One of the most cinematically awesome happenings I can think of would be standing on the ledge of a tall building, and using jump kick to knock off an enemy, which the resulting fall kills.
I love it when you are on one of the outside maps hit somebody with a knockback power and they get stuck on the War Wall, dangling by there head or something
  2. Im not a vet Bot/Traps player but I do love my lvl 50 one

    A few notes from me:

    * I didn't take Aid Other until quite late in my build as I didn't need it then. However if you up your difficulty then you might find you are using it more.

    * Both Assault and Maneuvers are great on a Bots/Traps for the +Dmg and +Def (which stacks nicely with FFG/Protector Bots). Running those may make you want to reconsider Stamina (although that will become an inherent with I19!)

    * You could drop Air Superiority and Hover and slot it with an End reduction and possibly defence. Again this will boost your Defence stacking with Maneuvers, FFG and Protector Bots. Again it may mean you might have to take Stamina.
  3. For my Rad/Dark defender I am going to pick up an extra attack (probably Gloom), Assault and something else (not sure yet).

My Kin/Arch will probably pick up an extra attack but otherwise I don't have a clue. Possibly the medicine pool so I have something to heal with when there are no baddies around. I have fitness on him (unslotted though) mainly because I am running the the Leadership toggles, plus the APP shield, so he can get through endurance quickly and allows breathing space in case Transference misses.

My Dark/Ice will be picking up an extra attack or two in early levels (damn Dark and all its great powers early on!) plus probably Leadership.

My Storm/Dark Im not sure about, will probably grab the Leadership pool as that is the only thing I can think of.

I have a low level Traps/Sonic defender which will probably pick up the Leadership pool earlier.

However, if I want the Villain Patron Pools I have to go full Villain, do any Patron mission chain, then all Patron Power Pools are unlocked for that character (regardless of future alignment)?

    All correct?
In a nut shell - yes!

In short, vet rewards are about making life easier for veterans (filling out the attack chain early, getting travel powers ahead of time, and being able to make a "post-SOs" respec without going through a trial), not about improving high-end performance. Extra slots would have enormous impacts on optimised builds, and would be a terrible vet reward.
I have to agree with Mack on this one - I think slots as a Vet reward wouldn't work.

And, personally, Im not to worried about needing extra slots for the three extra powers that will now have available. I was looking at the build for my Fire/Fire tank and because it is such a tight build I have actually slotted Boxing as an attack because otherwise I only have the one quick recharging attack to use while my harder hitters are charging. With the extra powers now I take Boxing to I can get Tough, not slot it, and still be able to take a proper attack which I can slot.

A collective gasp from the crew is shared when, inside the closet, they see Castle's entire powers team and two system admins huddled in the corner. They are bound by frayed cat.5e network cable, blindfolded, and bared from the door by a series of mops and brooms. Posi and War Witch along with a few others rush past Castle, pushing him out of the way, and free the captured employees. As soon as they are free, they burst out and make a run for it. Two of them rush to the restrooms, the rest make a bee line for the exit. BackAlleyBrawler manages to catch one of them and implore him to explain what happened.
I loved it all but this was my fav bit!
  7. Just reading the original post about the Inherent Fitness Rangle posted and it made me think of another change to my tankers which is when I actually take my agro aura.

If the health/stamina inherents are available at lvl 2 (if I understood the post Castle made correctly) then I won't feel the need to delay taking my agro aura (e.g. Blazing Aura) until either just before or after Stamina at 20 because it is such an endurance hog!
  8. Well I think the main thing this will do for me is make the 1-26 journey on tanks a lot more fun for a couple of reasons:
    * Not running out of Endurance every other fight
    * Being able to pick up an extra attack before you hit 20-26 while getting Stamina/Travel/Shields/Taunt in place

Also for me it will help me fit in the Fighting pool without having to either drop either Build Up, an attack or travel power. It will also be able

I know for my Fire/Fire/Pyre tank it will allow me to put Hasten back and bring RotP back to when I originally chose it before I respec'd following the Firey Aura buff. I think I will also put in Build Up.

My Electric/Mace tank will be able to pick up Hasten and an actual travel power (I skipped it using Ninja Run etc).

My Inv/SS tank has a very tight build because he is a bit of a concept build so I will be able to move things around being able to pick have the Travel Power I want without having drop an attack.

Those are the three that I can think of off the top of my head. I just know it will make my Tank builds less tight but I will only be adding powers that don't need much slotting (e.g. Hasten, travel or Build Up).
  9. Well I will finally be able to take Recall Friend and 02 Boost on my Grav/Storm without having to drop anything which makes me happy

  11. OK - I am going to finalise the details for the first Tanker Tuesday:

    TANKER TUESDAY EU

The first Tanker Tuesday EU will be on the following dates:

    Defiant - Tuesday 21st September

    Union - Tuesday 28th September

The meeting place will be by Blue Steel in Kings Row at 8.15pm UK time, 9.15pm European time

For the first meeting I am proposing one of the low level Task Forces, either:
    * Positron part 1 (levels 10-15)
    * Positron part 2 (levels 11-16)
    * Synapse (levels 15-20)
    * Sister Psyche (levels 20-25) - which I believe is now fixed

As all level ranges are welcome to the event this isn't set in stone but we will go by numbers and the level range of the toons.

Closer to the date I will ask the event to be advertised on the main server channels (thanks for the info on those!).

For this first event I will be there on my tanks Black Karhu (Fire/Fire on Defiant, Inv/Fire on Union).

If you have any questions/thoughts/suggestions either post them here, PM me or send me a tell in game (either @TiredAngel, @TiredAngel2).

That said, you might want it anyway to complete a set - but just for its effects, I can't see it.
Really does depend on the build - Ive just come up with a Inv/Fire build for a new tanker which actually loads of slots to spare.

Plus if you Frakenslot powers rather than going whole sets for bonuses you can usually have slots spare for Procs.
  13. Thanks for the info on Union chat channels

But isnt Positron slighty bit too low to see the actual effect of a tank? (at best you would be around 20ish, that is just in range of Stamina but still out of range of the 'core business' of most tanks).
I have been thinking about that. I was going to go with Positron or possibly a Synapse mainly because it would be more inclusive for people who would maybe have started new Tanks and lvl 10-15 is an achievable goal in the next couple of weeks even with very casual play.

I think the perfect TF would possibly be Sister P but from what I know that is still bugged as it spawns missions in Praetoria.

Plus from a personal note I don't have a high lvl tank on Union but really want to have this on both Defiant and Union. I am going to be lvling a Tank ready for the 28th so hopeefully he will be a decent level in time.

But we can always be flexible on the day and see what happens

If someone else wants to organise this go for it - personally I've never been able to get into Scrappers.

This is my first time organising an event like this for a whole server so I am bit nervous about it so I won't be organising a Scrapper team in the near future.

And thank you everyone for your feedback and interest in the event

Ive also put a couple of Procs in my Grav/Storm AoE immobilise for fun. One is the damage Trap of the Hunter and the other is the chance to hold Gravitational Anchor one. Those with Accuracy and Endurance Reduction turn that attack into something very spammable to!

    Ice and Why?

I did have a Ice/Stone tanker for a while that I got to quite a high lvl (44 I think) but at the time I didn't want to invest the time/Inf to soft cap him as other projects came along and after running an ITF and several missions involving the original Rad blasting Clockwork and having cascading defence failure every single mob I deleted him.

I retconned the character into a Willpower/Ice tank but I do miss my Ice Armour tank because of the sheer agro pulling power he had. I am thinking of rolling a new one with a different secondary and try it again.

I would love a tighter fitting Ice Armour look to but thankfully because of power customisation you can make the bulky armour less obvious now.
  17. I think this side switching thing is brilliant.

I did a Citadel TF the other day and it was made up of a team of 8 different ATs - a complete mixture of hero and villain ATs.

    It was great fun!

I've also done a Sister P TF with 3 Masterminds (I was one of them) and that was chaos but fun

There are some that are like that - like I said in my post I did a Vigilante mission where I blew up a lab with, from what I can tell, all the mobs still inside. If that isn't efficient-and-permanent I don't know what is!!

I think there are just a mixture of ones like I've encountered and ones that Jophiel has encountered.
  19. Thanks guys

And you sure we can't tempt you over to the dark sid... I mean EU side LSK??
  20. Glad to see there is a bit of interest in this

In terms of days I was thinking of doing Defiant on the 3rd Tuesday of the month and Union on the 4th Tuesday of the month. So this would be mean that Defiant would be on the 21st September and Union on the 28th September this month.

Time wise I was thinking of 8.15pm BST/9.15pm CEST - which falls in time with the peek hours.

As I said I am a bit of a stranger to Union so could some recommend which chat channel would be best to advertise this on - I did a search for Union in the chat channel thing it came up with about 3 and Im not sure which is the most active one/frequently used.

I was planning on advertising it on Defiant Events and possibly the Europe United chat channels (if they will let me!).

My initial thoughts for a first event would be to run either Positron part 1 and/or 2 TF or a Synapse TF. I was thinking these as they would allow people to use both existing higher level tanks as well newer tanks so would be a bit more inclusive for a first time around

    Any feedback on this???
  21. Hello EU!

I have been thinking for a while about starting up a Tanker Tuesday on the EU servers and wanted to find out who would be interested in a regular event like this.

For those that don't know Tanker Tuesdays are an all Tanker AT event that happens on a Tuesday (different servers for different Tuesdays) where those that love tanking, want to give it a try can get together to run missions, TFs etc and get advice on builds, tactics and all things Tank related.

    My initial thoughts have been:
    * The event would be one Tuesday a month on Defiant and one Tuesday a month on Union.
    * All level of tanks would be welcome.
    * There would be a loose structure of what would be done (ie a TF) but this would be flexible depending on levels and if someone has something they particular want to do (e.g. mission arc).
    * Allowing those who have less experience with Tanks get a oppurtunity to ask questions and learn through experience.

    So my initial questions are:
    * Is anyone actually interested in this?
    * Would anyone want to help me organise this - maybe one or two people for each server (particularly Union where I am bit of stranger)

So let me know your thoughts, questions and feedback!!
  22. Heya tankers and tankettes

I am thinking of trying expanding the Tanker Tuesday Tour to the Defiant and Union servers in the EU. I will posting more about it on the European Lounge section but thought I would do a quick post here just to check if any of the Tanker Tuesday vets have any objections to me using the name

Edit - the thread on Tanker Tuesday EU in the European lounge can be found here:

  23. Mind Control/Trick Arrow is a fun combo that I haven't seen about much

Mass Hypnosis allows you to then set up your burning Oil Slick without any agro

    - Frostfire is having a meeting with some bad guys. Either arrest them all (hero) or go to Frostfire's warehouse and destroy his trophies so all the other villains laugh at him (vigilante).

    Seriously?

There's others but I haven't been keeping notes and don't want to get them wrong. An example of a bright spot was Scrapyarders ready to start a potentially violent protest. I could try diplomacy with the leaders or just punch them all in the face until there were no faces left to punch. At least both options met the goal of stopping the problem.
Ive not done those ones but I have done a couple of Vigilante missions where Ive gone in beaten a load of people up (don't know if I killed them at that point or just left them unconscious) and the left blowing the place sky high! I would have thought that the Punisher would have been proud!
