  1. Still plenty copies of Going Rogue on Ebay. Considering that you can still find boxed versions of Neocron 1 out there (which was discontinued at least six years ago) i suspect there will be boxes of CoX out there for some time.

Not sure what you're really getting at here though. Are you looking at filing some sort of suit against NCSoft? Once the copies are sold to retailers it's up to the retailer to try to get their money back (something I can't see) or to remunerate the consumer for purchasing a dead item.
  2. It's nice to see them commiserating with us. I wish I liked CO as a game. I also wish that the taste of how STO was at launch would come out of my mouth.

You can't be a villain, you can't be a rogue or a vigilante. It also leaves me a bit cold. Paragon had a lot of time to make the game more user friendly, solo-friendly and accessible to casuals. All those things seem to be missing in CO.

The battle system seems a bit more "console-y" for me as well.
  3. Have they actually announced that they wouldn't sell it for any price? Because I haven't read anything like that anywhere. I kind of doubt they had enough time to even consider such a thing.

The price will be in the millions though and I have my doubts our player base can come up with that.

Did anyone *want* to buy Exteel, Auto Assault or Dungeon Runners?
  4. I don't actually think that s/he's saying that Positron owns the game. I think he's asking him to spearhead the effort which has its own legal difficulties and ramifications (none of which I'm privy to).

It _must_ live. I have my doubts that Sega would be interested or Valve (but at least they're west coast). Zynga might if they can show enough profit but I'm pretty sure they lost a lot of value recently. Maybe Paradox or SquareEnix?

It would be preferable to have it be player-owned certainly - but it will be a lot of money.
  5. I would prefer a NorCal publisher due to the devs having always been here. That's Zynga, Sega, EA as the big ones. Out of those I'd prefer it to be Sega. Frankly I don't care if everything is slathered in ads and facebook though if it means keeping the game alive.
  6. I will join anything that keeps the game alive.

We will need to find out roughly how much NCSoft wants for it though - or if they will sell it.

I will spend money to keep it alive.
  7. Many thanks Hit Streak and Zwillinger!

Happy Birthday Jack and thanks for everything you've done and your legacy.

BTW if you see Jim Steranko is going to appear at a convention ask him about Mister Miracle and Jack. Jim tells great stories and is himself a legend.
  8. Can't stand Nu52. That said the Legion isn't too bad (how bad can it be with Levitz on it?) but I can't say I've been following it religiously.

As someone that loved (loved!) the golden age characters their reboot is an abomination to me.

    Would this work?

x1300 is ludicrously old. Then again you can still play (some) games on a Radeon 9800. The inevitable follow up question will be whether they've got the funds to do a complete rebuild or just the video card so I anticipated that.

But yeah you're right - he only asked if it was outdated and you answered that.

In some circumstances where a full upgrade is not possible an AGP card can be a decent stopgap (3850 or 4670). I had done this very thing until I could buy or build something new (and I played World of Tanks and CoX just fine as well as many other games. Still laggy on newer FPSes of course).

Oftentimes a poster won't be the only person reading it and making a post that is trying to be helpful is helpful to others reading the thread. YMMV.

    Would this work?

The question I have for you - with the video card being that old - is whether it's an AGP or PCIe based card and computer. My next question being - what can you afford to spend?

I've played this game on a dual Opteron system with a 3850 AGP card with minimal issues. Didn't look as good as on my new comp though.
  11. Nyghtmaire thanks a lot. I really appreciate your thoughts and contribution and you've given me some food for thought. I'll come back with a new post once I've digested this and have some questions.

    Thanks again.
  12. Thanks much for the response and tips. I'll try to update with something more accurate with Mid's. A couple things I'd like to get clarification on:

It's kept me alive many times when without it would have been a trip to the hospital. That's not to say I'm defending it per se - but I will probably have to keep it on my Ouroboros build. What is it that you don't like about it and what are some alternatives in your view?

    Quote:
Perf Shifter proc will proc on the target. So don't do that. Glue Arrow just really is not that great. I would drop it or proc it. Flash Arrow is also just not that great but its better than an MM attack. Ice Arrow is the same way, it is cool, but is not really that great over all. Grab it if you want 4 basilisk gazes.
Thanks a lot about the Perf Shifter - I had missed that when looking on Paragon Wiki! I'm trying to get away from MM attacks because for the most part they're worthless. FA is good for not aggro-ing adjoining groups. I assume that Basilisks are for the 7.5 percent global recharge more than any thing else (?).

TA's Champs are Poison Gas Arrow, Acid Arrow, Disruption Arrow, and Oil Arrow. Slot em and love them.

As a build goal, I would focus on S/L soft cap (easy to attain, keeps you alive)-> then +recharge (keeps debuffs coming).

    Also MM's thrive on Leadership.
Any suggestions on what and where to slot there? Honestly not sure what you mean by S/L soft cap. I presume you mean on set bonuses when you're talking about +recharge.

What's your take on Web Cocoon (or Web Envelope for that matter)? Is Power Boost worth it?

    Thanks!
  13. Hi, I'm back after a pretty lengthy absence and want to bring my main toon up to 50 but not sure about slotting or powers. I'm primarily looking for a PVE build and maybe a secondary build just for Ouroboros runs. I'd prefer to stay away from purples or other sets that are going to be nigh impossible to afford without major grinding.

I've just dinged 40 with this toon.

    1. Soldiers

    1. Entangling Arrow

    2. Slug (probably will be respec'ed out)

    4. Glue Arrow - (Pacing of the Turtle - Acc/Slow, Range/Slow for sure)

    6. Equip Mercenary

    8. Flash Arrow (this is up for every battle - probably 4-5 slotted with Siphon Insights if not horribly expensive)

    10. Hover (probably six slotted if that's not a waste - currently five slotted. Blessing of the Zephyr Knockback Reduction SBE, looking to buy a Freebird + Stealth to make me harder to hit though a drag on many escort missions. No idea on whether Shield Wall is brutally expensive but it probably is. I figure 3 to 4 Luck of the Gamblers). Downside to the slotting is that you really don't get a high degree of def no matter what but the LotG set bonuses might make it worth it regardless and it's my only def until I get Scorpion Shield).

    12. Spec Ops

    14. Fly

    16. Poison Gas Arrow

    18. Ice Arrow

    20. Aid Other (necessary for keeping pets alive)

    22. Acid Arrow

    24. Aid Self

    26. Commando

    28. Teleport Foe (I've taken this so I can visit the hospital less. Might make sense to respec out closer to 50 but I still find it helpful as my guys will still aggro groups I don't want to aggro yet)

    30. Disruption Arrow

    32. Tactical Upgrade

    35. Scorpion Shield

    38. Oil Slick Arrow - burns nicely with taser inherent

    41. EMP Arrow - thinking about going with this here as it will likely need more slotting than Power Boost and will likely need Performance Shifter's Chance for +End

    44. Power Boost

    47. Web Envelope

    49. Web Cocoon? - this might be overkill. Also since I am probably respeccing Slug out I might have space for another power. Hasten, Maneuvers and Assault look like strong possibilities.

Any thoughts, opinions and "I've done that"s appreciated. Thanks

So that's what it looks like now - not what the ideal would be.
  14. I would love to have this option. Was just fighting a high level "Girlfriend from Hell" and reading about Demon Summoning MMs and really wanted to be able to run a character able to spawn such - or similar.
