For the first, i've only ever constructed and RP'd a few times as a godlike entity, called Godblade. He wasn't capable of simply uncreating anything, as that wasn't his power. He was, what you'd call a minor god of war. He was extremley tough and strong, but by no means unbeatable or so strong he could lift a planet. But I grew tired of it, as I found there was little fun to him, no humanity in him to make him interesting: No little fears or worries, joys or passions. Just a being of godlike power.

Now, for Demons, I have a few I think, but my main one is Eternal Dread, a human-demon hybrid. For me, whenever someone says evil I imagine his skull-face. I RP as him because sometimes, I get sick of the normal day-to-day stuff or of goody-two-shoes heroes. I chose him to be a human-demon hybrid because, well, demons are evil. He just combines demonic evil with his own twisted human evil and combines them into some wicked form of ultra evil. Basically, when i've had enough of playing as the good guys, Eternal Dread is the first villain I look to.

On that note, Eternal Dread, whilst not a god or of godlike power, has some significantly powerful abilities. Namely, being able to tear the soul from an unsuspecting victim. As well, his power is such that he created his own pocket dimention out of literal nothing and has expanded it to be somewhat of a dimention of its own. He's the sort of powerful-but-not-godlike character with several very nasty tricks up his sleeve. The main one being that no one can follow him home, because no one knows where he lives or how to get there.
  2. Well, in that Villain Tip mission where you have to trick some heroes, Frostfire turns up and well .. he made a sad

"I couldn't even .. save this one person."

Poor Frostie, he tries so hard.

EDIT: Who could forget when a civilian says "Did you hear? *heroname* beat down BOSS_NAME !"

    That damned BOSS_NAME ...
  3. Well, thanks for the replies. It was just my luck last night that after hitting the 'Submit Reply' button I get a team invite to a team of 7

Next week should be easier on the alts in the 20+ range. Hopefully, after that, things should smooth out.

Of course, what would make things great is Positron 1 being WST, but we'll see.

  4. I agree. Whilst I've realized my methods of finding teams are .. lacking, my main concern is that the next few Issues (Including 20) will be exclusivley about Incarnates, thus, only end-game.

Like i mentioned, I quit a certain MMO because the end-game was, in my eyes, mind-numbingly dull.

Hopefully, this won't be the case. But, if they decide to throw something not end-game in, I'd sincerely like it to be anything other than "Oh look, 2 new shiny arcs!" ... That doesnt get people flocking, from my experiences. Maybe for a few days, then they're just 'missions' to everyone else.
  5. Well, true. But its hard to shake off the feeling of being a leech.

"Hey, you doing a level 40 mission! I can help! I've got a level 3 Defender!"

It just .. even though I can do it, I get the nagging voice in the back of my head telling me i'm a leech

I'd hate to be known as "That guy who's always wanting a damn team"

But I digress, my team finding habits are more along the lines of "They'll find me" So perhaps I should up my game.

But nevertheless, I still have my concerns. Though it may be down to my shoddy group finding skill, it only stirred my interest since it had usually found me groups in the past.
  7. ...

Moments after posting, guess who gets a team invite?

Anyway, next week should be easier on the alts as mentioned. And yes, the Incarnate craze will eventually die out, with all things.

I'm just a bit .. concerned if this doesn't dissipate, as the main reason for me quiting a certain popular MMO was exactly that all the hype and fun was locked away at the very end
  8. As far as I know, i am always tuned into the main team finding channel. And, as i've mentioned, anything that isn't the WST gets brushed under the carpet. When people are done on whatever the WST is, they either do another, or go on another alt that needs to do the WST.

I'm looking here at the main channel now. The only mention of anything that isn't a LGTF, is Apex. And that was a long time ago now. And that's not low level either.

Before WST or even Incarnates, I could expect to find a team at levels 1-20 rather easily, just by flagging 'LFT'.

Now .. nothing. Even at peak teams. Even at off times.

    Nothing.
  9. Recently, I have been swarmed by the overwhelming urge to make dozens of alts. There is one distinct problem why they are not advancing in level.

You see, I like teaming on this game. Which is odd, considering on most other games, I despise it. Anyway, as of late I am finding it increasingly hard to find a team that is:

    A) Not level 50.
    B) Not doing the WST.

My concern is that, with all the new shiny Incarnate stuff, it is overshadowing pretty much else. Or at least, I feel that way on Union (EU).

Thus, I can only solo, which I despise with a passion. Sure, I could turn the difficulty up, but somehow I don't think my level 10 Brute with 4 attacks could survive +1/4x or anything above average for that fact.

Hopefully, i'll be proven wrong. But so far, the only TF's ever run are the WST. Any mention of anything else is either ignored or suffers a lack of interest.

Whilst I can ask friends to team, it gets boring when there is only two or so people present. I like playing with a full team, and lately, the only time i've done that is on the WST with my main character.

    Any thoughts on this?
  10. Heck, some people like being hunted down by several groups of ludicrously over-powered enemies. But you know, one man's love is another man's hatred.

I'm sick of the enemies in Praetoria, to the point that I refuse to solo a character through Praetoria. Some people find them okay, fair enough. But if veterans find it too difficult, how can it possibly be fair on new players? *sigh*

Now, if I want a Brute on Blueside, i'll just level them to 20 in the Isles and do Rogue tips. It'll probably take half the time as well.
  11. Some great points here that I agree strongly with. One of my friends fired up a trial account a while ago, and, whilst they liked Praetoria, they found the unending ambushes very off-putting.

Personally, however, I feel these ambushes are on another level. I've gone beyond calling them 'heat seekers' and more of 'Magic omnipotent missile'. It has repeatedly been the case that, even AFTER i've been flattened and the ambush has run WELL out of LOS, I'll use a wakie a- Oh hello ambush.. and i'm back eating dirt. I don't get how that is fair in that you can't even resurrect in a mission, because ambushes will appear out of literal nowhere and slam you back down.

Now, that was a while ago. Recently, however, my hatred for ambushes was flared again. I was with a team of people, playing as a Mastermind, doing the valentines missions. Now, ambushes spawn, yes, but with a notable difference. They will completely by-pass ANY sort of aggro grabbing ability to get to me. The Brute taunted them: nothing. My pets rip one down to half health: Still coming for me. I leap across the map: They chase me.

This came to the point where I could literally not enter the mission, because if I did, an ambush I had NO hope of defeating would come out of nowhere and violate me horribly. And if I used a wakie? Well, its easy to guess what happened next.

Simply put, ambushes should never do that. Homing in, fair enough, but not on Stalkers. But to simply ignore the (What i percieve as broken) aggro mechanics is appaling, especially on a Mastermind where their pets are their defence.
  12. Hrm, well. The Minotaur head is in there, so thats one thing that has me thoroughly pleased (Bullrush will LIVE!)

But I'd like to see if there is more heads than were shown. If not, okay but i'd definatley like to see snakes/reptiles or shark/fish heads. But you know, I'm only really getting it for the Minotaur head so meh :P
  13. City of Heroes has given unto me not only one of my most favorite MMORPG's, but also a unique tool in creating my ideas and dreams and watching them do things. It has been pretty much a 'go-to' for when I have an idea for a character (Not just in City of Heroes, I do a lot of creative writing) or when i'm bored and wish to experiment.

I am thankful that CoH has a dev team that really listens to the community and does their best to satiate us, even when we give the appearance of a pack of hungry hounds. I can firmly say that CoH is unique for me in that the opinion of the customer really does have an impact on the choices made in the game, rather than 'This is what you're getting and you'll dang well like it!' some other games offer.

In short, thank deities above for CoH (I'd be very bored otherwise)

  14. TL;DR

In answer to the original question, I have a good selection of down right evil characters. From the top of my head I can think of Eternal Dread, Doctor Fallout and Nyctophobia, who are all serial killers, know what they do is considered wrong and against the law and generally enjoy it. Thus, they would be considered evil, no two ways about it.

I have no gripe with playing dispicable characters. As far as i'm concerned, its a game. I wouldn't dr- .. I would do half of what my characters do, and thats the enjoyment/amusement factor. Maybe my way of RP'ing is different in that I project myself onto my characters, for example, Doctor Fallout being me if I could get away with murder, though with a side-helping of insanity.

Generally, I don't dumb down my evil characters, save Doc Fallout, but then again, thats only to gain trust to buy a nice house in Paragon. I just don't believe that any of my ludicrously evil characters, namely Eternal Dread, would ever stop being evil for any feasible reason.

I do admit that i don't see many 'kitten kicking evil' characters that often, but maybe i'm looking in the wrong place.

Would I like to see more 'puppy punching evil' characters? Well, yes and no. I'm not entirely bothered, though I get a bit edgy when the excuse for such characters is "They get bored on weekends so they kill entire blocks of civilians" *overexaggeration* I'm quite happy if anyone can back-up just about anything a character does with a decent enough excuse, if not, I'll be miffed but then I'll shrug and continue RP'ing.

    Children

See, then children would be part of the 'Citizens' group found milling about in Mayhem missions. I don't think anyone would be too pleased if you could throw great balls of fire at them, despite the fact that Citizens are (Annoyingly) invincible for some reason.

I mean, why didn't they just send wave after wave of Citizens at the Rikti, since they don't seem to ever get hurt. Even with Brawl, the Rikti would get swamped and drowned in a wave of angry citizens..

    *Wanders off ranting*
  16. The Clockwork will clean up dirt ... by any means necassary.

    Which includes incinerating it
  17. When somebody insults you by saying "You like *word for a male chicken*!" you respond with "Why, yes. Yes I do."

When you're looking for something, you swear you can hear the glowie sound.

When you're tired, you claim to be 'out of End'

When you try to fly, but land flat on your face.

When you don't like what someone is wearing, you say "Your costume sux"

When something goes wrong, or something is too good to be true, you yell "IT'S A NEMESIS PLOT!"

    That's all I got for now :P
  18. Love the links Techbot, that brings back memories

Anyway, yes, new music. But the mention of dynamic fight-based music made me rummage around for 'Boss' fight music. The first i'll link, the one in particular is from 0:00 ~ 2:25, would be for 'Epic' fights, such as against very tough AV's or Giant Monsters.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNQ1Y...6E73B&index=12

The next I think this would go well with Invasions, Mothership Raids or just times when your group will be facing waves and waves of relentless enemies.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC7djryLAow

Just examples of what I feel would make fights more interesting. Its what makes battles in both the games the music comes from more exciting, especially the first, in which one wrong move can be the end of the entire fight

Some more ambient, repeated tracks would be nice. I've been listening to the Forza Motorsport 2 soundtrack whilst casually strolling around Praetoria and it just .. works.

At the least, have the option to enable repeated music, so those who like to just hear the sounds of their characters etc. can do so.
  19. I've just had this problem. Normally, flushing the thing-ma-jig (Not big on technical terms) solves it, but this time, nothing :l
  20. I think his arrogance stems from his Half-Mask-Is-It-A-Mask?-I-Don't-Know compressing his brain. Infact, that's probably the reason he gets curb stomped a lot.

"Blessed with godly powers! CURSED with a stupid mask-thing!"
  21. "Scherezade: Keeping fascist super soldiers comfortable!"
  22. I agree with all the absurb amount of ambushes in general, but my biggest grievance is this:

In one Praetorian mission (It involved Clockwork) our team get, well, ganked, since everytime we engage the ene-AMBUSH. Straight away. Every time. No matter how fast we kill the ambush, if we even so much as threw a angry glare into a mobs direc-AMBUSH.

Anywho, it all gets too much, everyone dies yada yada. I wait for the ambush to float away and such then use an Awaken aaaaand ...

The ambush, whom i thought was passive, speed around the corner FROM THE OTHER ROOM DOWN THE HALL and slam me back to the ground. I have NEVER had this in any other mission with ambushes before, to my recent memory, at least, i never remember a mob running from down the hall to put me back down.

It could just be that i get lucky with other ambushes in other missions (i.e. wiping them out) but i am firmly certain that ambushes wouldn't chase after people who'd rezzed well out of sight and WELL after the fight was over.
  23. I'd never noticed the anti-oneshot until now. Usually, if i get attacked by a boss when playing a squishy, i get flattened, to which i wholly expect to happen ..
