Viability of Assault Rifle/Time?
Time is a very active set, on a team you'll want to get close to melee to buff/heal your mates (your main buffs are PBAoE) and you also get a 25 radius debuff aura.
So, while I don't have an AR toon, what might be bad in this combo is AR's reliance on narrow cones (Buckshot 30 degrees, Full Auto 20 degrees, meaning you'll want to use them from distance - Flamethrower is 45 which is better for being closer to the action).
On my ice/time I respecced out of Frost Breath (same range/arc as Buckshot) because I was tired of going back and forth just to use the cone, imo Time works better when you're like 20 feet from the action (the aura is 25 feet) which doesn't favour cones. Not that it would be as bad as say, when I made an Energy/Kin and saw that I was KBing every mob I wanted near me lol.
I know it probably sounds like a goofy combination to most Vets out there, but I was dreaming up a concept and I was just wondering how viable the combination of AR and Time would be on a Corr? What would it be good at, and what would it be bad at?
See, I kinda liked the idea of going solo and fluffing up the /Time as bullet-time stuff, but I wasn't sure I wanted to take DP, since I didn't really like DP much when I played it... so it got me thinking.
I'm not too committed to the idea, but I'd still like to see if it would work. Obviously anything can work, but I'd prefer that the experience wasn't painful.
So yeah, any thoughts? It just seems like a fun character idea.
