It was a cheap low end ATI card when it came out 7 years ago.

The question I have for you - with the video card being that old - is whether it's an AGP or PCIe based card and computer. My next question being - what can you afford to spend?
I've played this game on a dual Opteron system with a 3850 AGP card with minimal issues. Didn't look as good as on my new comp though.
Buying an AGP card today would be a huge waste of money.
OP should give system specs if they were going to get something new/upgrade/change and list budget but the question was if the x1300 was outdated.

x1300 is ludicrously old. Then again you can still play (some) games on a Radeon 9800. The inevitable follow up question will be whether they've got the funds to do a complete rebuild or just the video card so I anticipated that.
But yeah you're right - he only asked if it was outdated and you answered that.
In some circumstances where a full upgrade is not possible an AGP card can be a decent stopgap (3850 or 4670). I had done this very thing until I could buy or build something new (and I played World of Tanks and CoX just fine as well as many other games. Still laggy on newer FPSes of course).
Oftentimes a poster won't be the only person reading it and making a post that is trying to be helpful is helpful to others reading the thread. YMMV.
Microcenter has some pretty crazy deals on CPUs.
They have a Phenom II 965 boxed + free motherboard for $100. Add in 8GB of DDR3 1600 ram for about $50 and you got a pretty good MB + CPU + RAM base for any budget game PC for $150.
AGP is a total dead end.

I have a putersaurus with an Nvidia 7900GS agp card, and it runs CoH fine. (Obviously I can't crank ultra mode to the top, but seldom have lag and crashes are rare.I do have the water effect turned up.) I will probably continue playing on this computer till it is totally dead, then will get a shiny new one.

Hi, its been a while since i played CoH, but ever since it came out as a FTP I instantly downloaded the client and registered a new account. After I finished all that I clicked the icon and got it started, all of a sudden i get a pop up saying that theirs something wrong with my video card and that I need to update it so I update it and I try again and still it saids that I need to update my video card so I don't know what to do so if somebody could give me some advice that would be great.
Also, i have a VisionTek Radeon X1300 is this a outdated video card?
