Posi and I did want to make this the year where we gave fans what they've been asking for!
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks to everyone at Cryptic for all the hard work that must have been needed to make it happen! I'm having a ball with Inventions and Rikti-raiding, then you go spring this up-coming wow-fest upon us.
I look forward to I11 with anticipation! -

What a great response!
Thanks guys - I'm thrilled that you guys are so tickled with this past edition of the paper.

The clues, they are everywhere!

I have no strong feelings on this either way, so will trust in LH and Ex's judgement on the balance of pro's and con's. Started off posting in CoV General but moved over to Heroside when the conversation just seemed more interesting, been here ever since.
Occaisionally I've made forays out into the other forums but usually return here in short order.
Does this forum merge come with a pony? -
Someone has been fluxing with the timespace continuum!
Don your capes, hold fast your holy shotguns!
You will need:[*]A handful of heroes steadfast in their resolve to defend Paragon, and the world!
Check! [*]Another handful of villains set on preserving their nefarious goals at all costs!
Check!
Thrusters to maximum! This looks like a battle of truly epic dimensions!
Count me in!
*Masterful use of mystery and style in the build-up to this Issue release Devs ! -

However, given I'm going to look at I10 by what it has rather than what it lacks, it looks like a good issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
The glass is definately more than half-full.I'm looking forward to this event. Haven't tried it on Test as I like to maximise my awe and wonder when a new issue goes live. That being said I'm liking what I'm hearing!

Another fine edition folks. I find the City Sccop a nice way to rest my weary button-mashing fingers from game sessions while still enjoying the Co* world.
Nice work, good job, keep it up. Oh, and PL Meh. -
Excellent news! I'll be a part of one or more PUG's taking full advantage of this over the Double XP fest.
In answer to the other person's question regarding drop rates - I'm pretty sure Positron would have mentioned it if they were doubled.
Oh, and early happy birthday wishes Posi. -

What would one have to do to make the headline?
[/ QUOTE ]
**I am the Killbot 5000, from the year 4987 I bring you a portent...of Doom, yes...doom.**
The Killbot extends a copy of a faded and yellowed City Scoop, dated 1st June 2007, the headline reads;
Citizens Discover The Printing Press, Developers Nervous
Something like this?
Seriously though folks, great work! More please. -
I would dust for prints but I fear ruining my shiny shiny CCG Statesman card. As for framing Ex for a crime she didn't commit, I'm inventive, I'm sure I could think of other ways.
Like dusting the letter for prints! -
My personal opinion on the Secret 7th Reason:
"It's working as intended."
I haven't been following the discussions on I9 much (I'd rather be playing it) but from my own work I know it can be tiring trying to explain to people that what they 'expect' is not always what they'll get.
Oh...moo! -
Your mail must have had a little help from Synapse, not only did I get a Collectable Card of Statesman signed by the big man himself, but it also arrived in lightning quick fashion all the way around this side of the globe!
There were a couple of sweet bumper stickers too;
"I'd rather be fighting Villains!" ...and...
"Evil doesn't sleep, why should you?"
Awesome! Far better tokens than any used in the laundromats around Paragon!
Thanks Ex Libris, I'm feelin' all warm and fuzzy inside now! -

That's robotic tyranny
[/ QUOTE ]
Did someone mention robotic tyranny?
*clears throat and taps microphone*
RAAWWWRRR!!!
That is all. -
Happy 3rd Anniversary Cricket, you crazy bug you! Give my hello's to Cuppa too. Lighthouse and Ex_Libris are doing a great job keeping the rabble under control (an unenviable task) here on the forums and Co* is going from strength to strength.
There are few games that have managed to hold me for the length of time this one has, I may not have been around on Day 0, but a year and a half of my attention goes a long way to proving that this is one heck of a game.
P.S Hope the bruises from the Cuppathon Arena matches have healed. -

Each of those 15 individuals will be receiving a letter from me in the mail with a small token of my appreciation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sweet Ex! I'mma gonna get mail! From over-the-great-seas no less! And a token too?
*Hopes for a laundry token*
Seriously though. More than happy to give you a hand with an avatar idea and I appreciate you taking the time to send out a thank you (I guess I do crave attention, who'd of thunk it).
I've always been a bit meh about the 'everyone wins' idea, but that's all changed now, coz I'm one of them!
"Approved by Positron" and now a contest winner all in the space of a few days. People say I9's coming out anytime now too, it's the perfect trifecta!
Love and robot-hugs from The Killbot 5000 (Unit 12 of 15). -
I had an a whole lot of fun, my pics of the event can be found here .
Kudos to the Devs, Community Reps and w00t radio staff for making the 3rd Anniversary a big ball of fun! See you all at the 4th Anniversary party if not before.
Rock on! -

Nice Killbot. Just as an FYI on our server situation, we're comfortably set to handle 1200 listeners tonight so I don't think there will be ANY problems what so ever.
[/ QUOTE ]
Great news Jester! I mentioned it only because it was a problem I struck with my first event (I figure being on the other side of the planet doesn't help with latency much either). It sounds as if you've got the situation well in hand. Cya there!

<QR> A few tips for those who are new to this whole thing.
1) Follow the instructions in this thread to copy your characters over to the Test Server.
2) Log into the Test Server (allow enough time for the latest version to download to your PC - maybe an hour) and head to Icon/Facemaker for a make-over. This will cost you no *real* influence/infamy because nothing on the Test Server affects your real characters on the other servers. The Theme for the party is Secret Identity, be inventive, if your character always goes around in street clothes then you won't have much work to do, if they're a demon / robot / etc then magic and holographic projectors can do marvellous things. It's a suggested theme, ya don't have to dress up if you don't want to.
3)Surf to w00tradio and click on the media player of your choice to connect. Note: You may want to connect to the backup server if it's up to avoid buffering. Proceed to Rock.
4) Take your character to Pocket D. Don't be surprised if there are many instances of it, choose one and stick to it. Trying to chase the Devs from instance to instance is futile and they will visit all instances.
5) Party party party! - Dance, chat with others, try out the infamous Maze o' Doom, gather around any Community Rep or Dev in a ball of fandom so tight they'll have difficulty breathing. Maybe (if it happens) get yourself a temp title from one of the Devs. These don't last more than a couple of days and as this is on Test they won't last forever, so take screenshots of your title if you get one!
6) ...and relax.
Hope this helps answer some of the more common questions.
Prepare to Party! -

Now that I can follow!!!
Soooooo, w00t Radio coverage starts approx 8am tomorrow morning for me.
Sweet...I'll be there about 9am
Thanks for helping with that

Also you might use www.timeanddate.com to keep track of the countdown, which is what I do. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sounds like your alter ego is already running around on test.... on some elses account.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I kinda figured that'd be the answer, unfortunately, there must be another Killbot sent from the future perhaps from an alternate future, yeah...that's it!
Oh well, I won't let it ruin my fun. It's not like the name is exactly original, I chose it for the 'cheese-factor' and guess I'm not alone in appreciating fine cheese. -
[ QUOTE ]
You could reveal to the world that your actually a small robot disguised as a him/her human.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I've popped the Killbot 5000 onto Test, used the Facemaker and installed a Killbot Kamoflage Module. No, he doesn't appear as a woman, but a holographic projection of a rather burly man, you still wouldn't want to look at him funny.
Btw, anyone know why even though I've no other versions of the Killbot on test it still renames him from Killbot 5000 to Killbot 5001? It's gonna ruin any screenshots for me. -
-
I'll be there as one or both of my alter-egos, AC -DC or the infamous Killbot 5000, although you may not recognise me, after all I'll be in my secret identity.
I will be joining the queue for any temp titles on offer this time around I think. As this is a Training Room event, remembering to immortalise whatever title I get in many screenshots is key!
3 years and still going strong!
See you all on the night! -
While echoing the other posters sentiments on Snaptooth reappearing, (I didn't bother with the missions), my main problem with the event was the lack of a party. Maybe my invitation got lost in the mail, but I would have thought a w00t dance extravaganza would have made for a great grand opening.
Special appearances by the NCSoft and Cryptic team, maybe some tie in role-play with the signature heroes and villains to kick things off. These are all things that have made the most memorable events for me.
I still appreciate all the hard work done on this, and all things CoX, I'm jaded maybe? -
[ QUOTE ]
I know some people might not understand >< but for me - Knowing *why* a thread was shutdown is invaluable. It feels... well more respectful. I know technically we as posters aren't entitled to a whole lot of that if we break the rules - but it feels better to not just have your post vanish into the void. A locked thread is still dead - and it lets you see what you need to avoid.
[/ QUOTE ]
I had a couple of posts "vanish into the void" on me. It really surprised me as I didn't consider the opinions expressed offensive, passionate, but not offensive. Not knowing for sure whether my posts were moderated into oblivion or if some quirk of the Intarweb had made them disappear was irksome. This gives nothing to learn from as you've said.
That being said, the Forums are still here and going strong, the game is still fun, and Lighthouse (and the other moderators) are doing a tough job with sufficient force to keep us retrobates in order. -
Nice pictures Dr_Gunner, now if only I had a character whose concept would fit with wings. I've got definate plans for a trenchcoat, hopefully they look good on Huge characters.
Nice work!
