Its a bit of a sensitive subject as perhaps you may not have noticed but there are fairly few heroes of color and of those, most are replicas of original Caucasian heroes (can you say Mr. Terrific, War Machine, GL John Stewart, Steel, Mach IV from the Thunderbolts being black and then lo and behold, abner jenkins found a way to be white again???etc..).

I think why it made such a big deal is that after 7 years in COH, and feeling such an accepting environment in terms of the NPCs that are used (heck, look at the prominence and originality displayed by using Marauder and his girlfriend in Praetoria's GR) that this came as more of a shock. So in the past, Paragon has demonstrated above most other media, that willingness to paint an inclusive landscape so again, this took us a bit by surprise.

Maybe its a mistake, maybe a fluke, but based on what I outlined above, I don't think you have the awareness to state that someone is over reacting, with all due respect.
Holy crap did you never think it just looked cool? why does race have to enter anything?

I must be old cause I frankly find it disturbing so many are hooked on a stupid skin tone.

Or at least, let's say I would be really surprised. That seems like it could become a balance issue, and we all know how important balance is.

Yes, there are a lot of people who have many or most of their toons completely IOed out, and maybe have several purpled toons. But there are also a lot of people who don't have that much time to invest in the game, and so rely heavily on generic IOs or even SOs. It comes down to the percentage of the population that is IOed/Purpled out vs otherwise, and how the challenges in the game may or may not need to be ramped up in order to provide a greater challenge. Which, given precedent, Paragon is reluctant to revamp and rebalance content around IO sets.

So I doubt there will be purples available in the Paragon market. Just my two cents.
Wouldn't they just amp up the difficulty for that one toon? Isnt that what Hero Corp does?
  3. what kind of game did I sign up for when in a thread about a change in the game is here and all anyone can talk about is hoe light skinned a picture is?

You just condradicted yourself. They can sell what they as long as it isnt what you say?? LOL Truth is we all dont really know squat about what will be sold other that costume pieces and certain arcs we will get for free anyway being a VIP. The rest is all guess work and in some cases fear running rampant. I dont personally care how some get stuff I just care how I get it.

    This is a game.

So you don't like the idea of NCSoft making money.

I would add that Paragon Studios is not the group who is receiving our payments - NCSoft is who the charges are made out to. The Devs are not in charge of how much the game costs us. Even if we love and trust the Devs, it's the giant, faceless Conglomerate that collects our money.

You mean it is ran by an Evil capitalist company? Say it aint so!!!!!!! Because a company is big does not mean bad. It just means they know what they are doing cause that's how they got big to begin with. I will be the first to bail if I feel I am getting robbed. As it is I am today going out to buy a graphics card so I can play more easily that should tell you the confidence I have in them.

how did you come up with that? Are you saying they dont have a right to raise prices according to supply and demand?

And yet your not. I think paragon might be to generous to us subscribers. They are under no oblagation to be so. They could have left us vip people with the same content as we get now.
  9. Can someone explain to me how it became evil to make money? Did I wake up in fhe soviet union this morning?

But they are now.....You pay 15 dollars a month for them.
  11. My thoughts are that in order for them to make money on this store at these prices they will need an etreme amount of content I.E fluff and stuff. I am all for that cause we need more chest emblems.

You could probably accurately predict when the shutdown would come just by calculating how many months it would take for the amount of money made by a subscription to pass that of a "lifetime" subscriber.
Holy brain blast!!!!!!! That was darn astute.

That would be because San Diego Comic Con is always in San Diego, California.

They really wouldn't want to hold it in San Diego, Texas. It's extremely small, in the middle of nowhere, and the biggest thing going there is the Glossbrenner Unit that is part of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

    :P
  15. Why is it always in California? I mean I love comics but I dont know if I love them so much I want to go to California.....I mean they have crazies there like the Baldwins ! LOL
  16. It does seem odd that you would use Facebook. Wouldn't use of both the forum and Facebook be more useful? Or are you using it as a means of advertisement? If the latter then good job.
  17. I am excited that there will be newer people like me to join teams with around the same levels without the elitist garbage.

    thanks
  19. Thanks .....I am just hoping it isnt cause I am new. One of the main reasons I came here Is because I heard that sort of thinking wasn't prevalent here.
  20. I am mostly on freedom but truthfully all I ever see are people farming for money and only once did I team up. It also seems the more people the more no one wants to team. So I am hoping it is just freedom server and not the whole community.
