  1. New powerset: Rock Blast

Including a fully customisable Guitar weapon, and such powers as:

SWEET RIFF - An awesome guitar attack that causes a crack to move across the ground and knockdown an enemy for moderate damage.

BLOW THEM AWAY! - An cone attack that causes everybody caught in it to be violently thrown back by your guitar solo.

KICK IT! - Similar to footstomp, only it creates a fault-line in the earth, shoots fire from the cracks, and causes demons on motorbikes to fly from the pits and attack your enemy. Knockdown in a burst and damage to a single targeted enemy. Probably a high-tier attack.

    And many, many more!
  2. This is officially the best thing and you should feel good for making it.
  3. Here's one of my favourite characters. A demon Brute turned Hero. She is, for all intents and purposes, my 'main', even if I haven't played her recently.

Funny thing is, she began as a sort of joke character, but actually ended up evolving into a proper character who just had a silly backstory.
  4. I know it probably sounds like a goofy combination to most Vets out there, but I was dreaming up a concept and I was just wondering how viable the combination of AR and Time would be on a Corr? What would it be good at, and what would it be bad at?

See, I kinda liked the idea of going solo and fluffing up the /Time as bullet-time stuff, but I wasn't sure I wanted to take DP, since I didn't really like DP much when I played it... so it got me thinking.

I'm not too committed to the idea, but I'd still like to see if it would work. Obviously anything can work, but I'd prefer that the experience wasn't painful.

So yeah, any thoughts? It just seems like a fun character idea.
  5. I could never get into a lot of the fan-comics. Either they used slightly creepy-looking (IMO) CG, or they used the in-game models with lines hastily drawn around the objects and characters. I'm sure some of them were well written, maybe even a lot of them, but I kinda prefer drawn comics myself. Especially since most of the in-game screenshot comics can only draw from the same pool of animations, so the actual panels are visually uninteresting...

I'd totally love to see more drawn ones, though. Like I said, it's more of a personal preference thing.
  6. I've always thought the "But somebody might do something inappropriate" is a bit silly, since that's true of everything in any game. People already do inappropriate things, and they're usually reported and dealt with. I can't imagine it'd be any worse with optional female minions.

Not sure about "Female only", but both "One Gender Only" pet options could be fun for certain concepts, even if I'd prefer to be an equal-opportunity employer, myself. For things like thugs, you'd not even need to do much work in it. Just give some women biker jackets, et voilĂ !

Totally signed, but sadly I doubt we'll be getting it, even though everyone seems to be in general agreement.

    Comic Relief

It's a pity it'd probably be a hassle to work out, because I still say shooting sonic powers out of a guitar would be awesome.
  8. I really do like a lot of your designs. Since you're open to general artistic discussion, I'd like to ask... do you have a preference for tech pieces and sci-fi/cyberpunkish styles? You definitely seem to enjoy the sleek, streamlined tech look, along with lots of more 'grungy' tech options. Heck, I'd almost say Noble Savage is a prime example, himself.
  9. I don't really care about the rest of the pack - more corsets? Really? - The cigarette and the curly hair option are gonna be singularly bought by me. I've been asking for curly hair since forever, and the cig is a little less silly looking than the full cigar.
  10. You know, I'm all for zone revamps, but it kinda worries me, what with the changes to Atlas, that they might start changing the content itself of zones to 'match' the new content. They've removed Galaxy, removed all the old early mission content from Atlas and Mercy (And admittedly it wasn't that good, but I'd love to have it still be an option anyways)... why are you removing old content instead of just adding new content? I mean, we don't even get that many arc choices in the new content. (Not to mention the annoying instanced-but-not-really zone content where enemies just suddenly appear around you in your own private Atlas, and enemies re-spawning with a little 'POP!' in those revamped zones)

I'm all for zone revamps and new missions, but I'm a little worried when the old content starts to disappear for very little good reason. I liked that when new content I didn't like was released I could just say "At least I can still play the old stuff and ignore the new stuff", but that's becoming less true, even with the 'Echo's.
  11. You know, I could never get a character beyond 25 for the longest time. I kept being told that once I got to 30, things would open up, but I solo a lot and I don't tend to play for that long on a single character so I never really saw it.

Then I got to 30 on my Brute, and it was pretty fun for a bit. I had almost all of my primary and secondary and even a good deal of extra powers by about 32, and I was playing with the whole toybox, and then...

Nothing. The game just stopped. 34+ was just an exercise in "Oh goody, I've got more slots. I want powers, can I have more powers?" until by about 38 I just couldn't stand the long slogs that earned me nothing I was interested in. The initial discovery - the 1 to 20 - remains my favourite period of the game for power-sets I haven't tried, because it's all about seeing my shiny new powers and thinking how great they'll be when I get stronger. I have no desire to grind to get the incarnate powers, because I just don't find that sort of thing fun... so there really wasn't any drive to level after I had all my powers.

Sure, it means a lot of people just brush me off when I RP on my low-level alts, but they probably aren't worth hanging out with anyways.

Basically, I can't agree that life begins at 30. Having got there and beyond at last, it feels distinctly... underwhelming. Like I've finally collected all the coins for my collection, but now I don't have anything to do. I've got capes, auras, four costume slots, all the primary, secondary and power pools (except ancillaries) that I want... there really isn't anything I care about anymore.

It's probably mostly a case of that character being a brute, but I got a blaster to around 34 and it felt about the same. Am I unusual?
  12. Ah, I see. I had seen someone say that the new powersets were to be bought without saying that VIP would get them for free, you see, and that's where I had got the initial impression.

If it really is set up like we have it now, only with items that would have been in packs purchasable from the store (does that mean I could potentially get those blasted unlockable emotes I want without having to do incarnate content as well?) then I'm glad I was wrong about it, because I was genuinely worried for a bit there.

    Thanks for the clarification!
  13. If that is what you are erroneously taking from my statements, I no longer wish to speak with you. Good night.
  14. This isn't life, it's a video game. A video game that currently does not give me this problem.
  15. But how will I know if I like the new powersets if I haven't played them? The ability to play anything (even if I don't want to) is better than not being able to play them even if I did want to, or having to pay for each thing individually only to find out I don't enjoy playing them.

I don't mean to be a damper on things, but aren't I already, as a subscriber, getting a better value than the proposed plan? Like, by a lot?

Current Plan: I pay once a month, get new power sets and costumes and places and missions for free as we update the game (barring packs here or there, or silly things like having to unlock the ability to fall over) as part of the deal.

New Plan: Pay for all new content like power sets individually, or use points which you earn from buying things, along with the VIP fee.

I hope I'm seeing this wrong, but it seems... oddly disproportionate.
  17. There are ATs other than brutes?

    Oh, wow...
  18. Hopefully I worded that title right.

Basically, I'd like to know what your personal favourite choice of powersets (or even just singular powers) is in terms of what you think looks the most impressive visually. What do you think looks the most impressive, the "Flashiest"? Performance doesn't have to matter - it's all about how it awesome it looks!

As for myself, I don't have the greatest experience with the ranged ATs, but the few I have had have always felt more impressive to me than the melee characters. My favourite character just to watch was my Fire/Energy Blaster, (both coloured green) simply for all the beams and explosions of colour everywhere throughout the fights once I got to the mid-levels.

It's sometimes been recommended to me that I play something like an FF/Energy Defender, since I love explosions, and sending things flying so much!

    How about you?
  19. If you're willing to kick someone simply because they dared to customize their powers, I think you will swiftly find yourself in that place where 1-starred and /ignored people go.

Of course, hopefully I'm reading that wrong, your posts are rather hard to follow.
  20. Here's Uthra Naddijath, one of my other preexisting characters whom I've given a quick costume change...

Not entirely sure if I like all of this - trying to decide what to do with it, but I've always liked her as a character. There's something about her outfit I just am not quite sold on, and I've been trying to work it out. Until then, here's what I've got!

I could grab the aura and colour it green for Maddie... :P
  22. Ah, finally, I am able to share my revised character!

Maddie Luckless, my crazy scrapping Irishwoman!
  23. I would have finally had a spiffy new steampunk costume to show you guys, but more than seven hours and a report later, I still do not have the pieces I purchased. :/
  24. Well, I know I got it.

Then again, despite paying for it, I still haven't received it, and it's been a while now...
  25. "Ah, yes - welcome. We have been observing other universes on our monitors here in Portal Corp. As you can see here, this universe is different only by a fraction - in that everyone we know is sporting rather fetching top hat and monocle, except for Lord Recluse, who is apparently a mallard duck."
