The funny thing about this pic is, it started out literally as a scribble. I just happened to notice that part of the scribble looked like a pirate hook. So, several seconds of cropping later, I had the hook moved to a new canvas, and I started in on the pirate .
Do you see how blobby the hook is? That's me, messing with my new pressure-sensitive Wacom

I was sitting in the Hollows on my lowbie scrapper, waiting for my team to get started. It took them maybe 30 minutes, but everyone finally got to the door (it was in the middle of the Gulch). But, as I was waiting for them to get started. I scribbled up this. It took me maybe 5 minutes, but itwas sure as hell better then sitting in front of the mission, waiting.

I'd say your off to a good start here! (though I didn't know gnomes had such broad shoulders
). The nice bold lines are great to look at as well.
As for areas to work on, you need to work on your center line. On his head, it looks as though his beard is out of alignment and should be moved to the left by about 3/4 the length of half his mustache. The divide of his shirt should also be moved over by the same amount to match up with his crotch.
In the future, it looks like you might want to work a bit on putting down the basic frame work of the character with guidelines and simple shapes to make sure that when you start putting on all the clothing and accessories and what-not, it all fits right on the body and lines up
Still, great start there! Hope I've been of some help as well.

So I just recently got photoshop and have been slowly (ok very slowly) learning how to do some nifty things with it. I just learned how to make a cool firey effect and also how to crop out the background from other pics. So i decided to put the two together and this is the out come. I plan to add more things to the background like a burning building or something to that extent but to make it less plane. But the the most part I like it.

To start off, I was a chibi/avy reciever from earlier. So, others can have priority. Anyway, about gnome:
First off, reference pic is in my sig. If possible, I would like an "action pose" of him, and possibly a mushroom of some kind? A large mushroom, like in Mario. Other than that, um...bio? His bio is basicly he is an elite gnome assassin. Not much other than that.
If this post doesnt make too much sense, sorry. Im really tired
