  1. Here's a thought! Maybe have some alts on a server other than the big 2?! Just as a back-up?! Maybe?! I started just before last double XP weekend and at that time the obvious solution was to make alts on a couple other servers. I play on Virtue and will go there first but if I can't then I can go to another server. I have been playing on Justice and Infinity with some alts and will go there if Virtue and Freedom lock out. It's better than waiting for the server to unlock!

It also might help if the DEVS would post average users/month on the servers. It might help people find alternate servers to play on.

I went to Infinity and Justice because they seemed to be the 3rd and 4th busiest when i12 went live and over the last 2XP weekend.
  2. I don't know if this is the right spot for this but what happened to that idea of turning CoH into a movie? Is that dead and gone? It's an old link but wondering what happened since I started playing this game maybe 6 months ago.

  3. Do people actually prefer less populated areas because that is what happens when you divide the players (heroes and vills) and provide limited opportunity to co-op. I am all for more co-op zones.

DEVS also talk about going to a server-less system or just a couple of super servers. What's going on with that?
  4. Something I would REALLY like to see is a new co-op zone where any level could enter it. In that zone we should have a new contact, new missions (with all new maps/tilesets) and a HALL OF FAME. This Hall should hold the names of all lvl 50 toons for that server.

Again, another idea to break down the barriers between heroes and vills!

Depending on how many badges you accumulate over the course of your travels would dictate on how Heroic or how Villainous you are (CELEBRITY/MOST WANTED points depending on what side you are on). Accumulate enough points and you might be able to cross over to the other side for certain missions on your own.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, now that is a good thought.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really think we should have the toons be able to cross over and be free to do almost all of the missions. Make it time limited. I just think it would increase the content (something we all beg for) and allow the ability to mingle. So, I guess I would like to see the whole game become a time limited co-op zone

This might solve my other big issue: dead servers. I prefer vills and other than the big 2 servers, the vill community is a bit slow on other servers. Hero side is pretty active on most servers but vills is a bit slow and tough to find teams etc.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a few servers shut down. Many people claim they're not ghost towns but they really seem to be just that.
  6. I'd prefer seeing new powers and not as much prolif. ATs should be somewhat unique. Causes us to want to try all of them
  7. No new zones I like it when you have a lot of other players around. I prefer playing villains and have tried playing toons on the slower servers, It sucks. Ghost towns. Sometimes people are there but not many.

I don't think you should ficide them anymore than we have. It seems less players play on the vill side and it's tough to team and do TFs and SFs.

Add new mission maps and missions and co-op zones. Vills is cool as is. Maybe add more to some of the existing zones.
  8. Experienced the sync bug late last night. At about midnight PST. Hopefully I don't have to relive that horror again
  9. I like the idea of crossing over sides but do it with minimal restrictions. Let the player base interact a bit more and not make it all mission driven. Let a 'trusted' villain come over and hang out in Atlas park and do some missions. Let that villain solo some missions or just socialize. Make the villain do a mish where he/she gets a pass and is trusted enough to cross over on his own.

I've only encountered one person that didn't like this idea. All I say to that is, "The needs of the many..."
  10. Ok, after creating a few vills so I can check out other servers I have to say heroes need more contacts and missions in the lower levels. The servers I was checking out seem rather dead so I was doing some contact missions....wow...not too many options. We don't need new zones but more contacts, missions and tilesets for the missions. We can use the existing zones and go from there.

The number 1 priority, IMHO, for this game should be the ability for heroes and vills to trek into each other's environments so we can access each other's content. Make it time limited and grant the ability to do this as a reward for a mission etc. That would give us way more zones, way more contacts and up the player population.

If you're compiling a list please add a reference to the thread discussing the ability to go freely into the other zones (heroes into vills and vicer versa....an absolutely brilliant idea).
  11. I am a huge fan of crossing over heroes and vills but I think it should be with little restraints or you're just ruining the fun. I really prefer the idea of doing content on the other side and interacting with each other in any zone. The only limit should be on time and maybe not being able to shop in each other's markets. Your heroes/vills should get temp passes for the a set amount of time to let you visit the other side.

There are many options here so I hope something is put in place and soon.
  12. This is a pretty solid idea and similar to a few I've posted in a number of other threads. I think we need to do more where heroes and villains can go visit the other side and play on that side. This game is somewhat divided and the players don't need to be. This type of solution would solve a few other issues I have with the game (namely, dead zones because you can now access both player bases).

I really don't think the SK system is needed at all. That is just complicating matters. It should be far more free flowing and easy for heroes/villains to enter the other side and do missions. This would do wonders to stimulate the game. Just have a contact like suggested and have a list of missions to pick from pretty much like in a regular team. You wouldn't have to add new missions right off the bat because now, through this new teaming, you have access to ALL of the game content.

I'd also like to expand on this idea a bit. If your toon completes an extensive number of co-op missions then he/she is granted the trusted badge and is given a 'day pass' to enter the other side and interact freely for a limited amount of time (maybe 7 days real time). This pass can be renewed upon completion of another run on the TF Imagine your villain hanging out and acting cool in Atlas Park!

Anyway, I think this type of idea really needs to be put into the game. The best part is if people don't like it then they can just ignore it. Nothing is forced on you.

My idea was to give this ability to lvl 50 toons as a reward and to motivate lvl 50 play but I prefer giving ALL toons the ability to cross over. The division between player base is not needed and takes away from the game.

This thread is excellent and I really hope the DEVS implement this idea in some form or the other.

PS - what does TL DR mean?

    Moon Hazard Zone

How about NO 5th Column and something new that resembles a super hero and super villain. The CoX enemies/foes are less than super hero-ish. Get more of that in the game. PLEASE!

I think any future big zones should really be co-op. CoX divides its player base and its tough to get the two together.
  14. Unplayable? Seems to work pretty good for me and I just hold off on the bugged items.

I can't say I'll ever do the new Roman TF because I just can't commit 90+ mins on most days. However, there are other things to do. I'm just hoping we get some new ways to play the game.
  15. What's the latest update regarding the new in-game ads? Aren't those also coming very soon?

Also, what's the status on costume packs? Are those still happening?
  16. I prefer playing Villains and less zones is one of the reasons. One thing I like about this game is interacting with other people. More zones would dilute that process and we have more than enough territory already. Add areas to the already existing zones. There is a lot of space in some zones so expand there.

I'd prefer to see more tasks/missions where you could team with heroes. The division between heroes and villains is annoying and it divides the population on each server way too much. I'd prefer a low level PvP zone and more co-operative TFs (maybe some where you MUST have equal number of heroes and villains and where the conclusion includes you having to fight the other side PvP style).

Anyway, I hope the new direction (NC Soft) allows for way more ideas to be added to CoX. It has the potential to be so much more. If that doesn't happen then CHAMPIONS may sound the death knell for this game! EEEK!
  17. I prefer vills side but feel like I'm nothing more than a lackey or stooge until I get the nod of Recluse or one of his flunkies at the higher levels. I'd like a contact that's completely not associated with Recluse or Arachnos. I'd like to have a villain that has no ties/connection or association with Arachnos. Villains need diversity and not to be lumped in with Arachnos or once associated with them etc. Villains really needs some new main characters and diversity. It's tiring being told Recluse is the man when I know my toon is! Anyway, it's high time for a new villain group (not just Recluse and his gang). Villain side could also face a new group of heroes or have a new hero group as another main opposition force.

I've mentioned a few other things as well (hire a lackey, arms dealer etc) in other parts of the forums. The story is cool but we need more direct changes to game play and new angles. The upcoming create a mission feature should help.
  18. Why can't we have an arms dealer where you can go buy a permanent or unique weapon to further customize your toon. Is this not an idea that is long overdue or what?! Boomerangs? Whips? Cool looking rifles? I know lots of this is around but I'd like to KEEP some of the items. I have never used my blaster given to me by the Rikti ambassador because it looks kinda cool!

This same dealer can sell you permanent travel powers as well. They could be a jet ski, jet pack, etc. Items that are not in any AT's regular power pool. Maybe have the rocket boots give you the ability to fly.
  19. Nah, I have done far from all of the content but that's just it. It gets a bit dull when your next missions looks exactly like the one you did a few missions back. The enemy is located in the same spots and the appearance is the same. I'd rather have new looks and more content (like I noted above) than creating these new groups (Midnighters) and adding background. I'd like both but if I have to pick then I would choose diverse looking missions and other suggestions I've made.

I would also really like it if our servers list included all English speaking servers all over the world. We could quash a few of our current least active servers and replace them with the other servers from other areas. It would give us choices and would increase the numbers. I am also sure it would be far more enjoyable just to see the CoH world interact on one list of servers.

I don't think any of my suggestions are difficult and would make the game way more fun (IMO)
  20. This might be a bit off topic but still fits. Can we get a new load of background environments for our missions? I am sick of seeing the same thing over and over.

DEVS really need to add new dynamics to the game so it's more enjoyable. I like the additions but add a new wronkle so there's more variety. Many of us get TIRED of running mission after mission to advance. Perhaps make a game or task worth XP. Allow us to do a mini-arc and give us a new power pool (kinda like the patron powers). How about travel vehicles/devices that we can KEEP.

How about a hero for hire system where we each account holder can create an NPC and put it in HERO FOR HIRE type system. Then we can go to the Hiring agency and pick up a sidekick for when we can't find a team (much like the NPC that follows you at the end of certain missions).

Anyway, i12 stuff was decent but the DEVS really need to add some new wrinkles to the game to make it more entertaining. I've been on since Jan. 2008 and it's starting to get a bit dull already.
  21. Now that I've had some exposre to the new costume patterns, I have to say I like 'em. Not bad. Thorns is the nicest and the others are solid too. My only issue is with Arctic. Have to be creatice to work that into a non-ice/cold toon .

Really hate the limited options for the VEATS. I have 4 VEATS on the go and will probably leave it at that. I can't stand to see that ridiculous NPC looking, generic toon for 10 levels. ACK!
  22. I also have to say i12 was a bit of a bust. I'm a bit new to the game (I guess what you would call a 'noob'? - I have no problems being new and could care less if people call me that. I don't consider it an insult at all) - anyway, this issue doesn't seem to offer much to actual play. You get more missions and more content and that's great. VEATS are ok but the lack of costume options sucks big time.

This is my first MMO and I wonder why they don't add small things to the game that might make it more enjoyable. The story and lore is great and if I wanted to focus on that I would read a book. Running missions in the same few environments is annoying. Why not add things where you can customize your toon a bit more with weapons? Have an arms dealer and make no weapon inflict more than moderate damage. Make these items a bit pricey and allow us to customize the toon a bit more. Allow these to be permanent OR temp (different pricing). Sometimes my Brute could really use a rifle! It won't change the dynamic too much because it won't inflict too much damage (anyone saying they shouldn't get ranged weapons should look at patron powers and other temp powers).

How about some new mission environments/background?

Why not allow us to travel vehicles. The lower levels may like this and some higher ones might too. I have to say, EVERY toon needs some form of travel power or it's a slow game. Vehicles may reduce travel power needs and allow us to take other stuff.

Have other power pools available (kinda like the patron powers). That is some cool stuff. Perhaps if you awarded a power per task and didn't have to level to get the power? That way even the lvl 50s could add to the toon.

There are so many other ideas suggested by others (and myself) that seem to get ignored. Honestly, the story etc for i12 is ok but the actual game play wasn't imporved much - issues should add some element towards play and add a new dynamic. If this is what we can expect down the road i13 will be my last
  23. Lighthouse, I appreciate your input and will look to frequent those four servers.

I've been playing for 3+ months and I am hooked! I've never really gamed or done anything like this before and I am enjoying this. I think, overall, you guys are doing a great job and look forward to being on board for a long, long time.

My only concern is the populace on a few servers. I have tried each one and found it tough to play on them due to lack of population (back to my first post here). Anyway, ever think about having the Euro servers (English speaking) amalgamate into a couple of ours? It would increase the population and allow for people to be online at some odd hours (I keep some funny hours at times). Anyway thanks for the good times and make mine Co*!
  24. Is there any way we can get access to the traffic on each server? I think we all know Freedom and Virtue are #1 and #2. Sometimes they're just too busy. I'd like to set roots on another server with some new toons but I don't want to be in a ghost town either. So, if anyone could put out some numbers or even a rank of server traffic please let me know
