It would be a good idea, if you want to find out for sure. If you discover that you're right and the mission doesn't end until you kill all, perhaps send a bug report in-game about it.

color:red in square parentheses = RED
with /color in square parentheses as the end tag. -
Quite a likely explanation, I've kept my eye on 'runners' for some time now, otherwise they can end up somewhere obscure and you end up having to kill all just to find which was the one thug who was supposed to be guarding the boss you just whooped.

I can seriously say that thing's look positively terrific for you folks in the States with a service that fast compared to what I have in NZ. As pointed out by Hyperstrike for gaming latency is a key consideration, but still!
I deal with 4Mb/s UP and 0.14Mb.s DOWN. Latency of first hop is 120ms. According to Speedtest.net North America has an average rating of 5.94Mb/s, so at least some of you don't know how good you've got it.
I'd be interested in this fabled 50Mb/s, but somehow I don't think they'll be in my area any time soon.

Yeah, the only appropriate answer to the question is the ever-present "Soon", this is a business they're running here full of marketing, competition, PR, cat-girls and robots.
We'll get information ...when it's good and ready! -
Yeah, annoying: definately, essential; definately.
Otherwise you might as well being playing football against manequins. -

I'd estimate after HeroCon '09, before Christmas, so:
Monday November 16th 2009, 1pm PST.
What do we win if we're right, teh internets? -
Or you could do what I've done, not take Stamina on any character in many long years of playing! *gasp*
Just bought it on one of my toons yesterday and only because there were no other thematically suitable powers available to choose. So, depending on your playstyle, PvP'er vs PvE, solo or team, Archetype etc, I'm only commenting to point out that it's not the essential that I've heard so many people claim.
I'm just sayin'... -
There's not a lot fun about being "one-shotted", I'm using the quotes around that because it stands for being on full health one moment and on the floor the next, regardless of the mechanics of how you get there. I really don't like it when it happens to my characters, there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
That being said, I also find it an integral part of the game, because it is with these moments that my hero gets dragged down from god-hood to mortality. If I didn't have anything to lose, if the stakes weren't high, and the sense that any moment could be my toons last wasn't there then I think I would enjoy playing far less.

Entering the Architect datastream (going into the mission) gives the "you cannot enter" popup, but you enter anyway. This is new tonight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also receiving this pop-up dialog upon entering ArcID 96001. If you die and go to the hospital, then re-enter the mission you get a different dialog box, "You cannot enter."
Neither message actually stops you entering the mission. -
Great idea Sam, although as BAB's has pointed out it's the 'entirely inappropriate' part of your "lying on your back" or "writhing in pain" suggestions that is probably at the crux of the issue.
I remember the wolf howl sound effect problem, a perfectly innocent sound effect used by a minority of players to spam howl effects endlessly under Atlas. It's an example of a good idea that would be fine used by most of us, but when in the hands of the immature could cause all sorts of strife. I'm sure you can imagine what the immature would do with the emote examples I mentioned.
Now, did BAB's mean 'inappropriate' in this sense? Or 'inappropriate' in the sense that there are far more important, game-improving, majority-pleasing, things that the team can be working on instead? Hard to tell, probably both.
While we're on the subject, gee, some of you guys got a bit grumpy with BAB's didn't ya? As he's said, pleasing the majority of us players is something he considers hard. When you see some of the replies to his posts it's easy to see why. Give the guy a break sometime.
Oh, and Power Customisation now please! -
I'm not disappointed with the way in-game ads haven't taken off. Please see my sig.

These are all good thoughts. I guess it comes down to limiting the travel-power aspect of it, because as stated there are other ways for a lowbie to do O-zone missions while teamed.
As I've done a fair amount of the Oro stuff and I'm familiar with the zones having played the game for quite a while, I was mainly looking forward to it for the travel reduction, so was a little disappointed when I clicked and found I couldn't even use that part of it until 25.
It is how it is, I'll have the toon in question to 25 before long anyways, so it's not a biggie, but I did wonder. -
I'm not griping about this, it just struck me as strange that I could acquire it but not be able to use it until 25. I think both Tealeaf and ClawsandEffect have a lot of good ideas about why it might have been this way.
Also, I guess the missions concerned were in the game already set to their appropriate level ranges and so in adding the ability to learn about time-travel to those missions that contain a time travel element seemed like a good fit even if you couldn't use it until later. -
I completed the Marshall Brass Arc Aeon through the ages and became Entrusted with the Secret on my level 19 Mastermind. When I go to use it, I find that the O-zone is limited to Level 25.
I was just wondering whether anyone knew what the design decisions were which led to this situation. It's not a big thing, but is counter-intuitive.
Any ideas? -
Great! See you in Paragon, the Rogue Isles, or even in Praetoria later this year!

I am not Lady Luck. You should be able to click the link and download the drivers and just install em. The modded inf file is already incorporated in the executable
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the problem occurring is that the site is marking as a leech any direct connection from your link.
BigBlueMachine: Copy this URL to your browser and navigate there naturally rather than clicking the link:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/xp/182.46
This comes with a bit of a warning, third-party modded drivers may be a bit iffy, but at this stage I'd say you're willing to take that risk, and Murphy has tried them...so, should be okay.
Good luck!
Edit: In I8 (which I'm running too) the page locks up for a bit before bringing up a script error, click Yes to stop running the script then click the Driver link (NOT the Start Download link, that's bogus!) -
Gee, that would be frustrating. We've looked at a bunch of software (driver) causes, but you haven't mentioned whether you've checked that the hardware isn't reporting problems.
Have you looked under Control Panel - System - Hardware - Advanced - Device Manager - Display Adapters? There should be a listing for your display adapter there, you sound pretty savvy, and you may have been to this screen many times to uninstall / reinstall the drivers, but are there any hardware conflicts reported? Any yellow warning exclamation marks or red X's? Is the device listed as Enabled? In any of these circumstances your lappie is going to try and use it's onboard video which would fail abysmally at running this game or any other.
Also, how often do you reboot your laptop, perhaps there were some changes made a couple of weeks ago, but the problem only occurred when you rebooted?
Finally, ya might want to double check that this service is running:
O23 - Service: NVIDIA Display Driver Service (NVSvc) - NVIDIA Corporation - C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe
Look for nvsvc32.exe on your Task Manager list of processes. It should be running but using virtually no resources. -
Okee, not sure if this is related, but upon applying for a position at Paragon Studios (no, didn't get it, I'll just have to keep playing instead), the reply came from:
donotreply@invalidemail.com
Now, that strikes me as highly likely to be causing some issues with filtering / anti-spam measures as it ended up in my Junk Mail folder on Hotmail. People may want to add that domain to their filtering. Someone encountered this before, know what it's about? -
[Kramer]I'm out[/Kramer]. Good luck to whoever else applies!

I feel your pain BigBlue. I take it you play the game on the laptop's own built-in monitor? You don't have a multi-screen set-up or another monitor attached?
From memory Sony Vaio's have an application in the system tray to set output to single or multiple display, are these settings appropriately set to single display?
[/ QUOTE ]
My usage is about 60/40 own laptop display/ SonyTV doubling for larger monitor. I don't have a system tray button for it but I do have it set to clone my display so it reads as a single screen mirrored.I'm beginning to feel like a [censored] seeing as how I I had resubbed both the Mrs and my account for a 3 month cycle and for some reason I expected more than a couple of weeks out of the time.
...and like a sucker I keep trying to load City, even in safe mode like its going to make a difference the 30th time
[/ QUOTE ]
Definately set it to single display (monitor only), I had an issue of the game not loading/running uber-slow when set to clone. I have a desktop PC with a different NVidia card, but still, absolutely something I'd try.
I also have had a look for an updated driver for your model of laptop, you're not missing anything, you're right about Sony Vaio's being an exception to the Nvidia driver update, and the Sony site has nothing new for your model either.
Don't feel bad, it's a glitch, where there's a will there's a way! -
Yes, haven't checked your numbers, but your points valid. Of course, adding text to search for like a villain name, or enemy type or whatnot helps us currently drill down to what we're after.
I'm sure there's a big list of suggestions for the MA search engine in the Mission Architect or Suggestions section of the forums. If you have any ideas that you'd like to put forward, those would be the places to air them with the most likelihood of being considered.
I manage with the current MA. Is there a particular type of mission you're looking for, or is this just a general comment on the search engine as it is?
Edit: For example, searching for Skulls, Any Rating, Short Length, Heroic morality, That I haven't rated, yields only 35 results. This is pretty good I feel. -
Nice dictionary! I usually have no problem getting a decent name, mostly through using just a little originality, adding a first name, or some other little trick like that, but I'm all for increasing the playerbase's verbositude!
-
I'm pretty sure that additions to the search filters (I assume you're talking about AE/MA) are already on the cards. They're aware of the difficulty of finding arcs you're after. What we have with the Mission Architect is version 1 if you will.
