I should have addressed this more directly: I don't see area effect sets to have that much more marginal utility when that extra effect is wasted on minions and Lts.

Problem is, that Alkaloid only has a heal and a small, unenhanceable resistance whereas O2 Boosts crappy endurance cost and heal is at the cost of a perception buff and some mez protection. O2 Boost is the hands down better of the two.
If you're going to mention the minor bonus that O2 Boost gets you should also mention Alkaloid's minor bonus: toxic dmg resist. Neither are worth much, which is why I neglected to mention either of them.

Then you add in all the other sets. Because there are more sets than just dark.
No, I compared to Dark Miasma in particular. It's a darling of the forum, and someone had mentioned it in comparison earlier. I've no interest in comparing Poison to dissimilar sets.

lolwut? Did you mean "Unenhanced this drops the tohit on a target to 85%"?

Because that would be accurate. This power does, for more endurance, the exact same ammount of damage and tohit debuff as darkest night. It also has a -special debuff, but I don't think that makes up for the fact that it cost more endurance to keep on three enemies than dark's power cost to affect 16. And Weaken takes hella longer to do it.
You're right, this was my mistake. That extra 75% debuffs tohit buffs, not tohit directly. You're off base on the end cost, but that's relatively unimportant.

Poison's advantage here is that the debuffs last the full 20 or 30sec. Rad's awesome debuffness is toggled, so if your rad were to do something uncool like faceplant -- or even get herself mezzed -- the debuffs go away.

Though I can content myself with the new changes making Poison moar awesome. It does make me wonder if O2 Boost will get a similar upgrade as Alkaloid...
  2. I shouldn't be surprised when I read these posts, but I am. Poison is very good at what the set is supposed to do (neuter hard targets), even if that isn't conducive to farming at x8.

    Individually:
Alkaloid: Dromio mentioned this compares favorably to O2 Boost. It costs more, but activates faster. Thing is, you can enhance for end redux, but not for activation time. Alkaloid isn't the best, but it's good enough.
Envenom: This power is amazing. It does what Dark needs Twilight Grasp and Tar Patch to do, but it also debuffs defense. Out of the box you can keep it on two bosses at the same time. Its end cost is high, but it's a great debuff, and lasts half a minute. Fine by me.
Weaken: Seriously? Unenhanced this drops the tohit on a target by 85%! That's more than all the Dark powers combined, including the extras that the Dark Servant throws. As an added bonus, it reduces damage. You can't keep it on multiple foes until you reduce its recharge, but this power is very good at what it does.
Neurotoxic Breath: This is a good slow. Slows are pretty lame except for the rare times you're trying to keep stuff from running away. It's good at what it does, but what it does is generally lame. It might be worthwhile to up the hold duration since the recharge on this is so long, but I'm not sure that would offer any substantial value.
Elixir of Life: This is almost a clone of Mutation, and very close to Conduit of Pain. I can't see a reason to change it.
Antidote: A Clear Mind clone that works a lot like Enforced Morale, but where Enforced Morale gets that awesome recharge bonus, this only gives some resistance to toxic and cold. No changes necessary.
Paralytic Poison: This is a clone of Petrifying Gaze. Well, Paralytic Poison takes a third of a second longer to activate, but besides that they're identical. It's a subpar hold, but I can't see why you'd buff one and not the other.
Poison Trap: This power is... uh... this power is junk. Seriously, a trap power that drains some endurance and sleeps? The hold is terribly unreliable. This power could use something - anything! - to improve it. I'd like to see -resistance, slow, and/or damage over time from it, though then the power still suffers from being a trap. Perhaps even a fear, stun or confuse component.
Noxious Gas: The tier 9 is rather lackluster. I can see how it's supposed to work, but the general unpredictability of pets combined with the fact that there are so few tier 3 melee pets makes it come up short. Perhaps it would do better if it affected all your pets, or if the recharge was short enough to use it on several pets concurrently. I'm sure I've used it on Grave Knights in the past, and I'm sure I don't recall it being terribly effective.
I actually quite enjoy this set, despite the fact that the last two powers are next to useless. Those would benefit from some scrutiny, but the rest of the set is fine as is.
  3. I will, but I'll often run solo or advertise that I'm running a particular arc.

I pretty much do this. I like to have set bonuses available to me when I exemplar to 30 or so, as I tend to enjoy doing that.
  5. Looks like it's time to email bomb Support. Based on their reputation, I expect this to be sorted out in no time at all!

Also, why should I care if my account gets hacked? Is some beneficent hacker going to buy me the Mutant Pack?

While I understand and agree, I'm not sure how feasible this is. HeroStats works because all the info it collects is relevant to your interests so gets echoed to the client. An app like this would either need to 1) collect info resulting from user requests to the market or 2) query the market for that info.

In case 1 you only get access to stuff people look at [regularly], which would put some pretty gaping holes in your data. This may be swell, and the best way to do it, incomplete data notwithstanding.

In case 2 you bog the market down with automated requests and slow it to a crawl. I can see this being very unpopular both with players and devs.

    What were you expecting/planning on?
  8. Generally, yes. There are a lot of reasons people play blueside more, but the end result is less population on red. This isn't so big a deal these days as rogues & vigilantes have access to just about every zone. If you are desperate for a team and no one's around the Isles you can always check out Atlas or Talos.

Also, due to the attention the weekly Strike/Task Force has attracted, lots of people are gathering in whatever zone has the SF/TF of the week, as Dissolution pointed out. This week has seen a lot of people in the Rikti War Zone.

I wouldn't be surprised if he stone caged mobs in his earth quake.
This happens so much I expect it. When I'm teamed with someone with Earth Control who doesn't use Stone Cages or (better) doesn't have it, I immediately friend the person, right click->add note->4 stars, and tell the player we should go out drinking some time.

The defense/resists in Willpower are so paltry that Willpower brutes can't take much abuse without the regen from Rise to the Challenge. That's some fail right there.

This happens to most every set somewhere. See also, Fire Breath, Thunder Strike, Total Focus, Shadow Maul, Eviscerate et al.

This is win. It's worked fairly well in other games to get the player base to concentrate on a particular portion of content, and I'm sure it'll do the same here. Thanks for noticing, devs.

I'm pretty sure all the bots can take that proc. I shoved one in the AssBot and one in the regular minion bots.

EDIT: Duh, sometimes I don't actually read what other people write.

Certainly true, but there's no practical way for the devs to police off-market sales, nor would I expect them to do so. We even have a forum for trading stuff so I don't think anyone would even consider this.

Of course, I don't think price controls or shops for salvage are in order, but I see those suggested often enough. YMMV.
  20. Not to rain on the parades of DOOMsayers or anything, but inflation in this game has an upper limit with regard to the market. It can't continue forever without hitting the cap. Semantic, I know, but just wanted to throw that out there.

In light of what UberGuy said, I would expect the pace to increase as more end game content comes out. If the Alpha Slot is any example the devs don't want anyone to be able to 'buy' their way to incarnate abilities. This makes the inf gained while farming incarnate shards worth less to someone doing just that since a part of his power progression (incarnate abilities) are tied solely to luck and time spent playing; the market can't be used as a shortcut. e.g. I can't use my vast ebils to buy moar stuff for my casual warshade so I may as well casually stack 2billion inf bids for purples for my casual widow. That would tend to casually drive prices up for high end stuff.

Of course price inflation is pretty sweet from a seller's perspective. If you don't think you're ebil enough you could always kill some mid-level Tsoo & Circle, then sell the resulting alchemical silver for a bundle. I hear Clave_Dark_5 is paying well.
