Help me pick a video card for christmas.
Well the next question is the size of your power supply. Specifically the maximum amount of watts available at +12 volts. Make and model of the power supply if you can't find that information will due. At the very least what video card you are using currently since that's currently working with your power supply.
Question after that is your budget limit.

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

As for a video card for around $150, here's a nice option (it's got a fair overclock on it for extra punch):

Oh god I wish. As to the other questions I can't really see any marking on the power supply that seem helpful. This is some custom rig my brother bought off iBuyPower or something similar so I imagine its decent. I can tell you that the old card is a EVGA geforce 8500GT with 512MB of ddr2. Never had a problem with it till the day it died.

Your old 8500GT uses around 40 watts (maximum). The GTX 550Ti that MetaFusion is suggesting uses around 116 watts (maximum). The question now becomes "does your power supply have an additional 76 watts (at 12 volts) to spare?
You really need to find out how many watts your power supply has otherwise it's buy, try and hope the computer doesn't go "pop".

Open the side of the case and look at the Power Supply. It should have the Wattage listed on the side of the unit. If not, you should be able to find a Brand name and model number.
With that information we can look up it's specs.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
- We really need the specs on the PSU. Pop the side and read off what you can. Even a model number is helpful.
- What's your budget look like?
- I'd also recommend taking that board up to 4GB of RAM. 2GB is just pushing it.
Not sure if this is the place for this but since this isn't a technical problem I guessed it didn't go there.
Anyway, I have an ASUS P5KPL-CM mobo and im trying to find recomendations for a bang for the buck deal on a compatable graphics card. This is really the only game I play so im not worrierd about how it runs CRYSIS or Battlefield or whatever. Also running a core 2 duo
e8400 and two gigs of ddr2 ram if that matters.
Any help would be appriciated.
