I can't imagine that's an intended function, and I would consider that a bug more so then the long stun. It's a pain in the *** if you are on a tough/ice build, for instance.

  6. Also, you can now explain that all of your toons that use stealth use Buckets as a means to blind your enemies.

Yeah, I'd say it's become a meme. Sounds like a great concept for a toon that uses yelling at people to kill them.

    Storms and PvP

I had considered rolling a storm fender of some kind somewhat recently, but my building boredom with this game kept me from actually doing it. They are definitely viable in zone and small teams, probably duels also. They have also been used successfully in 8v8 teams, as Lib would confirm with dUmb. They have obvious weaknesses compared to other debuffers and what not, but they still have their place, imo.

This forum is more fun than most of the serious Archetype forums, it's like the intersection of "srs street" and "tryhard blvd".

My posts are for your benifit broskis and hoeskies; If I can make someone laugh with my posts then I have made the world a slightly better place. Ask yourself if WARE and Exile are making the world a better place?

Although perhaps I should actually offer some insight into the stalker build in question... When the HP Cap is raised by 400 or however much they're TALKING ABOUT raising it next issue, you may need those heal IO's you don't currently have in order to take advantage of the new hp cap. That's just some food for thought, I only have one stalker and I can't make a good SC build on her cus she's energy aura, and ENERGIZE is awesome but a level 35 power, which means I can't take it and still take a ranged attack... that really bums me out since SC is the zone I'd actually play her in.
Oh I like your posts, I just wasn't sure who you were. The Stalker buffs will make builds different, but I'm not sure when they are planning to release i22, or if the changes that I'm hearing about are final or not.

As far as overly serious goes... might seem like it sometimes. Some of the kind of venemous forum fights are because of the small population and the fact that most of us have been playing with/against the same people for a long time now. For myself, I do find that stuff tiresome at times, but I don't feel I take this game as seriously as some might think.
  10. Here's a KM/Invuln build I've had sitting around for a while. It was built for an 8v8 lineup based around KM's (That we never were able to get operational) so there are some things that you can do different that would make it more zone friendly. That said, I mostly was only able to use it in RV, and it was fine. I also would probably not roll Invuln for zone play, the choice of Invuln was because it was for an 8v8 lineup and we decided that in an 8v8 setting it was the best way to go.

You can get rid of Shuriken or take the slots out of it and put them elsewhere. It's a really bad power, but killing people with Shurikens is boss and I made it a point to spam Shuriken whenever I could. Mostly for ***** and giggles.

It's like 1900 HP with accolades, capped with DP up. Unstoppable will give you a considerable boost in survivability if you use it well.

I'll be transfering my toon to Freedumb and try to come up with a decent(ish) build. Let me know if you have one you could share!
Storm/Dark is kind of a similar concept as a Rad/Dark or something along those lines, stacking -tohit for survivability (hurricane/dark attacks) as well as using your other debuffs as much as you can. The Lightning Storm one can drain end really fast if people get too close. It's a good build, honestly.

  15. Force Mastery can be better then ice builds for survivability if you are good at using PFF (not difficult). Temp Invuln is also the best res shield a Blaster can get, which does make a noticeable difference in some cases. Other then the res shield and PFF, Force has a lot of other useless powers.

Fire/EM can benefit from Fire Mastery because of Char's fairly decent damage for a Blaster ranged attack, and it's guaranteed mez, since no Fire attacks have a built in mez.

Rise of the Phoenix is also a funny power.

CoH was a peaceful game. PvPers of all types - of all shapes - of all sizes, be they "zoners" or "arena players"; casual players or more intensive players; stronger or weaker players shared companionship. There was no trash talk. No drama.

The PvP community flourished, and began to grow rapidly. Many players expressed interest in forming a PvP league, so that they could all be friends and have fun playing together. But who would lead such a league? Katalyst, Duke of the great Exile, beacon of light to the PvP community stepped forward to the challenge. There were no attempts at team stacking, no secret rosters - any player was welcome to join whatever team he or she pleased.

But word of this league of friendship and fun spread rapidly, until it reached the ears of the most evil of creatures - Vincent and Silit. They searched far and wide, uniting the most powerful and evil warriors to ever walk the earth:

March the Vile, known for his relentless trash talk
Spiner the Wicked, Antagonizer of the Innocent
    Dexington, Destroyer of Hope
    Seethe, Spreader of Lies
    RyRy, Devourer of Souls
    Peril the Deceitful
Liberty, Lord of the Kingdom of Woe
Hot Heals, the world's youngest serial rapist
    Rystorm, Bringer of Sorrow
    Mebs, the Jew
h0j, a man eating half demon from beyond the northern mountains
    Walrus, the Dragon

and HP, Bringer of Thunder, the Dark Beast from beneath the earth

It was the first time any of them had joined forces - an uneasy alliance, bound only by mutual hatred...

    WARE.gov.

A blight upon the game, they sought only one thing - to terrorize the innocent PvP community - to instil the idea that CoH was an incredibly competitive game, and that WARE.gov was the best at it.

WARE.gov, knowing it would be impossible to go head to head with Exile in a fair fight, employed dastardly tactics in order to gain the upper hand - Exile's champion, Gunrock, Master of Dental hygiene, was tricked into standing atop a roof during Exile's battle against WARE. Even still, Exile fought valiantly, but at days end were defeated and forced to retreat from the battlefield.

Dark times these are. Trash talk, drama, disparity between players - WARE.gov has brought these plagues upon us!

We can only hope that good will prevail, but without Exile to lead us, I fear all may be lost.
Cool story bro. I always enjoy well written fiction.

    Arena Team size?

Yeah it's possible under the SG rumble setting, as Silit pointed out... But also since you can't pre-determine team placement, I think the only good use of it would be to maybe get some people's feet wet. As a medium of true arena PvP, it has lost some of it's value.

Also, I will say that I agree with Bud about not understanding why they would lower drop rates. If anything, they would want to increase them, speaking logically. Of course, as we all know, our devs rarely use logic when developing this game.
  21. Psy/Poison can definitely be viable in PvP, we've even seen 8v8 lineups based around them that did fairly well. As far as the ridiculous cost goes, the idea of needing a super expensive build to PvP is mostly not true. For casual zone play in particular, you just need a build that you can afford and that does what you need it to do. If you were interested in getting into arena PvP in any fashion you would certainly want to consider more expensive builds, but for zone PvP or any other casual PvP you can usually get off with 1.5-2 bil depending on the toon.

You CAN make cheaper builds then that, but you will notice a big difference between a 2-3 bil build and a 500 mil-1 bil build. Most of the uber expensive parts of the better builds is from Procs and some of the more luxurious PvP sets.

For powers, I think the things that you absolutely need are similar to what Slan above me said...
from Psy: Mental Blast (or Subdue, up to you), TK Blast, Will dom
    from Poison: Alkaloid, Evenom, Weaken
Pool Powers: Speed, Leaping, Leadership, Concealment
Soul: Dark Embrace, Power Boost, Soul Storm
    or
Psy Mastery: Mind over Body, Dominate, Telekinesis

That will leave you with some extra powers that you will probably just want to choose based around what set bonuses you want.

The advantage of soul is power boost mostly, it gives your debuffs a huge boost. Psy mastery just gives you Dominate, which can be a fairly high damage ranged attack, and Telekinesis (not sure if you know much about TK, but it can be pretty useful). Soul Storm also has it's fair share of uses depending on how you slot it.

  25. Greetings fellow lolCoH PvPers/League Participants,

It looks like Exile is dropping out early due to a general lack of interest in this game and the league, and a few RL conflicts for some of our members have arisen. The result is the team having an inability to make any real showing for practice, and potentially officials once they roll around again.

At this point, you all can consider Exile disbanded for this league. I enjoyed playing with my team, and for the record this wasn't really team drama related so much as it was just a gradual loss of interest. I enjoyed playing with all of the teams who played with/against us while it lasted. GGs to all of you.

I will still be subbed until this league is over to follow through with any follow-up things as necessary, but will not be participating in any future officials with Exile out of the picture.

I had fun with this while it lasted, all drama/dumb stuff aside, I appreciate everybody who formed teams and joined the league, and especially those of you who stuck it out till the end, and also everybody who stuck it out in Exile until the end where everybody finally realized how bad this game is.

Pre-grats to WARE.gov for winning the league, we all know it's coming, and has been for a while. Despite being fail-trolled by Hot Heals for weeks, I still enjoyed playing against you guys.

PS: Zwillinger, me and the rest of the Exile roster still expect our pretty gold forum titles and those costume codes you promised to league participants. Hope you haven't forgotten about that.
