disruption Field on a decoy, go fix a cup of coffee, come back to computer, move to next spawn, begin reading book, glance up to see if the spawn's dead yet, refresh PA/Disruption Field as necessary, complete mission, rinse, lather, repeat.

Now there's a nifty idea for a Veteran Reward, and one folks might actually find useful. (Far more useful, to me personally, than half off the cost of costume changes that are already free via costume change tokens.) I'm already at max on both of my preferred servers.

Bit late in on this thread but I think one combo I have played and have never seen anyone mention is Illusion/Force Field!
On the plus side for this combo it is a great support toon. You can help manage aggro with Phantom Army and Spectral Terror. You can ghost mission with ease because of Superior Invisibility and Person Forcefield (take that Rikti Drones!). You can buff the teams Defence to great heights with your force fields.
On the negative side it can be a bit boring to play. I took some extra attacks from the APPs just so had something to do between summonings and buffs! It also doesn't solo all that great because you are reliant on PA and beyond hasten and set bonuses you can't boost the recharge of it.
An alternative to Illusion/Forcefield could be an Illusion/Sonic. I've just retconned my Ill/FF into one (thank you character transfers!) with the attempt that the secondary will be a bit more active because of the debuffs.
I also see in the thread that Mind/Trick Arrow has been mentioned a lot. I've played this toon to 50 as well and it is great fun. Once you have Mass Hypnosis and Oil Slick Arrow you can set up a patch of death before the enemies knew what hit them!
Ive also got a Ice/Cold and Fire/Thermal which I have rolled because they are thematic but I don't see them talked about that much. -

You do realise that EU is made up of about 27 different countries each with their own language (English being one of them) so there isn't a 'European Language'. That was only availabe for a short time when they first introduced the EU version of the game and people were allowed to transfer their accounts over. Now it is unavailable as you are unable to transfer a NA account to an EU one. You have to start from scratch.Quote:4. How would I get the Passport badge, (if it still exsist?)
Depends on who you listen to and your reasons for swapping. The EU commonity isn't huge when compared to the larger NA servers but apparently is more comparable to the other servers in the NA (unsure of exact numbers, just going by what I saw a redname write once). I enjoy playing the EU servers, I generally don't have trouble finding teams when I want them, I have friends I enjoy playing with and the peak hours suit my play times.Quote:5. If you were coming over from an NA account then you will be starting from scratch and have access to overall less character slots than the NA. However if your play times don't match the peak times in the NA then it may be worth it.
The decision is up to you.
Edit - in fact you only need to change one file name to access the EU servers (once you have an account of course!).
* Copy your City of Heroes folder to somewhere new (just to be on the safe side)
* Find the file called cohupdater.exe (it may just be called cohupdater on some operator systems)
* Rename this cohupdater.eu.exe (or cohupdater.eu)
* Run the file
* If it says install the game then just choose yes
And you're done! Just create a shortcut for the cohupdater.eu file on your desktop for convenience. -

My money is on some sort of mutant related pack as well
Although from the OP's list there is the missing "Complete Collection Item Pack" which comes with Going Rogue -
Have had a nice time so far this DXP weekend. Nothing particularly amazing but managed to get some nice levels:
* Ice/Stone Tank - managed to get him from 36-39 so far and he will be running a TF later on so will hopefully get another level or two.
* Rad/Dark Defender - managed to get him from 24-28 after he has been sat around for a while
* Traps/DP Defender - managed to get him from 8-19 and still finding DPs rediculously flash and fun
* Broadsword/Shield Scrapper - managed to get him a couple of levels (13-15) after doing Atta's Hollows mission solo
* Dark/Fire Brute - managed to get him a couple of levels (24-26) after a quick play session
* Necro/Thermal MM - this toon has been sat around for quite a while so leveled him from 9-16 when duoing with an SG friend.
Im happy with what Ive accomplished and had some fun along the way

Like what? Obliteration, Mako's, Touch of Death, Scirocco's, and Eradication all offer the same damage and proc rate. They also cost more and are unable to be socketed across the board. Perfect Zinger is a Taunt set, so it can go into every single skill that Claws has-- whether it's melee, ranged, PBAoE, TAoE or Taunt. That's quite useful, and it does this at a fraction of the cost.
If you are going for set bonuses, such as the positional defence bonus you get from 6 slotting some sets, then it may not as high as a priority. -

Not sure if this is bug or I haven't got an option switched on by when slotting sets the box that used to pop up showing the combos (ie Acc/Dam, Dam/End etc) and the set bonuses don't seem to show up anymore.

I would agree with you that I don't mind if they use bullets either. Since crossbow bolts are much smaller than a Bow's arrow.
But if they did it they would have to make it for both Dual Pistol, small crossbows and Assault Rifle with heavy crossbow. -

I've rarely seen people kicked. What I see more often are people making up excuses to get off of teams that aren't working.
I've never been kicked or have kicked someone due to 'odd' build choices. I think the worst I have done is ask a Storm toon or two to watch their use of Hurricane when they have it on perma and stay in melee just to scatter mobs rather than using it to protect ranged squishy toons to to herd baddies into a corner.
I think I may have come close to being kicked last night though. I was on a team with my new Traps/DP 'fender when I got a tell asking 'Want to join our team we need a healer'. I replied saying I was already on one but wonder if I would have got booted when they found out the only healing I would be doing is with an unslotted Triage Beacon! -

I did that last night, backed up my original updater and placed this new one there. I ran it a couple of times last night and again this morning and its been working. I guess only time will tell if it will continue to work! Fingers Crossed

Despite a few whingey posts Ive made rencently I will say CoX as whole makes me happy.
I love how the character creator and powersets spark my imagination
I love how it can be as simplistic or as complicated as you like
I love the stories
I love the friends I have made while playing
I love how I can play for hours on end by not feel like Ive wasted time
I love how the devs try to please the community with continual commitment to expanding the game
These things make happy

Ok - ive fixed it twice and its broken AGAIN!
It is starting to get rediculous
Again its looking for the US updater file not the .eu one! Please can they fix this or roll back to the old updater until they have a proper fix for this
Edit - the fix I use is:
* Go to the cohupdater.eu file
* Rename it cohupdater
* Run the file
* When it asks to install the US version, select no and choose a random place
* As soon as it starts to install cancel it (you may have some files to delete in the random location you chose)
* Go back to the cohupdater file
* Rename it back to cohupdater.eu
Now when you run it, it should work. However this is a temporary fix - I have had to do this fix THREE times now

I can echo what has been said - rolled my new Traps/DP and went into the Outbreak, pretty much automatically got a team once I hit Atlas, all of us DP toons. I had a blast (*drum roll*)
Its good to see people getting excited about the game again and everyone having a good time with their hyperactive DP toons!
