Quote:But it's all a Nemesis plot anyways. ._.
Asserting yourself over Nemesis is one of the basic things Heroes need to do :P -
The top of the pillar looks just fine, if you ask me. Although it does look like it's standing upright, which is interesting considering the rest of Ouroboros is tilted in the water. Though, that in itself isn't that strange, since it does float.

Quote:Which they stole, and hid in their base, and reattuned with magic, and assert themselves over Ouroboros. T_T
...the Midnighter's Club if they had too, it does have one of those pillars. -
From a gameplay standpoint, the zone Ouroboros would probably be left unaffected. The devs have never really taken a zone away, right? Since there's no other way to reach the flashback system without a supergroup base, taking it away would have no positive yield.
And story-wise, the Ouroboros we teleport to may be in a time before it was attacked. It's only logical, right? If you have the resources, use 'em, including using yourself from the past. -
It seems presumable already that the Ouroboros zone itself won't be touched. From a gameplay standpoint, have they ever really taken resources or zones unnecessarily?
But it's still pretty scary from a gameplay standpoint; "what could do this?"
And as for the Coming Storm, it sounds like if this is it, then the dev team probably took a large swing away from their original ideas on it. I still don't buy it, though. It's like getting a letter saying "you will trip one day." Chances are, you will trip, but that doesn't mean the letter-writer made me trip only because he said it. -
I think Illusion Control can and should be ported over to Dominators.
I also believe that minor tweaks to the set are in order.
Now that I got that out of the way:
One power that I think they could certainly drop would be Group Invisibility. Dominators aren't really team-buffers, so it could make room for another control-power which would benefit from Domination.
Also, while Illusions may also be viable as a base for a Mastermind set, I do not think that means Dominators should never receive it as well. -
It may not be anything important, but note that the entrance, which used to be an Ouroboros insignia, is now a shard of the Pillar of Ice and Flame.
EDIT: And if that is Statesman staring into what used to be the pool of water, then here's another interesting yet minor detail: Emperor Cole is, then, the only known Statesman-counterpart not present in that picture. -
I think they only put it in the temporary powers category for certain organizational purposes, just like they did with the origin-based power (which used to be a temporary power, but is now permanent), as it is easier to control it.
EDIT: Baka, you are a genius. (And yet that sentence is a contradiction!)
Also, aside from Brawl, Rest, and Sprint, other inherent powers only ever seem to be tied to veteran status or account upgrades. -

Quote:Actually the roots of plants hold soil together, preventing corrosion.
Trees also devastated the planet; they poisoned the oceans by breaking up rock with their roots and causing a massive flow of dissolved minerals into the ocean.
At least, if memory serves. ._. -
Quote:So far this is going to echo most comments already, but: the Trick Arrow set already has a look mimicking that of Devices, and as such a few number-tweaks would probably put it in-line with that set. Although I also agree maybe one or two melee attacks might work, since Devices gets quite a bit of damage from its traps (whereas Trick Arrow only really has an ignited Oil Slick Arrow).
Until we can get a link to the information in question, I'm open to hearing feedback/criticism on the sets I've suggested. I would love to get a think tank going on how to refine those into viable powersets. Not sure if I said this already, but I'm all for the archery set that has been tossed around in this topic already.
Quote:Isn't /Fire pretty much all damage? Wouldn't that now be two sets that have 'broken the mold'? I don't see any real harm in suggesting /martial arts or something similar. -
Hmm, so I'm not the only one who was thinking that. I saw the post and just assumed I'd been off the forums too long to know if that was said or not. :T

"...is shown to be visually bored and possibly sad from having to re-live the same two weeks over and over again for over 595 years worth of time. (This reaction from her is comparable to a screaming hair-tearing fit from anyone else.)"
Fairly certain what they mean is that her depressed expression throughout the episodes during that part of the series is like such. She was very quiet throughout all of the episodes, moreso than usual, hence it was unusual for her. -
I've watched Endless Eight and, if memory serves, nothing like that happens.
The only one doing the hair-pulling was me, because it was essentially the same episode eight times in a row. >_> -
Alrighty, how's this then? Based it on your model in the linked post.
1 Ground Snare (ranged immobilize)
"You stomp your foot into the ground, causing a large crack to travel between you and your foe, snaring their foot in the ground and immobilizing them for a short time."
2 Punch
3 Super Thrust
"You strike your foe with a powerful, but nonlethal, blow. The affected foe will be knocked a good distance away from you."
4 Hurl
5 Focused Rage (again, just a fancy rename of Build Up)
6 Hand Clap
7 Conserve Strength (just Conserve Power renamed)
8 Boost Range
9 Haymaker (change its stats to be the "oh snap" power) -
/signed on all three ideas for blaster secondaries
Also, how about one for super-strength?
1 Super Thrust (Power Thrust)
2 Punch
3 Focused Rage (fancy theme-name for Build Up)
4 Haymaker
5 Conserve Strength
6 Hand Clap
7 Threaten (single-target melee fear?)
8 Boost Range
9 Power Boost
Darn Leviathan Mastery had to take Knockout Blow. Would've been great for a tier 9. :/
Also, sorry if it's just an overwritten copy of Energy Manipulation... -
1. male
2. melee; front-line fighter and meat shield are the roles I find myself most empathetic with
3. blueside
4. The Praetorian War, A Hero's Hero, the Lady Grey Task Force, Statesman's Task Force
5. customizability of both powers and costumes
6. action-adventure, hack-and-slash
7. almost five years
8. 20+ alts; levels 1-20; only 5 are lv50
9. no I do not bother with softcaps, inventions, or much number crunching; anywhere from default difficulty to x8 people (large, easy mobs) -
Hamidon is also quite large.
EDIT: Curse you, cursedsorcerer! -
Being "inspired" by television and other media probably isn't a sign of altitis. But, if it is, then I've got it bad, too. :T
As a branch of that idea:
* you watch a new television series and the first thing you want to do after every episode is make a character with that show's theme
Here's looking at you, Sengoku Basara... o_o -
They can still shuffle. Retirement homes must be fortified against the semi-mobile menace!

Quote:I actually learned a couple of things from your paragraph! Which is saying something because I'm taking a college class with some photoshop and only learned maybe one shortcut with it. xD
Once you get all the shortcuts memorized, you can cut out a lot of menu time and focus on doing the art part of art instead of the tool-switching part and you don't lose the creative flow so easily.
I didn't want to overload the thread with just shortcuts, but...
G is gradient, V is pointer (dragging things), T is text.
And if we want to get REALLY technical...
Ctrl U brings up hue/saturation adjustment
Ctrl Shift U desaturates the layer (makes it all grayscale)
Ctrl I inverts the layer
Ctrl Shift I inverses the selection (what's selected becomes what ISN'T and vice-versa)
Ctrl D is deselect (when using the want, lasso, or marquee)
And uh... I think that's all I tend to use a lot of.
Oh, and as for tips in the actual doing-of, gradients, soft brushes and clipping masks are your friend. -
The Force Field powerset has mez protection built into Dispersion Bubble (which is a point-blank area ally defense buff), but has a sleep hole. So if sleep is your problem, see plan A with Indomitable Will.

I actually have to unsign this.
Personally, I like the OLD login screen, with the city buildings. The silhouette skyline we have now is actually fairly new, but I hate it. I would sacrifice the ability to change the brightness at the tailor for the old picture back.
CoHSplasher used to be able to replace the background with any picture you liked, but after they changed what texture files it references, Splasher can no longer do that. I strongly wish for that sort of customizability back.
Also, digging in the pigg files is against the EULA, m'kay?
EDIT: Didn't see this before I responded.
Quote:If this option was given as part of the change, I would sign this. If the "old ghetto" means the background they had since Issue 0, I would super-sign this! And how about a way to go back to the old, ghetto character select if you're picky?
Edited TLDR version: I want the old-old character select background for nostalgia reasons. -
Greetings, iBones. Photoshop CS5, eh? Sounds fancy.
I haven't drawn much for the forums, but as far as drawing on the computer itself goes, I prefer Photoshop to GIMP. Here's some keyboard shortcuts that may help the transition from GIMP easier: B is brush and E is eraser.
Don't forget to have fun with it! owo
