For being gone too long? No. AT WORST, when the devs run a script (it is very infrequently run), all characters that meet certain criteria - belong to an account that has lapsed for 'x' months, and are under level 'y' (I think 'x' is well over 6, and 'y' is 10-20) - will have their names put up for grabs.

To clarify; these characters retain their names until someone else gives their character that name (they'd have to be on the same server). The character who's name was taken is then issued a rename token. Nothing else about the character is changed.

I think the devs have confirmed that they've run the script twice over the lifespan of the game... although I may be repeating outdated information here.


This is not to say that it's impossible to lose a character *shrug* sometimes old information becomes corrupt, we are dealing with computers here - stuff happens... But I'd say 99.9% of the time whenever a returning player can't find their characters, those characters are either on a different server, or on a different page of the character list on a given server.

It's fairly nice; But often I find myself wanting that (otherwise) prerequisite anyway... Although a couple of my tighter builds do love it for the little extra breathing room.

0 to 4, actually... and I believe VEATs get a 6th slot that they can't edit (it would be a clone of their second slot, I think), unless that's been changed.

Wow... typed out a detailed explanation regarding the fact that there's a bug in the veteran awards that sometimes fails to award them, then re-read your post, and realized this was not likely the issue...

On your navigation bar, open up badges, and select "veteran", scroll down to the 12 month badge, an there shoul be one with a little "claim bonus power" (or something similar) button. Click it, and then an option should come up to select either the ghost slaying axe, or the sands of mu.

You would have to do this on each character.

Based on the "since I installed windows 7" line, I feel compelled to ask the following; Have you installed the latest graphics drivers for your card?

Because it's over powered. Where other sets require slotting 4-6 enhancements to get defense values of 1.25 - 2.5, BotZ required only 2 slots for a bonus of 3.13 (3 slots for another 3.13 to a different vector).

Take combat jumping (or hover) for combat mobility, slot two in there. TP friend (two slots) an TP (2-3 slots) for your travel power, and right there, that's at least +9.39% ranged defense (not counting the whatever CJ/Hover gives you). That is not an insignificant amount, at the cost of 1 power pick (I usually take one travel power anyway), and maybe 2 slots.

And some powersets have a power in them that accepts universal travel, and doesn't otherwise need much slotting. After I put a full set of BotZ in Elude (for a total of 12.52 ranged), my scrapper was easily soft-capped to both ranged and melee. (also has a side effect that with this, sprint, quickness and swift, it caps my runspeed for a short while.)

EDIT: As much as my scrapper laments this change (losing 7.52 ranged defense will at least double her vulnerability to ranged atacks)... I'm really only miffed that it took them this long to see this set bonus as an outlier... it was practically visible fron space.

Although I don't believe it to be the case here, the trick could be a double bluff; announce something possible, but improbable, will occur on the first of April. Then, after everyone had dismissed it as an April Fools prank, follow though with the plan.

And then there's situations like Think Geek, a few of their joke products have gone on to become real merchandise (the Tauntaun Sleeping Bag, for example)

also... you'd have to have an alt account to invite yourself to your sg to get access to the base... And if you have an alt account to do THAT... I think there's more efficient ways to both generate new inf and transfer it to new characters that need it.
