    Paragon Wiki to the rescue.

Free players are limited to an INF cap of 25 Million per character. Premiums have that same limit until they fill Tier 4 on the Paragon Rewards shrub. Once they fill Tier 4, the INF cap changes to 2 Billion.

Who's being daft here? I never said anything about whether the news would spread elsewhere, you just pulled that one out of thin air in your post.

A SPOILER tag would not have kept the news in this thread.

It would have been being discussed in channels in game and on other boards anyway, SPOILER tag or not.

The SPOILER tag would only have applied to this thread. I still maintain that the title itself IS the SPOILER tag.

    Sure it can.

If a trial is close to the minimum and enough players drop from the trial, it doesn't immediately end (or isn't supposed to at least).

There is a hidden timer that begins that allows for the possibility that someone crashed or just disconnected and is coming back into the trial.

If they haven't returned by the time that timer runs out, and no one is in the JIP queue, then it ends the trial as having too few members.

If someone is in the JIP queue and selects to enter the trial, it continues as long as that brings it above the minimum.

If several people disconnected or crashed and the addition of people in JIP queue doesn't bring it above the minimum, the trial ends as having too few members.

This is the way it was explained by some of the Dev team or OCR team in Pocket D one night when they were testing some of the early trials. I can't recall for certain who gave the explanations, but I'm thinking it was a combination of answers from Black Scorpion, Positron and possibly someone from QA. Me memory may be faulty since it was so long ago, so I can't be certain of who it was. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone with a better memory of that night will correct me as to who was answering what that night.

On the other hand, I don't know why, but spoilers never meant much in this game to me, so I don't see what all the griping is about.

On the other other hand, they did mod the title of Ultimus' thread from this past weekend because of spoilers, so you'd think they'd have a little more concern over their own...
I guess I'm a bit odd when I look at the Community Digest. I look at the title of the post first and if that title is something I don't want to see I don't look at the text under it. Seeing the title as being A Death Revealed.... would make me not read the rest of the text if I didn't want to know any more about it.

And, that title, as I said earlier, is enough of a SPOILER tag as it is without it having who is dying in the title (now THAT kind of title would merit a SPOILER tag in my view). The wording of the title itself likely led them to think as I did that it was enough of a SPOILER tag for the thread.

Of course, everyone knows the OCR team hates heroes and uses the Villain Style for the forums. Thus they would have forgotten about what information would be seen on the broken Hero Skin.

I'm sure the Seattle web team had this particular announcement in mind as to why they kept putting off the forum fixes.

Was the opacity issue around while pohsyb was still here? Since he checked in his last code at Paragon in February I was thinking the opacity issue came after he left.

As for Incandescence threads ... you failed to mention that it was the same thread from the same poster every few days, even after a redname had announced it was fixed in an upcoming patch (apparently this one).
  6. The last I heard, Join In Progress only allows you to join a Trial that is in progress IF it falls below the Minimum required for the Trial.

Since I don't team, I can't verify if that is the behavior it's using. I'll have to trust what we were told at the time they were testing TUT.

Well, anyone with the slightest bit of common sense can see that the title is a SPOILER tag all by itself. A Death Revealed....

Think about it. What does the word Revealed mean?

Let's see what a Google search says about it (search term used was revealed definition):

    Quote:

revealedpast participle, past tense of reĀ·veal (Verb)

    Verb:
    • Make (previously unknown or secret information) known to others.
    • Cause or allow (something) to be seen.
Yeah, I'd say the title of the thread pretty much has SPOILER written all over it, just by the wording of the title.

When they tell us they are revealing something, don't open the thread if you don't want to know what they are revealing.

Since the title was A Death Revealed.... well, it's pretty difficult to interpret that as anything other than that they are revealing an in-game death. If you don't want to know who dies, don't open the thread.

Use a bit of common sense.
  8. So we'll finally get a login screen without Derpface?

    Cool.

    Stealth bug fix.

Someday we may actually get full patch notes where everything is included that has been changed.

On that same day, they'll go back an edit all of the previous patch notes to include the undocumented changes.

That day will be the day when the patch notes first note that they are finally nerfing accuracy.

    Dev Digest is your friend.

Positron made a post about these on December 8. They have changed plans based on player feedback and these will not be initially sold in the Paragon Market.

Instead, they will be available in-game exclusively to VIP's through the methods listed in Positron's post.
  11. Yes. And don't just downgrade the drivers. Uninstall the current ones, reboot into Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper, reboot into normal mode and install the 11.9 drivers.

Avoids driver corruption issues that way.

EDIT: It is also advisable to follow the steps in Hyperstrike's [Guide] Asking for technical help on the forums thread that is in the Gameplay/Technical Issues & Bugs section.

    Hey Y'all

You left Beastyle off the list of the OCR team.

    TheNet is QA IIRC.
    Black Scorpion is powers.
    Second Measure is Lead Producer.
    Alpha Wolf is Associate Producer.

Jay left recently without any fanfare.
pohsyb left early in the year without any fanfare and took a job at Apple.

That was my initial thought as well, but I just flat couldn't remember for certain.

I "think" that the globe was already solid by the time I got into Beta in March, but I can't be sure of that either.
  14. I didn't sign any NDA for that panel. I'd have known it if I had.

Nelson Tam is one of the Animators at Paragon Studios. IIRC he's the one that did the animations for the Demons that run around on their knuckles.

I was hoping by now that they'd have posted Nelson's video for Staff Fighting. Maybe this will prod them into posting it.

My previous post was merely to point out that I hadn't seen anyone using a video camera to record stuff during that panel which is likely why none of the attendees have posted a video of it rather than it being an NDA thing.

EDIT: I know that Nelson's Demo Reel on his own website shows several of the Kinetic Melee and Dual Pistols powerset animations. It also shows some items from a cancelled project that may have been an influence on some of the Street Fighting animations.
  15. I think it was before /stuck was added or it may have been that /stuck didn't move you to the outside of the globe.

It's been a few years, my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

    True.

It's just a part of my personality to try to be helpful and point people to existing discussions to try to consolidate things.

Exactly why I linked the thread instead of just saying one existed elsewhere.

And, I'm not sure that PQ gets less traffic than CL. Many people I know avoid CL like the plaque. I know I used to only venture here when following links from the Dev Digest or Community Digest. I do know that several people post things in PQ because they stop when scrolling through the list of the forum sections before they get past that point.

It has noting to do with being a not-Mod, it's merely letting him know that an existing discussion is already going on in another thread.

I was even courteous enough to give a link.

Why have the discussion spread over two different threads when you can consolidate the information into one thread? Seems to be more economical for those trying to find information or those answering questions.

But then, I guess I just prefer using a bit of common sense. From meeting DJ Shecky I'd say he's pretty much into using common sense as well. I'd also say he's aware of the fact that my post was done without malice, merely an informational post to point him to the existing discussion.

That link can also serve to point anyone else looking for information to the other thread as well.

    Winter Event???

There is already a thread with discussions, questions, thoughts, speculations, etc on the Winter Event.

Probably better than starting a new thread about the same thing.
  20. The Art Panel wasn't uStream'd, so there is no video to post.

Unless someone in the room happened to have a video camera running that I didn't see.

That's very possible since it was in the small room, we were packed in the room like sardines, and I was in the front row. Difficult to tell what might have been behind me but I don't recall seeing a camera setup anywhere.

As for why I left the launcher running in the background: Because crashy game is crashy and so when I invariably crash during an iTrial it saved time.
This sounds as if you have other issues going on with your computer and they are affecting the launcher.

Hyperstrike already posted my thoughts on the launcher crashing vs time-saving.

Having installed the launcher and game on several work computers to stress test some hardware repairs, I can verify that if the computer isn't having any other issues, the launcher doesn't have issues.

If it were me, I'd start by backing up the game directories, running a full scan with Malwarebytes, a full scan with Spybot and a full scan with Spyware Doctor, running a full AV scan, uninstalling the launcher, uninstalling and then reinstalling all of the .Net Framework packages one by one and then reinstalling the launcher. It should detect the game installation and if not then you can start a reinstall from the launcher and then stop it and paste your backup files into the directory then do a repair.

That's not a guaranteed fix, but it's the first troubleshooting steps I'd take if it were on one of my computers.
  22. Just as a clarification.

The word I think you used has been used as a slang term in a derogatory manner to refer to people with a form of mental retardation.

This is likely why it is banned on the forums.
  23. Nos, I can read all of your post without highlighting anything, and yes, I'm using the Hero Style.

Of course, I'm also using an add-on that strips color tags from text (some of it got downright hard to read).

And anyone that is using the Villain Style would be able to read it as well, so it's not really an effective tactic. Some people have switched temporarily to the Villain Style since their is broken code on the Hero Style.
  24. The last word I heard was that it is Working As Intended and that there were no plans to change it to make it able to affect non-teammate league members. Hopeling gave the numbers, that's a large part of their decision.

Whether you think the decision to limit it to team only is weak or not, that's the reasoning we've been given and it's unlikely to change because you want it to be different.
  25. Open the side of the case and look at the Power Supply. It should have the Wattage listed on the side of the unit. If not, you should be able to find a Brand name and model number.

With that information we can look up it's specs.
