All right! Here's the transcript with the interview of Jack Emmert (Statesman) at GirlzGameToo.com. So go take a peek if you missed it. The audio is being cleaned up right now, and I'll post a link for download when it's available.
Interview!!

Get a hair cut hippy!
States is right about bases being so unique. I would like to see COX continue to work on their strengths. Transfering powersets from COV to COH would be cool, I want an electric tanker! -

We've got a nice tweak to the Domination ability coming down the pipe (it will crank up your Mez resistance while it is active), and are currently data-mining PvP to see what effect our last set of tweaks to the AT have had.
[/ QUOTE ]
Coming at this as an outsider (don't have a Dom yet) a little extra Mez protection for a Dom would make a lot of sense to me. Also these cries that Dominators are too week really does scare some of us away that would like to play one.
Here's a question, would the double damage that a controller does for a succesful hold be too much for a Dominator? -

You're thread has been officially put into the groove yard of forgotten threads. -
Shield of Valor (Heroes) and Sword of Vengeance (Villains) two of Victory's most experienced RP supergroups are accepting new members. RP is not required but encouraged (must be at least RP friendly). Even if you are not into RP, RP SGs have a tendency to avoid the nub factor with a strong base of mature players. Stop by here for more information..

We use the Global Channel VictoryRP -
Victory is interested in increasing our RP population. The Hero group Shield of Valor and Villain group Sword of Vengeance will always have an open invitation to new RPers and RP Coalition mates.
VictoryRP is our global channel, you will always find friendly RPers willing to help with story Arcs and any RP events that you can dream up.
Send @Spackle, @TexasLonghorne or @JrelPrestoo a tell for directions to a good RP SG, and Global channel.
Go to our website Victory RP and introduce yourself on the forums. -
I personally love the idea of a pulp noir type city. It could take place in Paragon City's past.
Also a Horror theme (Werewolf by night, Tomb of Dracula, Man-Thing, Swamp Thing, etc.) has always been an integral part of the comics. -

Why is WoW or Lineage doing so much better? Heck - they're great games. But they're also successful in the Asian market. Will we ever catch up to them. Dunno. The WoW guys have a bit of a track record on us...years of producing amazing games. Who ever heard of Cryptic before City of Heroes? There are LEGIONS of Blizzard fans - of course they'd play WoW! And it's a phenomenal game!

I always thought of COH as being geared towards more of a niche audience (I never would have ventured into the MMOG market if it wasn't for COH), wether or not that niche becomes the norm remains to be seen. I tried WOW for awhile because it was new and shinny, but I still came back here, mostly because I realized I hated crafting and the fact that I still think Super heroes are where it's at. -
[ QUOTE ]
And not only that, but WoW and Guild Wars -still- sell for $49.99.
[/ QUOTE ]
They haven't been on the market as long as COH.
Everquest 2 has also fallen in price. -
You should apply for a position at a fortune 500 company Armsman, since you can make such amazing deductions with anecdotal numbers and such.
I'm not sure why some people get so much glee from being doomsayers.
From SirBruce (keep in mind he is working with March 2005 numbers here)
"Launched in April of 2004, City of Heroes is proof that a well-executed MMOG can still garner substantial numbers even in the current competitive climate. Although CoH quickly reached over 180,000 subscribers, it dropped sharply towards the end of 2004, only to recover again the following year thanks primarily to a European launch. As of March 2005 the number of subscribers worldwide was 140,481."
Fantasy RPGs still take up 85.1% of the market according to SirBruce, and Lineage II (an NCsoft game) still had more subscribers than Warld of Warcraft. -
Manticore seems to be very reactionary only truly considering the consequences later ala Jack Bauer of the TV series 24....loved it.
As far as creative teams I would like to see Mark Millar, Warren Ellis, or Mike Allred take a crack at the COH Universe. -
The pacing was a little off, I'm glad Cryptic is going with rotating creative teams.
The creative team for the first series was just as good if not better. -
Well you don't become the head of a multi-million $ project because you're a moroon.

Should designate a SG for each server and each SG name should be named after their server of origin such as Paragons of Virtue or Heroes of Victory or Lords of Liberty. But you could never have a title with another server's name in it such as "Infinity
Justice" or "Liberty Protector." -
The mission difficulty "slider" was a real blessing for solo players or just players having a hard time picking up a team. It allowed for this changing or roll back of game mechanics....very good States, and thanks.

I would LOVE to do Pulp stuff...but would it sell? That's the issue.
Doc Savage. The Shadow. Agent 13. *shudders* Such great potential from the Pulp world.
[/ QUOTE ]
Great! Now you're talking, love Pulps. A Pulp AT or Origin would be great. More gadget type stuff would help fester this kind of character (since pulp heroes are non-super powered). Whips, revolvers, jet packs, vehicles of course, perma human and robotic Side kicks, disguises to fit in with minions at anytime, maybe a throw voice to distract a minion, added damage for attacking someone from behind, etc.
The Shadow was a little better written than Doc Savage, but Doc Savage had that formula that was injected into all the serials of the day than onto Star Wars and Indiana Jones. If you want to read something that reads like an Indiana Jones movie read Doc Savage everyone.
By the way organizing a Pulp SG was even harder than an all Cows SG go figure. -
Very useful thanks!

lol it dosent matter how long you play to get to the net level when you rp. Thats why you dont understand you just wanna be the best, i would rather enjoy myself and talk as my character, then when it comes time yea we will fight. You just dont listen and you just want to lvl up. We dont, i like lvlin up but as long as i have fun on the way.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with you whole-heartedly. The best times I have are when I'm in some kind of team mode working with others and carrying on conversations in character. Not even RPing necessarily, just having fun.

Though recently I've decided to run my solos on Victory, and I've found 1 RPer there. "She" is awesome.

Trying to get an RP community going over at Victory and we could use some experience. See our RP event post on the Victory Forum. Believe me there is more of you than you thought over there, and many more itching to give it a go.

How about just real money? Although it might be confusing for those players in Europe.
