    I would be very interested in joining this mission, Thunder Aura, Level 48 Electric/Energy Blaster. I hope to see you in Striga.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Great!
    I'll see you then
  2. Write me in for Synapse, Sister Psyche and Citadel for my lvl 37 Inv/ss tank.
    Be aware; the Citadel TF still has the uber wolves which spawn at lvl 35... and the Positron TF is still a right pain in the backside.

    I use Aid Other on my Bots/FF and that seems way better than repair.
    With Twilight Grasp you could probably do without repair and the medicine pool without any big problems.
  4. It seems the Council are up to something big, really big.
    And as ever it is up to those defiant heroes to sort it out.
    If you think you have what it takes to trim those council goons down to size then sign up here.
    All are welcome, level 25 and up.

    New Age Tankers

    [ QUOTE ]

    They can get mud pots. All tank primaries get some form of taunt aura.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I was (briefly) on a team with a granite tank once; who didn't have taunt or mudpots.
    But for some reason they also had tough.. which was a bit odd.
  6. I'll try and be there with my tank.
    But it will be just after I get back in so I might be a second or two late.
  7. It's level 35 minimum for this one isn't it?

    My lvl 35 tank would be eager to take part if possible...
  8. The_Moog_EU

    I know nothing

    Ice is a good set and much tougher than it used to be.
    Not sure about Ice melee however...?

    How about Ice/Energy Melee or Ice/Super Strength?
    Both of those would give good defence and good damage.

    I have a Inv/SS tank who solos and teams quite well.
  9. [ QUOTE ]

    Can the_moog and Sin_Harvest please post their alt's name that will be taking part, or their global tell address please.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The tanks name is 'Dr. Liah Philips'
  10. I have a level 34 Inv/SS Tank who would be eager to show those Crey a thing or two...
    So if you need a tank give us a shout.
  11. Looks pretty good.
    My thoughts:

    Confuse is a great power and a duration on this can help, it's good for locking down an extra mob if your AoE holds are not ready yet or one mob got missed (which happens a lot even with 2 accuracies).

    Also consider getting Hasten, it stacks really well with Siphon Speed.

    Acc in stamina?

    Terrify could really do with an accuracy and maybe a recharge or duration.
  12. Thanks for all the advice, I ended up playing it safe and just went for handclap.. I may experiment on the test server when I get a respec next.

    I'm trying to make my tank fairly flexible.
    I frequently solo as well as tank for an empath in my sg and quite often have to tank for large teams as well.
    So I am going to need a good mix of attack and defense.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    Fight pool offers sustainable passive defense, presence pool is unsustainable active defense. I'd take fight pool and bring the endurance cost of the whole build including attack chain cost down (not simply picking a power and 3 slotting end). Weave for herding is great as its better to not be hit at all and good to also miss out on most secondary effects.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Good points.
    Does weave protect against AoE effects?
    It seems to suggest not in the description...

    [ QUOTE ]
    Best thing for sappers or anyone dangerous is probably a ranged hold from epics as they have good duration if ya not fussy which one, go for fire or ice because you get the hold at 41, but fire would give ya more frequent ranged aggro grabbing skills too. Are you actually really wanting flight btw? cos combat jump and haste would be nicer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I got Air Superiority to fill out my attack chain and flight looked cheap after that.. ideally I would like Teleport for style
    But Combat jumping would give a bit of extra defence...
    Thanks for the advice
  14. Hi all,
    I need a bit of advice about the direction my inv/ss tank is going.
    At the moment I am about to hit level 30 and am considering either going for the Fighting pool for tough and weave or going for the Presence pool for the Invoke Panic.
    I thought the Invoke panic might be useful against carnies and the like.

    Here is my current build up to 28 with the planned presence picks:

    01) --> Temp Invulnerability
    01) --> Jab
    02) --> Dull Pain
    04) --> Haymaker
    06) --> Resist Physical Damage
    08) --> Air Superiority
    10) --> Unyielding
    12) --> Taunt
    14) --> Fly
    16) --> Swift
    18) --> Invincibility
    20) --> Health
    22) --> Stamina
    24) --> Knockout Blow
    26) --> Tough Hide
    28) --> Rage
    30) --> Provoke
    32) --> Unstoppable
    35) --> Intimidate
    38) --> Foot Stomp
    41) --> Invoke Panic

    Provoke would be a bit of a waste with taunt already there but I could respec out of taunt later maybe...
    For the fighting pool I would take boxing now, tough at 35 and weave at 41. This would give a lot of lethal/smash resist which I don't seem to have any problem with already, but would weave make a big enough difference?

    Edit: Also tough and weave seem a bit end-costly, how bad are they to run?

    Also does anyone have any handy hints on dealing with Carnies and Sappers?

    Any advice would be handy,

    Bots / FF build

    [ QUOTE ]
    zap, some questions, does this work well without stamina?

    why not get rid of pulse rifle burst, put deflection shield there, get aid other at 10, aid self at 18 and resusicate at 49?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    IMO it's no problem without Stamina.
    I usually only run short when summoning or in a really tough EB fight.
    The rifle attacks are not needed really, they do help when you are in the early levels but they become insignificant later on.

    Bots / FF build

    Here is my bots mm to date:
    I went the stamina-less route as well, also skipped the attacks.

    01) --> Battle Drones
    01) --> Force Bolt
    02) --> Deflection Shield
    04) --> Insulation Shield
    06) --> Equip Robot
    08) --> Recall Friend
    10) --> Assault
    12) --> Protector Bots
    14) --> Teleport
    16) --> Personal Force Field
    18) --> Tactics
    20) --> Dispersion Bubble
    22) --> Aid Other
    24) --> Aid Self
  17. This site is quite handy for getting name ideas:
    http://www.behindthename.com/
  18. My mind/kin so far has gone without a proper travel power and it is very painful at times.
    Especially when I end up traveling through zones populated by purples...
    And even more frustrating when you miss with that Siphon.
  19. Thanks ExtraGonk,
    I shall forget about dark pit for now..
    Leaving stamina out will also give some room.
    Cheers
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    I went to L50 without stamina, once you get Transference you don't really need it ...but you have to get close.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I have noticed that when in a team I don't run out of end that often. I shall put it off and see how desperate I get.

    [ QUOTE ]
    I would drop aid other for hasten & three slot it asap, with a couple of siphon speeds you'll be spamming transfusions like a mad thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Good idea, I'll shunt hasten in.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Inertial reduction only needs one slot, transference I did 2xacc 2xend mod 2xrech Fulcrum shift I have 3x acc 3xrecharge...cos it rocks & I don't like missing. Hover is okay for knockback protection & with siphon speed you'll be whizzing along.

    I will point out that tactics just eats endurance, so you may want some end reductions in it, otherwise looks okay to me....have fun :=)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Would two end-reduction and two to-hit do for tactics?
    Thanks for your advice, I shall adjust my plan.
  21. I'm fairly new to the game and slowly making my way through with my Defender who is now up to level 10.
    But I am really unsure about what powers to take and in what order, and slotting for most of them.
    Here is my rough build plan:

    01) --> Transfusion==> Empty(1) Empty(3) Empty(3) Empty(11)
    01) --> Dark Blast==> Empty(1) Empty(5) Empty(17)
    02) --> Siphon Power==> Empty(2) Empty(5) Empty(11)
    04) --> Moonbeam==> Empty(4) Empty(7) Empty(17)
    06) --> Siphon Speed==> Acc(6) Acc(7) Rechg(9) Rechg(9) Rechg(31)
    08) --> Assault==> Empty(8)
    10) --> Swift==> Empty(10) < Currently Here
    12) --> Speed Boost==> Empty(13) Empty(13) Empty(21)
    14) --> Tactics==> TH_Buf(14) TH_Buf(15) TH_Buf(15) Empty(21)
    16) --> Hurdle==> Empty(16)
    18) --> Inertial Reduction==> Empty(18) Empty(19) Empty(19)
    20) --> Stamina==> EndMod(20) EndMod(23) EndMod(23)
    22) --> Tenebrous Tentacles==> Empty(22) Empty(34)
    24) --> Dark Pit==> Empty(24) Empty(25) Empty(25)
    26) --> Transference==> Empty(26) Empty(27) Empty(27) Empty(29)
    28) --> Hover==> Fly(28) Fly(29) Fly(31)
    30) --> Aid Other==> Empty(30) Empty(31)
    32) --> Fulcrum Shift==> Empty(32) Empty(33) Empty(33) Empty(33) Empty(34) Empty(34)

    I liked the sound the Dark pit and Tentacles but I couldn't see a way to put them in earlier without skipping Stamina.
    Is Stamina even needed with Transference? Although level 26 seems a long way off.
    All hints and tips gratefully received.
